Honda and Suzuki were building indestructible engines in the 70s that are looking like they'll make it to their 50th birthdays (mine are about to hit 40). Those bikes are beautiful in their mechanical simplicity. None of the American brands seem to be making the entry level motorcycles at an affordable price point to bring in new riders. You can't tell most of the story of American motorcycles without foreign brands. I'm all in favor of hyping the American brands, but most of them don't return the patriotism that I want to see to be an enthusiast on that basis. Even if they do, they don't have the market share that would make their biography relevant.

The Italians knew how to do MotoGp-style bikes so H-D gave them money and ended up becoming effectively a two-time 250GP champion. · Many years later, mainly due to Erik Buell, H-D tried to make a pure sportbike out of their XR750. The result? The more than questionable VR1000. It never won an AMA Superbike race. · Erik Buell ended up making its own company (Buell), making sports and naked bikes with H-D engines, it failed but had some cool-looking bikes. · H-D used to have a single-brand cup as a sideshow to AMA Superbike with their XR1200 muscle bike. The only Harley that would be kinda cool would be the new streetfighter if they actually pull it off without going bankrupt. I mean Harley is literally just a status symbol. I also told you, they already killed off the Bronx, the Bronx was the Streetfighter. They are however still making the 1250 custom which will have the same 145hp liquid cooled vtwin that the Pan America will have (similar motors to the Vrods, these are the Revolution X models, the Vrod being the revolution). There is also a new liquid cooled vvt Sportster in the making since they don't pass emissions in most countries now. The best handling Harley is the XR1200, and almost any Sportster could outhandle the Vrod. Yes, they were quick in a straight line, but that's about it. • For real. How many young people can buy a motorcycle the price of a car?

      @Millicente@Millicente4 жыл бұрын
    • your kind of right i thought they were pretty expensive but it seems to only be the big twins that are really expensive went into the Harley shop to get oil and looked over a 2019 sportster 883 with about 5 delivery miles and sticker price was only 8k, and to me that does not seem to bad. however when i looked at the big twins i was like holy s**t. but to say all of them are the price of a car is inaccurate. the 1200 was just under 10k as well. i have no desire to buy a big twin as they are way to heavy for me. i own a 74 sportster 1000 xlch that has had a lot of motor work. bike weighs about 370lbs without me on it.
