The fact that FH is the only decent open world car game makes me feel desperate, I think GTA6 will end up being a better car game than car games themselves, but hey we still have a long way to go until we see the final product of Solar Crown or so I hope, right?
At least in gta6 we have traffic and pedestrian to make the world alive. The game look empty
It goes without saying that in terms of open world car games, GTA 6 will have more immersion than Forza, NFS, or The Crew, because you can do a whole lot more things than just driving around. The only thing that holds GTA back from these car games are the unusual car physics. If they improve on that, then it’ll most definitely be better. As of now, they aren’t, which is why these other car games exist. Not to mention, GTA doesn’t do any licensing of vehicles. Only way to get the car you want is if you install mods.

The game has a test drive feel to it, but more in the sense of how a ps3 game felt. Getting nostalgia vibes but I’ve been spoilt with how the cars move in gt7, compared to that, this looks very simplistic.
Honestly I feel like the lack of particle effects make it look worse than it actually is. Movement doesn't feel real when the environment doesn't react properly. Also, GT7 just looks absolutely stunning.
A whole bunch of nothing and no release date yet, I bet GTA 6 will be released before this game..

Absolutely, this is not a AAA budget game by comparison to others. It's really impressive what they've built. Especially starting over with a new IP (to them)

Most people here forget how big of an effort this game is. All AAA-racing games on the market now had a huge team behind it with a ton of resources they could use. This developer chose to create something completely from the ground up (even car models!!!), with a smaller budget and team than competitors. What they're doing here is frankly an incredible amount of work and should be appreciated. We can potentially get an awesome game here + KT racing could revive a great game IP with possibly more games to come, whilst also becoming a way bigger player in the gaming industry which would improve the quality of a potential sequel, who knows! I certainly wish them the best and am still very much excited for this game.

The budget for this game is not public as far as I know. Nacon is an AA publisher but that doesn't mean this game will also be AA. The employee count is concerning indeed since they are on the lower side; according to LinkedIn they have "51-200" people working there.
After hearing about the developers complaining about their working conditions , I definitely have low expectations lol
But are the developers even trying is the real question. it looks like a 2015 game even Forza horizon 3 looks better than this. no hate to the developers but after many delays and lot of hype ups, they show us a game that has graphics like BeamNg? wonder what the price would be for this game.
@@praveenrajendran5232You have to take into consideration that this is a AA racing game and NOT a AAA racing game. This means that the budget is smaller compared to games published by EA, Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, etc. that are AAA studios, so they do not have all the resources like the AAA games do. For a AA racing game, the developers are trying their best and it shows.

I like the direction they're going. If they're going for a true Car MMO, i really hope they deliver. The expectation of "always online" means the servers should not die. This game looks amazing, there's no need for a new game.with better graphics in 2-3 years, if they can add constant updates, expansions, and cars to the game, it could really be a good car MMO. Also i really appreciate the open honesty they've had about the state of the game. Being willing to tell us that they aren't releasing the game until they feel like they're giving us an experience they're proud of and we can enjoy is a great look on the dev team as a whole.
Don't forget that the huge amount of resources they created for this game can be reused in a follow-up game. Even if this game lost popularity after 2-3 years, making that second game will be a lot easier compared to making this first one. It's a crazy amount of work they put out here, sadly many people forget that.

@@succulenttrash3343 literally! In terms of game development they're actually going pretty quick. I've been following its development since the moment they bought the IP (I think they had another name back then, BigBen or something) and I'm actually quite impressed. I'm sure the resources they build now are going to be used in other projects as well, because financially it seems nonsensical to only use them for one game.
The servers will die in 10 years and the game disc will become a nice expensive paperweight like The Crew.

They should’ve never showed anything or spoke about this game or a release date until mid 2023. So they would have loads of footage and information to talk about especially if this game scoring in 2024. Even GTA 6 being a triple A studio didn’t set themselves up for failure. They put the release date 2 years later after the first trailer. Why did TDU constantly keep showing and releasing information about a game that is so far from release. With multiple delays lying about several release dates it makes no sense.

Imagine yourself not being able to play GT 7, The Crew 2 and Motorfest, NFS 2015, Test Drive Unlimited Solar crown in just 10 years after they were released. I often come back to the games of my childhood or just doscover racing titles I havent managed to play yet. Recently I started Flatout 2 for the first time, and it's gorgeous. You won't do this with modern racing titles. TDU 2 was my childhood, and when I learned it's going to be online only, I lost all the hype and hope I've had for this game. Screw Nacon, screw Kylotonn. They haven't made any decent racing game anyways. I'm just sad the genre has passed its golden years...
Honest dont care how much they delay it. They can take as long as they need. The terrain and narrow roads is something absolutely spot on. I want to feel like I'm on the edge. The only critique i have is the static camera but that could just be one of many. The graphics look good, as someone who plays a lot of old racing games, i dont see how people can say this looks terrible.
And the particle effects (which add a lot of realism usually) aren't even added in yet. Imo this game looks really good as well. Lots of small details and great amounts of foliage. What I like most is that it doesn't look cartoony like many other racing games nowadays.
You don’t care how long they delay it until they push it to 2025 and this game releases with in 6 months of GTA, Forza Horizon 6, Need For Speed, Call Of Duty Black Ops and 2K all come out next year then if TDU fails releases anywhere near 2025 it’s going to flop I care about details and a good but these Devs have been lying for 3 years straight speaking on release dates and pushing information and gameplay and the game is no where to be found or a real release date this game will flop if it is released after August of 2024
@redhunnid5142 I mean if it flops because of release date but is still a solid game because of delays then I'm fine with that as well. It'll find its place in the racing community. It's also only going to compete with any future Horizon titles if we even get one by then. I don't need to know the progress on it every step of the way, It's got enough things so far that have been shown that is intriguing enough, I can only hope they pull it off and polish it more than anything.
Exactly, no one is appreciating the nuance. Narrow roads is such a selling point, the racing down narrow winding roads in wrc is great can't wait to do that in an open world. No other game has that

The physics clearly don't look anything like BeamNG. Narrow trails/unpaved roads explains why it looks that WAY. BeamNG vehicles are on a 1:1 scale and the roads (paved/unpaved) are also 1:1 in terms of width. That could explain why

He didn't even mention they picked the shooting brake taycan like he said he wished was in Unbound. Personally I'm very happy to see my beautiful boy the Delta back. Literally my second favorite car in TDU2.
I know test drive isn't known for it's cutting edge graphics, but man these demos are looking pretty rough, yes its not out yet, but anyone knows as well as i do that there wont be some miraculous boost in graphics by the time of release.
I do think that the lack of particle effects does a lot here. They add a big part of the realism, so I'm curious to see how it looks when it's added in.
From the last playtest I don't think they need to boost the graphics, they're literally gorgeous in game

i like the social aspect of the game too. 2 years ago me and a friend went on tdu 1 platinum to cruise together talk and listen to music, and we had stops at dealerships and suprised eachother by not telling which car we chose. it was funny when we chose the same car and once it was the same color too hah think we both had chosen a red nsx at some point and kept driving. fun times. i hope to god they release this in 2024 as soon as they can becuase if not gta6 is gonna really hurt their sales a ton as well as the next whatever nfs will be.

remember the old days when i was cruising hawaii in a shelby daytona. Or when i really started playing, in tdu2. That game really gave me some core memories from my childhood.
After that last trailer i wasnt impressed, however this one has reinforced my intial excitement! The environment looks fantastic, physics look better now and I cant wait to explore all those small narrow tracks!
We are essentially paying £70 to rent a game for a few years until the servers shut down. Screw that. I'll wait for a sale.

I always implore developers to take more time to 100% a project versus rushing out an unfinished product. However, if they're going to take that extra time, the game better have been worth the wait! Don't let us down, a lot of us have been wanting a new TD game for a long time now! 🙏

cmon they cant mess up offroad physics they've been working on WRC games for nearly a decade now (WRCG was the last since they dont hold the license anymore)
Their WRC games were already simcade levels of physics. They've stated this one will be a laid back version of those games, you know what that means. They've never been good at off-road physics. It's rare to find good off-road physics in games.
I don't get how so many people complain of the push back? Do you wanna push a broken game on release? Or do you wanna get a game thats actually complete without issues while us fans tell the development what we like and what we don't like
because we have 2 huge upcoming games in the driving territory coming out next year (GTA6 and FH6) so any more of a delay and the Fh6 trailer will completely destroy TDU SC hype

The offline patch when the game is "done" is a really good idea as I believe their reasoning for making it online only is to avoid cheating.
Yeah but nobody ever makes an offline patch except for Gran Turismo because the Japanese people and culture are super respectful like that. Western devs/publishers don't want to allocate money and resources to patch a 10 year old game.
That's not going to happen. And quite honestly. I don't buy a game in the hope that it might get a half-hearted offline mode at some point. Either they do it right and from the start or not at all.

icl I have to agree with everyone else here. I have a bad feeling about the game because the last thing I remember was the showcase of what the game might be like and what the driving experience will be like but up until today I forgot it even existed (aka the game). Now that I think about it this game is reminding me of that game by Ubisoft (x defiant) ppl got hyped they played the betas yet, it was promised last year September/ October. Already 2 months into 2024 still no updates I just hope this doesn't meet the same demise

I was looking forward to this game until the always online requirement was disclosed. The developers could implement server-side anti-cheat protections for online gameplay and still provide an offline, single-player experience that does not require a constant server connection. I hesitate to purchase a game that may be delisted in 10 years, rendering it unplayable indefinitely. The Crew is a perfect example, as it will suffer this fate. Unfortunately, the appeal of Solar Crown has diminished for me given the online requirement.
I see that every racing game ever is still using a 2nd gen Raptor with the shorter cab and not the newer Raptors with the Supercrew Cab :/

every time you start getting reports of a game having delays in launch date you should start worrying about its launch. being that they have already shown actual long length gameplay some months ago is a good indication that at least with PS5 the game would likely be performing at its best (at least at launch), however i am worried about the state of the servers capacity, i am worried about performance on other consoles, i am worried about the open-ness of Solar Crown since it would be the very first TDU game where you can't buy property, only cars. i am worried about traffic density (in the gameplay videos traffic density was extremely scarce - especially for a game taking place on HK island which is one of the densest places on earth...) i am worried, but very excited about TDU Solar Crown. i really hope this game launch (eventually) wont get botched :/
I'd rather have them take their time making the game, then make a half baked game where hackers are going to be prevalent within the first week. I'm glad their taking their time to finish polishing it.

Funny thing is FH6 should be releasing late next year. If this game gets delayed any longer, its going to enter fh6 trailer territory and that alone will be the end of TDU SC
@@kedwyd6535 I doubt they are releasing in 2024 as the updates are still very big for FH5 and they would probably release in 2026 due to an xbox statement with games taking at least 4 years to produce now.

Don’t worry you will have a lot of dust on your machine/es before the game will release.
TDU SC having online only mode sucks, what if you want to play it and have bad connection? what if you go reset the internet? This is why you need solo mode for multiplayer games and switch between the two - look at the OG TDU and TDU2 games - can play alone just fine, but want to join a club means going online
The much bigger problem is when the servers themselves have problems or when the publisher pulls the plug at some point. Then the game is completely dead and nobody can play it any more...
I was pretty hyped up until this trailer dropped but I am extremely worried now. The game clearly can’t release for at least a year, it looks incredibly unfinished…also seems like they are focusing on the same few things you can do, which to me seems like there won’t be much variety in the final game

I didn’t wanna say it but it looks like a cheap FH5.. the car models don’t look amazing in this lighting for some reason, although the overall graphics are nice. Obviously we don’t know what the physics are like but suspension wise doesn’t look great. TDU 2 was amazing, and I hope this game is good but I probably won’t be getting it at release because BeamNG, AC, TCM & Forza exist and we might have AC2 before this even comes out 😂

Personally I don't care about perfect graphics. A game doesn't have to be photorealistic to be enjoyable. It's all about the features and the gameplay. From what we've seen so far, the graphics look on par with The Crew Motorfest, and I'm good with that.
Where is the gameplay, features, story mode, side missions, offline mode, pedestrians, variety of traffic cars and levels of traffic and pedestrian activities all to bring the map to life

The games should not rely on a constant internet connection in the first place. If a game relies so heavily on servers, a simple patch won't do much.

@@redhunnid5142 first of all I didn't say all that, second GTA6 exists(I think), and last the marketing team for TDU isn't dumb. We can't just keep getting trailers every month, they don't post as many trailers so they don't spoil anything, plus when they do post a trailer it refreshes the hype of the game.
