  • That 12th round was the best thing that could've happened to Fury. If he didn't get knocked down he would've scraped a close decision, but he wouldn't have approached the rematch the same way. He probably would have attempted to box slick again, and could've potentially been knocked out for real. That 12th round taught him that it was necessary to back Wilder up and keep him under constant pressure to ensure victory.

    @Craig-wb4hc@Craig-wb4hc3 жыл бұрын
    • They actually did their research well on the Judges by bringing in a Canadian, Brit and Mexican. The Canadian was likely to do his job probably and score the fighters their due, the Brit would be too anxious and gutless to not look impartial in American territory and will try to score it as evenly and possible, and the Mexican is of an older generation. He probably preferred the traditional brawling/slugging style from the likes of Chavez Sr and Morales and would be biased towards Wilder from the get go. Either Wilder won or it was a draw, Fury was not walking away with the belts that night.

    • That’s not what i was paying attention to tho.. What sticks out to me in this fight was Fury is not a knockout artist but wilder is and shown in it like everyone thought he would. Tyson is a great all around boxer but not a power puncher so we all knew this was gonna at 12 round fight. Wilder was able to take Tysons punches and so did Tyson whenever he got up from the canvas. I’m a huge fan of both fighters but something was way off on there 2nd fight being able to take down wilder like he did. Hurt him every shot he threw was abnormal something was totally not right in the 2nd fight as you can see here looks like a fair fight nothing seems out the ordinary just 2 good fighters going at it. But Tyson was never a power puncher but he was that night you could see it on wilders face whenever he got hit. something was way off in there 2nd fight. You can see here wilder is a power puncher his record backs it proves it. they went 12 rounds so it’s clear that wilder was able to take Tysons punches. So what happened in there 2nd fight that put wilder down without landing a solid shot every time?.

  • The draw made sense because of the 2 knockdowns, so pivotal. What’s interesting is the 12th round knockdown Fury is on his knee on the 10th second. He isn’t on his feet until the 11th second. They have to have people that watch this or get rid of the 10 second knockdown rule. Also force Fury to put his gloves on all the way. That being said... I’m a fan of both of these guys, it’s REALLY HARD not to like them both. Can’t wait for the THIRD, Wilder will change a lot of stuff I’m sure. He really stopped doing what made him so good 10 or so fights ago and has ONLY relied on his power especially his last 5. I’m sure he’ll change that

    • Mr Shelton Incorrect. Yes there is a 10 count that is not Don on a stopwatch but it is Supposed to be exactly 10 seconds. Referees go through accounting training to ensure that their count is exactly 10 seconds. 👍🏻

      @michaelhess1843@michaelhess18433 жыл бұрын
    • I’m saying his “Ten Count” was closer to 12, and when part of your job is to have a very accurate 10 count that you practice, it should be closer to 10 than 12. I’m not a Wilder protector I’m a MASSIVE Tyson Fury fan, I have a similar story to him, but my demons came from military service. I also have the ability to be objective and look at things fairly. On that night that refs 10 count was straight booty. That isn’t debatable. However, it also made for one of the most exciting 12th rounds in heavyweight boxing history. With that said, I never stated it was the wrong decision to delay the count or even that Wilder should’ve won the fight, all I said is that it was interesting and maybe the 10 count rule should be removed and maybe stoppages should be based on the judgement of the ref more like MMA, instead of some arbitrary BS count that doesn’t really signify whether the fighter is truly finished or not, this fight is a great case in point. Also, the timekeeper at ringside is supposed to use arm signals for the ref immediately following a knockdown to call out or signify the seconds that have passed since the knockdown occurred. Some state fight commissions are more strict about it than others, but when each state has its own athletic and fight commissions it’s to be expected that they’ll have different views on such nuances.
