but but but they were DEER mice, how how how could you NOT use a LIVE trap and release them????? like you do with every other trap you test? lol

I just posted the same thing and then saw this, so deleted. But, 100%

Oh boy, mice invading Shawn's house? They really don't know what they're getting themselves into.
Lmbo 🤣😂 sooo true
I can't believe they don't have a Cat, the ultimate mouse-catcher.

Good review… I was one of those people that saw this trap on Amazon and said, “that silly thing will never work!” But I had a noisy little furry offender banging around in the walls and the kitchen every night. Messy glue strips and dangerous poison pellets didn’t work, so I tried this. Unbelievable! It worked in less than an hour. Really nice gadget to have! Clean, humane and simple. I’d recommend it to anyone. :)
@@DJ-yc5qk Good to know. I think I'll get one of each! Thanks!

Just brought one. 🤞
Definitely gonna get one, although I can't guarantee I'll get up every couple of hours to check it ... but maybe ... I like the idea of it giving the mouse a QUICK death. And that's also a unique idea on how to get rid of the corpses!
humane ??????
3:16 Seeing it squeeze through that vent... made my skin crawl.
I can't believe his house is not mouse-proofed at this point..lol
Why? Do American houses have random holes in them that cannot possibly be plugged? Yes I know the answer, it was a rhethorical question. American heating systems and wooden houses vs stone houses.

Immediately after watching this video, went to Home Depot and 3 hours later just finished installing wire mesh to all my grate covers :D thank you!
Hello Shawn. It's a year later, I've had excellent success with the two traps that I purchased. I found an open space under the stairs to my laundry (hose on piers with crawlspace). Closed the open space and no more mice in the house. Thanks for what you do and post.

You really were able to handle that minor rodent incursion pretty quickly with this trap. Very very interesting. Nice job!
Hello Shawn. On your recommendation I got two of these traps and last night one of them bore fruit. I like this better than the spring traps. Thanks for the research that you do.
In theory l like this one better but so far my spring traps - 3, this trap - 0
@@HotRoute7 Hello. I've had excellent results with these traps. Clean, no blood or feces. One of my spring traps was dragged under the house never to be seen again.

This thing truly works! I was having pest problems and decided to buy one. It worked so well, I bought another for a friend. I'm just glad I'm not the one running into that trap.
The native species got too complacent from being let out all the time
😂

They crossed the line. The line that marked the border between the outside world and Shawn's house 😅
The toll is their life. Shocking isn't it?
Yeah. He should just kill them. They breed way too much to save them
Every mouse is invasive when they inside the house!!!

And that's when Shawn dumps the live-catch buIlsiht. Them meeces ain't coming back.
@@Jessica-to8um that’s misconception. Urban terrain chases away predators, allows shelter, and provides food and water access for animals. So not really invade their habitat, just made it safer for them and provided them food and shelter indirectly

100% works and works quickly. There was mouse evidence in the kitchen silverware drawer. No bueño. I bought one and it paid for itself in less than 5hrs.

that last one was like, hmm... so Stanley never came back, and Gertrude is still missing... and... hm, what's this? smells like sunflower seeds, but also slightly of panic & death... nope! ...but sunflower...seeds...too... good... must.... check it out....
They're not very smart lol, I've seen videos on here where they literally crawl over the dead body of another mouse into a trap
@@javalavadingdong They are only guided by basic brain function. If anything moves or makes a sound their brain gets alerted of a danger and they scamper away. But if they see their dead comrades trapped in a device, they dont have the brain capacity to realize that its a trap.
Either the register box isn’t attached to the floor correctly or you have a pipe issue maybe a rust hole or a joint off the pipes should be airtight all the way to the furnace
And considering they're probably pooping in the vents, that should really be taken care of.
those pipes are usually made out of like aluminum foil with insulation. the mice just chew right thru it
Comeplely true can't have air leaks.
The gaps in the grate are allowing a pathway to the kitchen
Who said they use a furnace, in the UK we use a boiler and radiators for central heating. Fancy houses have underfloor.
Thanks Shawn, I’ll buy one. I like the idea of the light, so you dont have to manually keep checking if there is a mouse in there yet.
we've caught 6 in a week with this trap. The mice had gotten too smart with all the other types of traps we've used
never had problems with catching mice on a simple glue trap , caught 3 on 1 glue trap once , they looked like they would play twister.
@@TheRomanpolan what bait? Where did you place them? Scented or unscented?
@@TheConpuentes Yes..What Bait?
Peanut butter as bait will work or sometimes no bait at all will and leave them down flat rather than folding up the sides to form a tunnel.
Nyc mice are smart this kind or the live trap kind work good the green live catch one
Shawn, you really need to find where the mice are getting into your ductwork and fix it. All that mouse pee and poop getting blown all through your house is awful.
Thanks for the video. Very interesting little mouse trap and the mice actually enter the trap for the food. I also like the safety features. Right now, I don't have any mice problems inside my house, but will keep this trap in mind if i ever do. take care.
We have one of these - works like a charm on our annual mouse visits in the garage (late summer to winter). If there's one mouse there's usually a few more. Put just the smallest peanut in there, and ZAP! Usually put fresh batteries in it as well, to ensure it would have most zapping.
I was hoping to see the return of the legendary bowl of peanut oil for this.
That's my favorite so far 👍😊🇦🇺🦘
I want him to do that video again, but with a bigger bowl
I believe he's mentioned before that one of his kids is allergic to peanuts

I got one based on this video since my mice aren’t triggering the snap traps. It’s totally effective! It shocks them for a lot longer than I thought it would-a full minute. So it’s super unpleasant to be around when it goes off but it does the job.
I have used this exact trap and some other electric traps, they do seem to work very well

I've been using this trap for well over a year and it works great! In fact, I bought 2 more when I saw how well they work! I had an issue with one of them at the start and customer service was very easy to work with and replaced the unit very fast! 👍👍👍
Looks like a good trap system. Simple, effective, quick and no need to use poisons.
PSA for all mice out there. Do not go in Shawn's house. Ever.
It puts the cheese on it's fur or it gets the trap again...

@@frankiepaul9869 No. Some things are best not being "smart"... A mouse trap manufacturer isn't going to have the resources to hire developers skilled enough to do that securely. I just checked this trap out on Amazon and it's already sold out. Shawn's endorsement of this good trap worth gold for the Owltra company...
I found one that holds 10 at one time. Victor M260 $100.00
Shawn, What type of bait do you recommend for a smart mouse who won’t go for peanut butter or roasted peanuts or any of the rat poison I’ve tried?
What a great video. This has to be one of the best mousetraps I've seen, because there is no mess like from a spring-loaded trap, it's easy to empty, and has a notification light. Just a great job in sharing this!
My husband bought one after seeing this video. It really works!!!

Thanks Shawn, just ordered the set of two via your link.
SHAWN, THANK YOU!!! I came back to this video to thank Shawn for this trap. A few months back, I caught 2 mice in about 4 days. I decided I would leave it set all the time. A few days ago, the green light came on. I was surprised because I had seen no new mice or droppings. I ended up catching 3 in 2 days. My house is now mouse free and I didn't even know new mice had moved in. This trap is amazing.
By the way, I added no seeds. It was just the peanut butter in the bait tray. That was it. They still went after it.
2:36 I like how he literally hovers over the heater vent and tells the mice exactly what he's planning lol
He gave them a fair warning lmao
This looks like the trap the Ghostbusters used! Don't cross the streams!!!!
I was thinking the same thing. I want to buy one of these traps and modify it to look like a ghost trap 😂
Didn't see any come out of vent but get picture. Great video.
I caught one in one of those this morning. very good device.
How creepy to see them making themselves at home in your home. I have not seen any signs of mice in my home but I think I may have to try this to find out for sure. Excellent content as always!
I thought the same until I found little mouse poop! They’re smart and sly.

That sound it makes when it shocks them is so ominous when you hear it after a while of deafening silence.
The mice are like the teenagers in a horror movie that go into the abandoned house where everyone has been disappearing.
RIGHT?!
Great review . Picked one up off of Amazon and i caught a mouse in less than 24 hrs . Woke up to a bright flashing green light!
I really like that it kills quickly and isn't messy! Plus you don't have to ever touch the mouse! Just wear a glove to empty trap! I want one!!
I really like this trap. Quick, cheap, easy to set up/clean out, rather painless for the mice, long term solution, non-toxic AND looks discrete. Looking into buying it myself now, havin mouse issues around the house
there are better ways than this, you only kill one mice at a time with this trap.
@@InsiJuice Unless your house is infested with lots of mice, this device will do just fine.
@@grylltheonion lol
This mouse trap looks like a USB accessory.
I love this trap....by far one of the best on the market: As noted they also make a larger unit for rats and it works equally as well!
Electrocution is actually more humane (and convenient) than live-catch traps where you drive the live mouse far from your house (and its nest and familiar territory) and leave it to be eaten by predators. I would recommend wearing disposable gloves to empty the traps.
I understand your concern about the health hazard those mice pose. I recommend cleaning and sealing your ducts. There's no good reason for there to be any gap in the system. Aside from your furnace blowing whatever mouse excrement is in the ducts into the rest of your house, your heating system can't be operating properly with such leaks. There are companies dedicated to such things.
I hope you find out where in your ventilation system they are getting in. Assuming it's not just the floor vent. That seems like a big problem, with urine and feces getting blown throughout your house causing raspatory illness. You'll definitely want to get that resolved ASAP. If possible make a quick video of you finding it and fixing it.
Along with mice getting in, you're losing heated air at the entry point. Time to make the heating ducts air and mouse proof, and have them cleaned out.

"raspatory" you mean respiratory. As in, related to respiration.

Got mine the other day and I have to admit it's extremely effective.
Maybe that skunk is one of your biggest fans that stop by in most videos. I guess the late-night snacks finally caught up to him.
A simple question, Shawn, if I may. You stated at the beginning that the mice seem to have access to the duct-work below the house, and thus appear in the living area through the floor heater grill. Wouldn't it be easier to find the entry point below the house and seal it? I'm thinking this zapping of native mice could go on for a VERY long time, especially if native deer mice are coming to the home from surrounding fields and woodland. Very effective trap, though. Glad I subscribed to watch your many experiments and product testing. !
That could also just end up being a wild goose chase. It's possible there's no way to access the route they use without tearing everything up, even if it is possible to figure out where it is.
best will be to let snakes live under house (non venomous of course).
@@megs8654 - As long as they didn't come up thru the vent(s) too, lol. I'd rather have mice get in than snakes (even non poisonous ones).
