    • Hey Canadian Lad, I think I got the reason why Loki wasn't able to control his time-slipping before but was able to do it afterwards - When Loki goes in the past to meet O.B who was a sci-fi writer, O.B says to Loki that his time-slipping is not random and asks why does he need to time-slip. Loki answers by saying He needs to protect the TVA from what's coming(which we get to know is not true). Then, O.B says if that's the real 'why' that is guiding him, he should be able to time-slip.... Cut to next scene when Loki meets Sylvie - Loki tells to Sylvie that he wants his friends back and that is the reason he wants Sylvie to help her. And after that he was able to time-slip. I think that is only the reason why Loki couldn't control his time-slipping before but after finding his real *WHY* (as O.B mentioned ) he could control it.

It was the most beautiful, powerful, perfect call-back, and such a poignant reflection of how Loki has come full circle. But it gets even better if you play what happens next in both clips. What is Odin's response to his son at the end of Thor? 'No, Loki.' What is Mobius and Sylvie's response to their friend at the end of Season 2? 'No!' yells Mobius, just before Sylvie screams 'Loki!' Again, it's a perfect mirror. the writers have ABSOLUTELY smashed it out of the park here.

It felt longer than I expected, surpassing the duration of an entire two-hour movie. They covered everything I was skeptical about. This episode alone has resurrected the hope I had lost for Marvel because everything is perfect the writing is marvelously outstanding, cinematography is astonishing, and the score is wonderful and epic. This is the definition of a perfect climax. Tom's performance was out of this world, and so was the entire cast's. This is the Marvel everyone wanted. Seriously, I didn't want this episode to end; it was just too good. The writers deserve a raise, honestly. And now I genuinely think Loki is the most powerful being in all of the MCU, including Thor. This belief is rooted in the fact that he's the keeper of Yggdrasil, the tree of life, the holder of the entire infinity multiverse, and the one literally carrying the MCU on his back. It's the process of taking something broken (typically something like pottery), and using resin mixed with a powdered metal (usually gold) to repair the cracks. You put the item back together, and fill in the cracks with this highly visible metallic mixture that restores the object to its original shape, while *highlighting* the fractures. It's a means of repair that doesn't erase the damage. It demonstrates that the damage is now part of the item's history, part of its character.

But here not only does he fulfill his glorious purpose and holds in his hand an unimaginably powerful and fragile "ecosystem" of timelines -- he saves the multiverse by destroying the loom! so he fulfills his glorious purpose at last, but also that he successfully saves everyone when instead of creating something like a better version of the multiplier - he destroys what is! • Exactly! Throughout it all, Loki is still Loki - he still has a penchant for chaos and destruction. But now the goal of the chaos is to allow free will for everybody, and the goal of the destruction is to obliterate oppressive systems. That's one reason I found his character arc so resonant and believable.

  • He may seem alone at the end, but he certainly isn't gonna get bored. He can watch across all the universe, all the possibilities, from the start of the time till the end. Now there are two things here : 1. He has infinite time. 2. He is insanely smart, a god, knows magic personally taught by the greatest witch of Asgard (his and Thor's mother, Freya), and he already has spent centuries in learning and mastering the science and mechanics of the universe (when he was trying to save the loom.) He is gonna learn so much, get so wise and experienced and with time (idk even the concept of time holds here since he is now outside of time but for sake of argument let's assume) he is only gonna get so powerful and knowledgeable. Loki just became the God of the Multiverse, not just the God of Stories.

When somebody needs him, he can talk to them like that. IOW, it was always that way. So even though there was clearly a progression and change from Loki's perspective, any observer looking at the fabric of the universe would only ever see Yggdrasil, no matter if it's the stoneage of world 616, or the far future, because Loki's Yggrasil is the ultimate and final shape of the multiverse.

That talk between Loki and Mobius about choosing burdens was chefs kiss, as well as Loki intertwinng the branches and holding them together as the God of Stories was mindblowing To all those people who think Marvel is in shambles, than they definetly need to see this show, because its one of the best projects they've released in a while. Apparently Tom Hiddlston's 14 year journey as Loki is also finished after this finale and honestly its such a perfect way to end it if you ask me.

  • One thing I noticed that I really liked was mobius telling the story of the 2 hunters going to prune the 8 year old boy, and the writers showed mobius having 2 sons - defiantly looked around 8 years old. Even when he was taken off of his branched time line, he still hesitated to prune a young kid that somehow subconsciously reminded him of his sons he forgot he had. It wasn't even necessary to give mobius that kind of connection, but they did and that story - that message to loki would not have had the same level on enpact otherwise.
