Sadly a lot of people are too nostalgic for the original graphics (or haven't seen the original graphics in quite a while) that they completely dismiss these RTX mods, when they genuinely make the games look better (yes, even Underground 1 and 2, despite them being less complete than this mod at this moment) The reflections, the shadows especially under cars and such, it looks SO much better that it's actually insane that it's possible

No offense but this just looks like every other game right now, I would rather play shitty graphics but feel like I actually play most wanted rather than have generic graphics every other game has nowdays
I just don't have rtx and Don't think graphic is as important either...i probably do id along with rest of mods because if i wanna nice unmodded most wanted i can just get ps2 version with looks best in vanilla form probably ug mods aren't bad already and amplyffies vibes same for most wanted but on the end of the day this games dosen't looks that bad quite nice even
1. Older games often have unique art styles that is lost in a remaster (XIII is the most extreme example, Tomb Raider is the best example of not losing the feel of the og games) 2. The Underground 2 RTX mod made the cars look matte, which will always look worse than glossy or metallic paint

The one thing I never understood was that, big AAA publishers who plan on making Remasters dont ask fans who've actually made Remastered Mods such as the Need For Speed: Underground Definitive Edition mod, all EA would need to pay for is the license for the music, cars and the actors likeness, as well as Paying the original mod maker for it, it would save money and development time
Even then some Car companies and Charaters minds will change. They can always outright deny.

It's not as easy nor simple as it sounds. Music and Car companies are very stingy with their property as well as actors who play a role. Plus, having to hire new developers when you already have a team that could do it; it's all a big mess. Developing a Remake or Remaster of old games, especially one with licenses is difficult. Especially racing games. Hardly any old racing games were re-released or remade.

Besides the garage, the RTX remaster just looks worse IMO. Cohesive artstyle beats fancy lighting and graphics anytime.
It's a game from the 2000s that represents a 2000s street racing scene that was popular in video games and people are trying to take that and modernize it in a way… Idk the new lighting and stuff takes away from the edgy environment IMO.
90%+ of me actually don't want an official NfS Most Wanted Remaster because I know for a fact that they will screw it up. This masterpiece of a street racing game should be remembered for what it is and a lackluster remaster would just leave a bad taste in my mouth. The modders are true mvp's for adding stuff that we've been wanting for this game.

I still prefer the OG art style of the game. These mods, while they do make the game look incredible, (apart from the car paint either being too shiny or too flat) it takes away a big element of what made these games so special.
Yea people don't understand how much the old artstyle and lightning play a role in the game. The original looks so much more edgy and I can't quite place it but it feels better. This remaster just looks weird… but I’m glad others like it… I have the OG version on my computer anyways. For myself I can say it's definitely not nostalgia either because the first time I played this game was a year ago lmao. These new racing games are to vibrant and colorful.

What need it is a Player/ Ryan cooper remaster story arc, were each game is a story dlc expantion. Also have a playable offline mode of all the other games expanding the wourld even more. Maby if possible have a dbadge mode to keep the game playable online.

Reminds me of "Core X Most Wanted", which was a fan remake of Most Wanted using the Unity engine. And like almost all fan-remakes of 3D games, it's abandoned at a very early state. Even the download they provided is also gone because it's Discord-only and the server was no longer, IIRC.

Hey blackpanthaa neat video. Yeah in my opinion nfs most wanted 2005 nfs underground 1 and are my favourite nfs games of the early to mid 2000s and hot pursuit 2 is too. I like nfs carbon too but nfs most wanted has a fuller fledged career mode in my opinion. It has better progression in my opinion. Yes i hear you too the game is addicting to play. I find the cops to get quite aggressive in the later career mode. The pursuits are quite punishing as when you unlock the higher heat levels they deploy roadblocks with spike strips. Those are a deathtrap. Once you hit them its game over and its an immediate bust. Whats also punishing is if you get busted more than once if you exceed the limit of impound strikes you lose your car i think. You can get up to a maximum of 5 impound strikes if you get them beating a blacklist rival. I dont mean to spoil it. Its a fun game. I think the physics work well. Youre right blackpanthaa the motion blure is good in those games. In my opinion too it helps give you a sense of speed. I dont mean to badmouth nfs carbon its a fun game but the career mode is too short its much shorter than nfs most wanted. If you rush through it could take less than a day to complete. For example i think it could take 3 and a half to 4 hours if you rush through the game. Nfs most wanted takes days in my opinion. Its a fun game i just wish in my opinion it had a more dense career mode. With those new rtx mods i think the game looks more modern. If you iron out the kinks like the cop lights not flashing and other glitches it might look even more improved than that. I like the game in its original graphics i think the best console for it is the xbox 360 one. I think the graphics are the most sharp on that. I know its not regarded as a good need for speed game but i kind of like nfs undercover on ps3 and xbox 360. I think its a bit underrated its not perfect. I dont mean to be excessivly critical if it had more development i know apparently ea split blackbox games into 2 teams one that made nfs pro street and the other one made nfs undercover. If it had development time it maybe would be more polished than it is. In my opinion i think nfs undercover and nfs the run are the better nfs games of the late 2000s and early 2010s. I think nfs the run although i wish it had a longer career mode is the best game since nfs undercover that blackbox made before they shut down. But i do think that nfs most wanted 2005 is a gem of a beginning of open world racing games with a more dense career mode in my opinion. Take care blackpanthaa and i look forward to future videos.

My favorite thing about the cops was how realistic they were, if you obeyed the speed limit they didn’t come after you. Now you can go past a cop at 235 “I think I spot that racer” (proceeds to drive 55mph eating a donut)

I think as impressive as this mod is, it makes it look like every other contemporary racing game out now. Something I feel those old NFS games did well was create a visual language with each of their games. UG was very Fast and Furious inspired so late night cities with bright neons. MW leaned heavily into the 2000s punk, edgy aesthetic (with a bit of Matrix thrown in). Carbon was Most Wanted but set in a cooler Vegas inspired town at night. Stripping away those vibes kind of removes their feel. I wish these mods tried ro recapture the vibes as well, not just make everything realistic

would be cool if EA was able to bring this back in an updated/remastered Need for Speed Most Wanted Legacy. Which has the original Most Wanted campaign brought back. Maybe add a few new challenges, etc. As well, would be cool if they did a Need for Speed World mode which has the Most Wanted, Carbon, and the Most Wanted 2012 worlds. So can do the whole online game mode but there is the main original campaign that can be played through. but they did hint at Razor in the Unbound in the BMW mission

I think the best thing to do with these rtx mods is to wait until they are polished and finished to get the best experience and that they maybe if possible to be able to run on other graphiccards outside the nvidia family

There's a distinct thing that I want to point out: The composition. Yes, the RTX mod improves on lighting - no wonder, it is much more advancecd technology. But when watching it side by side, I can only state that the composition of dark and rusty down & outlaw gets lost comlpetely. It is this that I makes NFS MW 05 iconic. When the game would have released with the RTX lighting, it probably would not be as iconic as it is now and if the RTX mod strips away the sense of speed and dark composition that defines the Outlaw factor in Most Wanted, it will simply not feel the same. Ultimately, graphics do not matter. Yes - I said it. They do not. Because a style of graphics does not define a genre as many games point out these days. The ambience and the composition of lights and colors will be what you remember together with what you experienced - the gameplay, not how well shaded the brake light was on your car. Because after the 2nd turn it does not matter to you. If this mod comes out they need to make sure that they can keep the soul of the composition. Otherwise I will stand by the original post-processing, as it just transmits what Most Wanted was. A game that was about pure escalation and destruction and that took itself seriously on that mindset in color, sound and gameplay. After all post processing is built to hide imperfections and with the new lighting of the RTX mods, the world feels emptier and a lot more dated because of the lack of detail that becomes visible.
This is what MW looked to me when I was 12 😄

They would definitely need to rework the LoD culling on the map to not have shadows pop in all over the place for a remaster.

This looks really good, but I'd have to see it with the more dark/overcast time of day (like you showed in the original graphics comparison. I'm not sure if this completely recaptures the look of the original as it stands (not to disparage this mod, it is an impressive change).
