EPIC Solo Goose Hunt on ICE! (Limited Out) | Goose Hunting 2022
Matt is back out for a solo goose hunt. He sets up the spread and waits. Once the geese start flying, the action gets crazy! Hard to beat goose hunting like this when they're just dumping in the spread.

When you're in a good spot, things fall into place like that. Good job.
Thanks!
I had a smile on my face that whole hunt!
It was a blast!
You're a bad human being.
Lmao when I saw the fake goose 😂 🤣
😂
I love the hot hands on the shotkam😂 Nice shooting Matt!
Thanks buddy! Got to do what you got to do late season haha
Epic day. So, inspirational.
Thanks!
Congrats! You can't ask for better decoying birds than that!!! God Bless!!!👍😉🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Myron!
One thing I like about hunting solo, not that many ppl to hide. Better working bird. Also knowing the X. Great hunt.
Exactly. Lot less to worry about with movement, cover, etc
4:13 what a shot!
Thanks!
Big honkers gotta love ‘em
Yessir
Зачётная охота и гуси летят и попадаешь👍

Thanks Bob!
That intro was awesome !!!!🤙🇺🇸
Thanks!
Very nice movie. Exciting to watch
Thanks!
Talk about working them in perfect!! Nice hunt. Amazed that no ducks swung by to check it out.
Thanks! Saw a few mallards but they weren't interested
Sweet goose hunt. Time for some pulled goose!
Thanks Chase! Cooking some right now
@@HighPrairieSportsmen have you ever made pulled goose? One of my favorite ways to cook it.
@@SomewhereInWisconsin yep, great way to cook it up.
Great hunting, beautiful shots! Thanks for this video! My goose hunting will only start in mid-May.
Thanks!
Love seeing the geese on the deck.
Me too
Молодец. Супер охота. не жадничая, один два с налета. класс!!!
Thanks!
Great hunt... it's fun... good work Matt...Blessings
Thanks!
That was a great video! I watch pretty well every waterfowl video I can find on KZhead and that one is quite possibly my favourite one to date. Keep em coming!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Many snow geese were harvested by you guys. It will be the best day. God bless you all.
👍🏻
That last clip from the ice was just fantastic! I kept waiting and finally they come into view, crawling across the deck, right at the camera. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! On the raw footage you can see them the whole way. It didn't come out as clean as I was hoping on that shot but oh well.
@@HighPrairieSportsmen I know how that goes! Regardless, it was still sweet because a guy knows its coming.
I like the way you set up your decoys and now I am going to try it!!
Good luck!
Very enjoyable video watching this awesome goose hunt. Thank you for sharing this hunt. Reminds me of my early years throughout the 70’s through mid 90’s in Kentucky and Illinois. You did an awesome job son and again thank you. Very enjoyable!!!
Appreciate it!
Lol
Holy cow! FANTASTIC vid brother! Thx!💪🏻👍🙌👌👏
Thanks Bob!
What a fantastic hunt !! Does get any better than that!!
No sir!

As much as I love birds & geese I sure do love hunting them. Both adoring & relying!
Same here. Just as fun to watch them
Nice hunt. Particularly liked the rubber banded hand warmer on gun forearm. Creative thinking.
Thanks!
You're hunts are the best, man. I'll rewatch them all during the off season. I have to wait until October up here in Kodiak AK
Appreciate that!
What an awesome setup! You are the hunting "machine". Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it!
Nice late season hunt.
Thanks!
LOVE Your Channel. BEST regards from Spain ❤🎉😊
Appreciate it!
Watch nearly every video just started this year and learning from you👍
That's awesome! Happy to help
This is not right. This is God gifted
This is where food comes from
Another awesome hunt. You've had a great season. We are just about done here in Utah now.
Thanks! We're getting closer here. About a month left of dark geese.
great lots of geese in winter👍
Thanks!
That was a badass hunt dude!
Thanks Chris!
I think you are the best waterfowl shots on YT....you continue to impress me with your one-shot kills and reserve not to empty the gun each time. Beautiful camera footage too. Great job. Kinda jealous because I used to do that on the Chesapeake Bay.
Appreciate that!
I also had some great shooting in Chestertown MD.
Excellent hunt. I see you have a very good shotgun. Greetings from Colombia my friend!
Thanks!
Awesome as usual...jealous as usual! Great video and hunt!
Thanks!
Awesome video dude. LOVE THE GOOSE HUNTS.If I ever go to the state we hunt we should plan a hunt sometime.
Thanks! Sounds good
Great vid as always. Would really like to see a gear video and how you store all of your decoys during the off season
Thanks! I just stack them in a spare bedroom haha
We’ll done! That was a pleasure to watch.
Appreciate it!
Back around 1980 I had an epic duck hunt on ice. The plan was for my buddy and I to take my little Jon Boat out to a sand bar type island and hunt there, because everything shallow was frozen. As we drove the 1 1/2 hour drive the wind kept picking up. It was too windy to try to make it out to the island, so we decided to hunt the shoreline. All of the land leading to the shore was private, but we could access it by putting in at the bridge and motoring over. Even the water under the bridge had whitecaps it was so windy. We drove through the thin ice slowly until it got too thick. Then we'd run the boat up onto the ice, jump up and down to break through, back up and do it again. We were only halfway there and it was getting light. We could see ducks flying everywhere over the shallows. About then the prop hit a chunk of ice and popped the shear pin. I didn't have a spare, so we were dead in the water. I noticed lots of ducks flying down like they were trying to land in the open water behind us, but our movements scared them off. I told my buddy we might as well try hunting before trying to get back. We only threw 3 decoys in the narrow strip of open water behind us and then we sat real still. In no time we were covered with ducks and got our limits as quick as we could reload. I was the only one wearing chest waders, so I got "volunteered" to drag the boat back to the bridge. The water was only about 3 feet deep where we were hunting, but it kept getting deeper as we got close to the bridge. We only had one paddle and my buddy was using it to keep the ice broken up in front of me. It had refroze after we had went through it earlier. By the time I got back to the bridge the icy water was just starting to come over the top of my chest waders and it was COLD!!! That truck heater never felt so good and my buddy offered to clean all the ducks, even mine, because I did the hard part of dragging us back in. So, being the nice guy that I am...I let him!
Now that's a good story
@@HighPrairieSportsmen Thanks. I can't tell you how many times I've had that little 10 foot Jon boat out in the ice and snow, hunting ducks and geese on public lakes. I used some 1/2 inch electrical conduit and made a framework for a duck blind that would fold down when traveling. I didn't have a dog, so I always wore my chest waders and did my own retrieving, if it was shallow enough. Every time I got back in the boat I'd drip water everywhere and it was so cold that before long I'd have ice covering the seats and the floor. But, those bad weather days were some of the best hunting I ever had. I'm old now (almost 70) and videos like yours brings back all those fond memories. I thank you so much for your efforts and I know when you get to be my age you too will have lots of good memories to look back on. Good hunting and stay safe!
хорошие налеты🎯
Thanks!
best video of the year! more goose videos!
Appreciate that! Coming soon
Sweet hunt nice setup
Thanks Kevin!
Sweet limit and great photography, as usual. I used to love hunting by myself.
Thanks Paul!
👍🤝 Супер, красиво и удачных налетов.
Thanks!
Amazing goose hunting alone
Thanks!
Really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
That was Awesome !
Thanks!
Great Hunt main Nice shooting
Thanks!
I have an almost full lanyard of bands, I don’t know how many geese I had to harvest to do that, I did get one of the double banded reward bands. Goose hunting is a ton of fun. Glad to see you all harvest some geese. I really like the BlackCloud shotshells
Thanks! Still waiting on my first goose band
@@HighPrairieSportsmen It takes years to fill a lanyard, but also some luck. Your shooting is spot on, which will make it easier. Hunting alone will also be useful so there are no in the field disagreements over who shot which bird sometimes politics like that can get in the way when you have 4-5 people in a blind. I also preferred being by myself that way no drama. I did know of one instance a hunter I knew was hunting geese alone, in winter and for reasons unknown, he drowned in a frozen lake while retrieving a downed goose, interestingly he was over limit when they investigated the hunting accident. No goose is worth dying over, good luck, the videos are great.
This hunter is pro and respectful
Thanks!
Молодец, красиво. Без лишних выстрелов и ажиотажа. А то посмотришь некоторые ролики, стреляют пока патроны не кончается, как будто на пару лет запасаются мясом или последний раз на охоте.
Thanks!
gj for keaping the limit on this dude... gj and have a nice hunts
Thanks!
More geese content please! Love the videos!
Coming soon! Thanks!
Yes. LOVE that goose content! Matt do you ever try to flag when they are a ways out? (Not that u needed to flag in THIS vid🤣👍) Also have u tried using a short reed call? I find then VERY difficult to master :( But I have an old Zink Moneymaker that’s fairly user friendly… it’s just very loud. I find it impossible to hit some of the notes I hear in KZhead. But can cluck and honk fairly good. Just kinda frustrating to me. I know they say practice practice practice but man I just must not be cut out for it🤣 to be a great caller.
@@bobcrone6151 Yeah, I had my flag with me. Didn't need it like you said haha. I was actually using two short reeds: Zink Power Clucker and Zink Nightmare On Stage. One's more high-pitched so I like it for little geese. They do take some getting used to.
Nothing spot hunting the birds please.kind.the.animals & birds.
Great hunt Matt enjoy watching you vid. Fav hunt channel!!!
Appreciate it!
Great hunt man, wish we could have a good hunt like that
Thanks!
Good hunt. I expected the one you couldnt shoot to have a band😂
So did I 😂
Great shooting.

Next time I go to the grocery goose is on my list.
It's tasty
@@HighPrairieSportsmen I tried goose one time, tastes like duck but is greasier. How does Canadian goose taste compared to domestic. Is it oily as well. In Calgary, because(?) of climate change there are more resident geese in the winter.
@@francissantos7448 it's lean but if you cook it right, very good.
Damm the double kill
Thanks
The best!..
Thanks!
I've always been impressed by your restraint when choosing your shots! You seldom take that third shot. It's interesting to see a different style than someone just unloading every chance they get (like I do)...
Thanks!
The fact you swatted makes me respect you more
You ain't seen nothing yet 😏

Thanks! Good luck!
Hey, im also from Ontario, I’ve never been hunting before but want to try it and experience it. Do you have any advice on where to start?

Great hunt AGAIN MATT THAT LOOKED LIKE A FUN ONE IS THAT A BIG RIVER GOOSE CALL YOU ARE USING .
Thanks! No, I was using a Nightmare On Stage and Power Clucker, both from Zink.
