Do not wash, leave the mouse smell in your trap and more mice will quickly follow.
Every fall, I like to try out new methods of capturing mice when they come into my home. I prefer live-catch traps just in case I end up with something desirable such as a shrew. live traps preserve the rodents so you can also offer them to wildlife or wildlife recovery and rehabilitation centers.
UPDATE: SEE MY NEW FAVORITE MOUSE REPEATING KILL TRAP HERE: • The Best Mouse Trap, E...
If you need to kill mice and won't have the time to visit the trap right away, consider my box of certain death design:
• Rat or Mouse Trap Box ...
Much better to kill them than to leave them to starve to death.
In this video, I show you a better ramp system that doesn't take up as much space as most ramps do:
• The Best Way to Trap M...
Below are links to this trap system as well as the buckets etc. All links are affiliate links via Amazon. Or you can just google them separately if you would rather not support my channel.
Deep Food-Grade Buckets that mice can not jump up and out of:
7-gallon amzn.to/3ugNcwY
The Dizzy Dunker bucket-top mouse trap that was designed in collaboration with the Rinne Brothers and Shawn Woods - amzn.to/47iwwEb
Olive Oil - Use it to lubricate all triggers or friction points on your traps, this also drawn in mice. amzn.to/3sJibkV
Peanut Butter or almond butter, here I've noticed a preference for the peanut butter over almond butter: Use the cheapest brand, mice do now show a preference: amzn.to/3MRenoO
Peanut butter in the pouch containers fit better into your rodent trap kit, and you can squeeze it on to our traps or triggers without touching the surfaces.
For black oil sunflower seeds I highly recommend going to your local garden center or pet supply as buying those through the mail is just too expensive in my opinion. If you don't have those options, then here they are online:
amzn.to/40Kirww
Motion Activated Cameras that I use to monitor my traps as well as rodent activity. You can adjust the movement sensitivity or even have a spot light come on when something moves - Arlo Cameras can be checked by phone from anywhere at anytime: amzn.to/40KIK5Y

  • Just so you know, Shawn did a little research and found that larger rodents like rats can escape from 19 inch deep buckets.

  • Great invention. Yes I’ll make sure mine have water about 6-8 inches with a drop of dish soap, not saving any that’s the whole point is to get rid of them, safely no poison and trust there’s plenty if things that will eat the carcass safely

    • Hi Kennith, Shawn collaborated with the Rinne Brothers in order to come up with this "Shawn Woods" design. I think it's his first original trap. Shawn is someone I'd enjoy interviewing some day, but he's non-responsive so far :)

  • I'll have to check that one out. Just a little while ago, I looked into the 5 gal bucket in my storage room where it collects water from the dehumidifier. There was a mouse floating on the top! That was a first. I guess it happened during the night when he couldn't reach the hose hanging down in the bucket. I do have some of those snap traps but it's good to have several different types, I guess.

  • Mine are mostly coming in at the rim joists, and I have the crappy fiberglass insulation like yours. I'm going to replace it with foam board insulation, and caulk it. That should help.

    • Pure Fun, and I collected two more mice last night. I'm also putting the other one in my Bee Hive Frame Storage building. I'm not sure it would get a rat, but mice are just walking in. I highly recommend using hardware cloth wrapped around the bucket, instead of the included ramp, mice climb straight up the bucket and go in ==

  • hi frederick have looked through all your videos by title can not find any videos on nutritional facts about honey could you tell me about why you raise bees

    @sabastion642@sabastion6425 ай бұрын
    • Sugars: Raw honey is primarily composed of sugars, accounting for approximately 80% of its total weight. These sugars include fructose (40-50%), glucose (30-40%), and sucrose (5-10%). Minor Nutrients: Raw honey contains small amounts of various vitamins and minerals, including: Niacin (8% of the Daily Value (DV) per tablespoon) Riboflavin (1% DV per tablespoon) Pantothenic acid (4% DV per tablespoon) Calcium (0.4% DV per tablespoon) Magnesium (0.5% DV per tablespoon) Manganese (2% DV per tablespoon) Potassium (1% DV per tablespoon) Phosphorus (0.4% DV per tablespoon) Zinc (0.4% DV per tablespoon) Antioxidants: Raw honey is a good source of antioxidants, including polyphenols, flavonoids, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). These antioxidants help protect the body from cell damage caused by free radicals, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Other Compounds: Raw honey contains various other compounds with potential health benefits, such as: Bee pollen: A rich source of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, potentially offering antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. Bee propolis: A resinous substance produced by bees, potentially offering antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Unpasteurized: Raw honey is unpasteurized, meaning it has not been heated to kill enzymes and microorganisms. This preservation of enzymes and microorganisms is believed by some to enhance honey's health benefits. It's important to note that the exact nutritional composition of raw honey can vary depending on the source of the nectar, beekeeping practices, and other factors. While raw honey offers potential health benefits, it's essential to consume it in moderation due to its high sugar content.
