Today on The Skid Factory Woody & Al prep the Pajero for some Off-Road 4x4 action by fitting a Winch, Dobinsons 2 inch Lift Kit and some Boos Bash Plates!
It might be a soccer mums Mall Crawler but at least Woody now looks the part when he's doing the shopping.

  • As someone who does alignments in the US Midwest, I appreciate the understanding that those bolts aren't gonna move and the only thing to do is cut them out and replace them.

  • Love that you're doing something different. Hint with those winches.... You can rotate the clutch lever housing to orient it the direction you want.

  • 3:30 snow and ice is the best cause you bring them into the heated shop and they dont stop dripping till you're done cause it is just melting the whole time, the best tho is when you get a chunk of it down the back od your shirt.

  • I would suggest a small guard on the intercooler, the rope will wear through it very quickly if you end up pulling yourself regularly as the rope tends to not spool up nicely when winching in.

    • Just to add... Don’t ever hook the winch hook back to the winch rope or cable. Use a tree saver strap when winching to a tree/rock/root. And a winch line damper is also a must

  • Woody, I have boos B plates on my NP Pajero since 2018 and they work really well.I did a heavy impact on the front corner 4x4ing and no damage to the Radiator or the intercooler,They are pretty tough and worth the $$.

  • Sunday creek road is a good drive and go towards Jimna, Dave at the post office is a top bloke. The off-road side of obi-obi will also get you some nice shots

  • Had a winch for the first time on my last triton used it to pull down 3 trees (non native weeds) and rescue 5 mates never once used it to save myself. Was nice piece of mind for wheeling by yourself though.

  • Couple of observations: 1) If woody's crooked intercooler was crooked in the other direction, it would probably clear the free spool. 2) Can't you clock the motor unit on the winch so that the free spool lever is more toward the front?

  • Love watching you guys work on the Paj. I've pushed my fuel tank in on my NM Pajero. That bash plate kit looks the goods. Soon you will be out wheeling that PooTroll. Is that a Dirt Boy 4x4 winch cradle? You can use the winch to recover the PooTroll.

  • Dobinsons make top gear, have used their springs in an old rangie and in my prev GQs. A worthwhile upgrade by any measure. You’ll need some extra coin as mates who have had those paj’s reckon they drink like free beer going off at a wharfies picnic. 😳

  • On some winches you can rotate the gearbox therefore moving the disengagement lever to the front should make it easier to turn.

  • Read the instructions! You can rotate the end of the winch. Clutch handle will often not fit, it's the normal thing to do. Anyway, love the customizations. Keep it up boys!

  • What that get hot in the summer. The trouble with all that under protection is the heat struggles to get away. You might have to lift the bonnet at the rear to get the heat out of the engine bay.
