A larger round hole near the top of the dome may be better- rats could get in and mice could still get in. It would have caught the Hundredth Mouse! Worth a test?
I don't see it?
In the UK that link automatically sends me to a different mousetrap (flip side bucket lid mouse trap). I assume it is because your specific trap is not available on the uk website, so the amazonians send buyers to a different trap. You might need to add a warning or something to your description. Looks like a great trap, congratulations.
They don't deliver to the UK. 😢
Let's count the days or weeks from now until the copies start appearing for sale.
You didn't have to show that 1 mouse. But you did. That's integrity and honesty.
And let's be real, that mouse was literally 1 in 100. A 99% success rate is still amazing. Edit: Yes, I get it, he caught 100 mice and one got away, meaning 101 mice shown. But guess what, he had to catch that extra one to account for the one that got away, which got away from the original 100, requiring that extra one be caught. It's still a 99% success rate because the extra was extra, and the test was to 100. Oh, and to the guy saying 99% is bad... how's your batting average?
That mouse had some serious skills. GG acrobat mouse
If they get rid of the corners inside the tunnel it would improve it further
That mouse was dangerous somebody gotta find it 😂 let's hope it doesn't teach any others
The one that got away is what made this video & channel more realistic.
Can't believe he's releasing a WMD on 9/11... (Weapon of Mice Destruction)
😂😂
Oh good one! Lol😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Alright alright. That deserves a like. Lol.
Slightly disrespectful
This is actually genius. You deserve to become a huge success from this patented technology.
I love the fact that you won't promote products that you don't use. Thank you for that.
Why not find a product that you do use and ask to promote it?
He uses almost every mousetrap.
@Acecool he's used them but if he doesn't like the product he's always said so and doesn't promote it as a good product. But yea he has used tons of various traps

"we included ramps" is the best part of this video
I have a question/suggestion for your trap. Would you consider making the lid transparent? I’m considering buying it but I live out in the woods and I would place this trap outside my home, maybe even dog a hole and place the bucket in it to make it easier for rodent to access the trap. My worry is that snakes will also go into the trap. I really don’t want to go to remove the trap each time not knowing what to expect and have snakes in there, as I’m terrified of them. The popular bait traps one might see against a commercial building also have a transparent lid. It would also help in seeing if we caught something without having to remove the lid. Anyways, just a suggestion. Really hope you read this and considering making it transparent!
The trap is only a bucket lid, so you could certainly put it on a clear bucket!
@@localriceeater yeah but for my purposes I was actually thinking of burying it so rodents will have an easier time going in.
@@thecapone45Yeah, they do seem to have a very difficult time running up the ramp. Many have to stop and take a break halfway up. They're probably smokers. 😒
@@mhub3576 lol. Yes! My whole thing was so that it would be easier for rats mice and who knows what else to fall in. But I am terrified of snake and I’m just afraid one day I’ll pop open that lid and a snake willl be some inches away from my hands. 😱😱😱
@thecapone45 Yeah I hate snakes too.
Congratulations. This is a victory for humanity. There's an old saying, "Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door." I hope that's true for you!
PLEASE invent a DIZZY DUNKER for R.A.T.S.!!!

Shawn Woods "The Greatest Mouse Trap Ever Made" Me... throwing all of my money at the computer! Take my money, Shawn. If you invented it, and you're selling it, I'm buying it. Thank you for keeping us entertained, and for your introduction of so many ways to keep mice/rodents out of our farm buildings. Thumbs UP!
You belong on a farm for life. Humans developed a better trap more than 4000 years ago. It is called a cat.
Thanks for that, my cat plays with mice and is incredibly effective, but I need traps where she can't go. But you're right, I do belong on a "farm for life". :) I'm not sure the cat was "developed by humans"? @@brentnevius2849

Great idea and the fact you followed it through to production is awesome.
Good trap Shawn. Glad you teamed up with Rinne on this. Win-Win for them also. Only thought I had was the Weasel probably won't be able to go in with the end caps now if someone with chickens might want to trap them. Thanks again for all the reviews.
It was only a matter of time before Shawn was going to invent the perfect trap. And here we are!
Out of context, this is a great horror story.
What if 2 mice worked in tandem, one on each side to balance each other and no one falls down.
@@alexman8800 I don’t think we’ve ever seen mice working together on this channel but I suppose it could happen! Probably a good question for Shawn.
Do a KZhead search on “bucket trap fail vs true best rat trap kill 400” and “prove why 99% of traps fail kill 400”! Know the true❤
But Canada his mice too. Billions. He forgot about Amazon Canada?
I love that you got the makers of your previous "best mousetrap ever" (the Flip & Slide) to make this one for you. Such a display of respect on both sides.
That video must’ve made the company a insane ton of money, and this collaboration will bring in even more. It has little to do with respect lol. It’s called business
@@stadtjer689I mean, he could have competed with them instead of working with them. If he didn't respect the company, he wouldn't have approached them, and if they didn't respect him, they wouldn't have entertained the offer and just kept making their own already-successful product.
@@stadtjer689I don’t do business with an entity I don’t respect. Maybe you do?
Congratulations on the new trap! That is well designed! So glad to see youe succeess.... You're going to make a tone of money off that! I'll be buyin some of these when I get back into farming. Thanks for all your hard work and research.... It means a lot more than you know to some of us!
you should remove the corners of the lid present within the plastic cage. thats why the prototype worked so well
Thought Shawn would have learned to watermark his videos by now. 😅 Chinese copies in 3 … 2 …

I have so many mice in my garage, coop, and barn that I bought a set of two from Amazon. Can’t wait to see what I catch.
How is it going?
Two months later . . .
@@ordulf7193 I think she is stuck. Send help
Update?
How was your counterfeit mouse trap from Amazon? Is it as good as the real thing?
Honestly, it's good that one mouse got away. "Catches over 99% of mice in real world testing!" sounds way more believable than "catches 100% of mice!" Plus saying 100% would prob be an invitation for a lawsuit. Good job, little escape artist. You saved the day.
Easy to make it 100%, just remove the triangular ledges in the corners. That's what the one successful mouse used
@@jonwelch564 you say that, then a random super mouse finds a way out of that trap too 😂
Yeah, maybe they could be removed, but I suspect you'd have to add some material for structural integrity of the lid supporting the dome and all.
Well achhhtuallyh, 100 out of 101 mice is 99.01% (rounded)
I gotta give it to that one mouse that escaped, he earned it.
they will eventually all learn
Yes the mice that are smart enough to escape the death trap are the ones that will require future generations of better traps. @@cristibaluta
The way to stop that one escaper mouse would be for the yellow lid to not have a ledge inside the cover area. Otherwise great trap!
This is the correct answer. Hope a revision to the design is coming soon!
@brettvanleeuwen1786 yeah because the reviews are not promising
@@sebastianthehotsaucedude5473People gave poor reviews because they bought opaque buckets!
I've been subbed for a long time, probably a couple years, maybe even three or four. I haven't seen a video of yours on my feed for a longggg time. The algo been ignoring you but glad this one popped up!
The one mouse that got away is a super mouse. It's off to breed an army of super mice to take over the world.
Yup - he was The Brain trying to rescue Pinky.
Thanks, shawn
AKA - Rat King
We talking about China lol
@@BonesJones85rat king is something entirely different where multiple rats get tails knotted together and can't get out, so eventually die.
Raise the entrance hole 1/2" or so, and even that one mouse wouldn't have escaped. There's no way he could CLIMB up to it from the inside without causing the spin.
meh, put some motion sensors and force it to spin/push the basterd down.
This is the equivalent of a Deathstar for mice. Fantastic design. I'd really appreciate one for rats though. They are the bane of my existence.
I have to agree - I caught it and it never stops working - no escape, easy to set up - its everything Shawn says!
YES!! I was hoping you'd end up designing and marketing one. Make one for rats also! NYC needs them!
So does DC.... 😏
So does Florida.
@@SuperJ213 Unfortunately, using little children as bait is frowned upon........
@@eclecticmemes ha ha ha ha well do it. we have too many people here anyways!!
That said, wouldn't you need larger than a 5 gallon bucket to trap NYC rats given their size.
I don't really even need a trap that big, but I will buy one to support you and this channel, and your family. Well done.
Nicely done, Shawn!
Heck yess! Love the device and the story! Good job
Make a commercial grade one for rats also. Farmers/industrial would love you. I shoot them with a night vision scope and a .22 air rifle.
Years ago I saw a documentary about native peoples who live on islands and have problems with mice and rats. They dig pits and bait them, but make the bait unreachable. After serval mice /rats are trapped in the pit and begin to starve, they start eating each other. The claim made is that the mice /rats become cannibalistic and when they are down to a few mice / rats, they lower down rope for them to climb out. These released mice /rats retain the cannibalistic nature and begin hunting and eating other mice /rats preferring the young ones and by doing so they work to help keep down the population. They also believed that these cannibalistic ones taught the behavior to their offspring as well. Supposedly with a year the island would see drops of up to 90% in the mice /rat populations.
that's morally questionable but i would do that anyway
"The rat king" I belived its called.
It seems unbelievable
Okay, but then you're stuck on an island of psychotic bloodthirsty rats
@@joshuaewalker the rats eat each other, not you lol. When the population is low enough, adding natural predators like snakes, they have periods of almost no rats, mice, until more come in from boats. I guess if the island is nice you could deal with allot
So extremely happy for you, I've watched almost all of your videos and learned so much about how to keep rodents out of our home. Thank you for all of your endless knowledge share, it is truly amazing that you are so willing to teach others and expect nothing in return. You are the best Shawn!!
Nice. Cool to see this product come from so much hard work
RIP those trapped mice who suddenly found a ferret dropping into their prison cell.

imagine the scene in the morning, blood everywhere
Or a python
Imagine the 100 mice! Actual pool of blood.

Love to see you invented your own mousetrap! I hope it does really well!! Not sure if I'm in the minority or not, but if you took on sponsors to help you keep the channel going, I wouldn't mind, it's easy enough to ignore, and I get that people have to do this and be able to support themselves
I second this. I have to put up with them all the time and I realize that it's just a fact of live as you tube tightens their belts and pays creators less from Ads. So if you end up having to do it, it doesn't bother me. But hopefully featuring your own product will be enough to make it work for you. You could do it like Jays2Cents does....very tongue-in-cheek ("Hey, buy my crap so you know you're getting something good, and that way I don't have to put annoying ads for other crap here!"). I hope you sell a million. I'm buying one for sure.
A nice way I've seen some youtubers get sponsors is to reach out to companies/products they already use and like. And especially with 2mil subs, they will probably jump at the chance.
Lol saying that you'll ignore a sponsor is probably not what they want to hear.
If I'm watching on the computer, i found that about 15 clicks on the right arrow key will get me through those sponsor ads.
Do we get a rat trap version?
Been a fan for a long time, happy to buy one of these to support the channel.
I ordered one, thanks. I can't wait to try it. It looks awesome!
I've been subscribed at this channel for years... And now.. I can't even describe how happy I am for Steve! This is not only a great invention, but it designed so great! The product itself and the package. They look nice and really well thought! Great job!
Just thought I should mention that his name is Shawn!
You didn't mention the price oddly.... even with all your praise, the price is so ridiculous & doesn't even include the bucket!
This is revolutionary. Nice job.
Looks great, Shawn! Well done.
It’s obviously the best trap ever but if you think about how many years that humans have been trying to catch vermin, it’s kinda overwhelming.

What you really need to do is an an inductance strip to the entrance that illuminates an led and place a chute under the spinner that leads to a chicken coop. That way as a mouse enters the trap, the led lets the chickens know a morsel is on the way and after the mouse falls into the chute it’s just become a fast food order
🤣🤣🤣 It's a drive-up window for chicken nuggets! 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic idea . . . if you have chickens. 👍🏼
@@rvalens2 I was also thinking for a fish pond like Bulltrout, Pike, Catfish or any other fish that would like a mouse sized morsel

Interestingly, the main reason I trust you that this is such an amazing mousetrap is not only that you showed the footage but rather that because I've followed your channel for years, I feel like I learned a decent amount of mousetrap theory and I'm beginning to be able to tell a good design when I see one. I purchased the mousetrap you have previously called the best ever and it's worked so I anticipate buying this one both because I have faith in it and also because I simply desire to support the good work you do.
The only flaw in the design that made the last mouse escape is the cut out of the bucket. There are 4 corners inside of the trap, that the acrylic shield covers. Cut them out
Probably shaped that way to maintain structural stability and durability of the platform
@beikehanmu ummm no that wouldn't make a difference
I won't call a 1% flaw is a flaw tho. Unless it become less effective in future scenarios
@@creambeast8178 a flaw is a flaw. It didn't work 100% if a mouse got out
The one that got away was Hairy Houdini though.
You'd have to cut corners to reach 100% efficiency. The one escaped used the corners to keep balance
that looks like a winner, i would buy one of these, but we do not have mice in our apartment. that design should make the folks who want a no-kill trap happy.
Awesome! Now make one for pack rats! Then call it the PACK RAT ROTATOR! 🤠
Any ideas of the best way to make this a humane kill trap? I am thinking filling the barrel with water/CO2/Argon. Putting it on a Minecraft lava bucket seems unfeasible.
Great work. Mine’s in shipping now. Looking forward to put it to work.
Kudos!! Way to go, Sir!
I may have missed -- is this good for large rats or do we just make the hole bigger?

Another spot that works both on the flip and your spin trap to put bait is the underside of the cover - top center, and then at 45 degrees (half-way) on either side. This way they will reach for it and cause the platform to move, but because it's out of reach it doesn't get eaten. Just make sure you disassemble these before storing, as they still work for longer than is stomachable ( and what a horrible way to go ). I'll spare the details.
That's what I'm thinking. Avoids out of balance issues with the paddle spindle too.
Your mouse trap is perfect until you catch a bunch of circus mice that know how to build a mouse pyramid.
Good job .i wish you the best of success .you deserve it for such a good idea .
Awesome job. Persistence equals perfection 😎
Heh shawn i would like to purchase but i would like to know does this work with bigger rats or only with mouse/mice?
This is pretty cool. Step 1: Catch the mice Step 2: Release the mice Step 3: Wait for them to come back into your home Step 4: Repeat step 1
or just fill it with water
