Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the amount of cool and educational stuff we get to learn each week from this channel? History and Discovery channels got some competition 👍
No we all can take a moment, I dont have any moments to give to something so useless and stupid. Why dont you take a moment and come up with an original comment instead repeating an overused, useless, we-todd-ed comment you bot. For once in your life try thinking for yourself, try having one original thought in your head and try actually make comment with your own original creative thought for once instead regurgitating a played out useless comment. How about you actually make an effort at something in your life. Can we all take a moment to appreciate how stupid your comment is and how its been said and overused 946,827,957,384,837 times already in a week by every other single brainless bot that cant ever have a comment you actually thought of all by yourself. The high waves remind me of my very first cruise back in 2015. We got caught in a storm going from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico up to Los Angeles, CA. The storm was so intense that the front of the ship was going up and down probably 100 feet from the swells. It emptied all the pools on deck, furniture was flying everywhere, and people were getting sick all over the place. Thankfully, my cruise partner and I don't suffer from sea sickness, so we enjoyed every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure! I count myself lucky that it was just a large enough storm to give us a thrill we'd never forget.
Omg 😂 Stay safe.
@TheUltimatePro which cruise line were you sailing with?
Never seen any of these, but only heard of this, too. Arachnado Spider tornado.

I used to live in Port Washington, Wisconsin, right on the shore of Lake michigan. 3rd story apartment right on the lakefront. Let me tell you, the weather that happens on the shore of lake Michigan can be amazing like this video says. In fact, one of those iced over lighthouses was about 500 feet from my apartment building.
Did it cause you to be iced in? To where you could not open the door?
I still live in Plymouth and LOVE watching the Ice Shoves on L. Winnebago. But back to Port's lighthouse I was a kid (early 80's) and so much ice was on it you couldnt walk under it like normal. I have been in a dust storm which turned day into night and caused street lights to automatically come on. This was in an outback town in Australia in 2009.
I got to experience a dust storm earlier this year in South Dakota. Even though it was 5 : 30 in the afternoon, it was as dark as night outside. It knocked my town's power out for a day and a half.
WoW I grew up in SD but never heard of a dust storm until later in life. Where was it? It’s so lush and green up there, I can’t imagine. My idea of a dust storm may be over exaggerated though. I think of sandstorms in The Alchemist novel or the Lawrence of Arabia movie.
@@amazingsupergirl7125 It was in south-east SD, not too far from Minnesota. I've lived in the Dakotas all my life and this is the first dust storm I've heard about here. All I know about dust storms is that it's equivalent to a sandstorm and it happens in the Great Plains once every 2 years. Guess SD was the lucky state this time.

With the river flowing backwards part: the Mississippi River has flowed backwards at least four times due to weather/natural disasters. In 1811-12 due to earthquakes, 2005 due to hurricane Katrina, 2012 due to hurricane Issac (which caused it to flow backwards for 24hrs) and most recently in 2021 due to hurricane Ida. omg when you brought up Dawlish I was like YES I used to take that train all the time and still do now and then to get to Exeter
I've been on the Dawlish train, about 10 years ago, with the waves coming OVER THE TOP of the train. I think the train was stationary at the time, it was so scary yet exciting at the same time, the train made it into the station with no problems. I think about 5 ish years ago, the ground below the tracks was completely washed away in a storm, TV footage of the tracks just dangling in thin air. They've rebuilt it now, but wow, that was an experience I'll never forget.

At one point, I was swimming at a beach near Lincoln City, Oregon, in one of those little mini rivers down to the ocean, I was building a dam just for fun, you know, normal stuff. Then there was some weird foam that came down, it was a strange grey colour but I just assumed it was just algae foam. But as we were leaving the beach that day, my dad got a notification on his phone that there had been a sewage leak and it was advised that no one get in the water. I held back my vomit and showered so much my skin wrinkled when I got home. 🤢🤢🤢
Interesting wow.

Yeah! Ditto to that
I was on that first train in Devon getting pummelled by waves, it was very cool
I live in Washington state, on the east side where it is a desert. One time we had a very dry and hot summer (we always do, but this was exceptionally dry), and we regularly get high winds, but we some extreme winds comes though. I was outside my house and I looked in the direction the wind was blowing and saw a massive wall of brown sand coming. I quickly went back inside and withing about 20 seconds the entire sky turned almost as dark as night, and the wind was very loud. Lasted about 30 minutes or so. That was about 13 years ago, I still think about it. It was awesome and terrifying.
My family and I have been directly hit by three category 5 hurricanes, 4 category 4 hurricanes, 4 category 3 hurricanes, 7 category 2 hurricanes, 6 category 1 hurricanes, to many tropical Storms to count. Two direct hits from low f tornados , been within a half mile from a monster water spout nearly a mile wide while out in a boat and been on the beach witnessing three water spouts side by side. Gratefully we never been through any other natural disasters observed in your video. However I must say that out of all natural disasters , I never want to go through a tornado ever again in a direct hit, there is just not enough warning system times prior to being hit where a hurricane can easily be prepared for in short notice.
Wow

@@raymondmartin6737 I was only 3 .. But I remember the 1981 storm! I was 7 and we were driving back from Disney World. We got caught on the airline. 2 trucks had jackknifed and there were about 20 cars or so stuck in the middle. A kind couple opened their doors to us, made a seafood chowder for us all. I can remember how poor they must have been, but shared with strangers who needed it. The police escorted us out to Calais once the road was clear, and all the cars stopped in St. Stephen at the motel there. I will never forget that.

I live on the Arkansas/Oklahoma border and have been through my fair share of tornadoes. When they are coming it sounds just like a train. They have incredible power and can completely destroy one home while leaving the one next door untouched.

in the Netherlands in 2014 I've been at Pinkpop festival, a supercell with lightning came over the festival. It was awesome yet scary, 60k people that had to sit down and stay low. Everywhere at the barriers and tents got evacuated. Doesn't happen often in the netherlands and at the time I didn't even realise how rare it was.
They're becoming more and more frequent, I've chased 8 supercells in the Netherlands alone this year
One time, I was in the pool and I had one of those mermaid tails on. The mermaid tail was 20-30 pounds and I was 10 at the time. I would’ve drowned if my friend’s dad didn’t save me with his clothes and slippers on. I just wanna say, a lot of people have been saved by heros, Herod not only being ones from comics but also your neighbors, friends, family, firefighters, first responders, police, etc. If anything, be kind

I've seen some really cool advection fog in a video my cousin sent me from the west shore of Lake Michigan. The fog was only ankle deep, but slowly moved inland off of the water. It was so thick that you couldn't even see the ground, despite the fog being ankle deep. It was really cool to see. It reminded me of the scene in Spy Kids where the parents were in the Dungeon Room and they were walking across CGI clouds. Basically, advection fog forms when a relatively warm, moist air mass moves across a cold surface (over water). The cold surface of the water cools the air to its dewpoint, condensing the water vapor in the air and producing fog. A light wind then pushes the fog inland.
Legitimately, this video is the Magnum Opus of this channel. Also, 02:48 this is so beautiful, the background music for this video is so well-chosen it makes the whole scene look divine

The orange dust storm we had one in April of 1991. Man was that an experiences to live through, it was creepy. I am from the Pacific Northwest, we get many heavy rain storms or the tail ends of typhoons or other large storms off the Pacific. Driving home after training at Fort Stevens, I got caught in one of those storms. The road was close to the beach and the wind was blowing sea shells across the road. The wind was out of the southwest, it was blowing beach sand, shells, and the occasional wave across the highway, in the low spots. It was an interesting drive home, had several broken sells in the bed of my p/u, got home well after dark and still had to wash the p/u before calling it a night. In 1991 while in the M.E. for Ops Desert Shield/Storm we had one of those strange orange dust storms, it was creepy and is a story of its own.
