Haha, this brought back memories. My parents bought a house in the late 70's with baseboard radiators, essentially a copper pipe with aluminum fins, about 2" square and 1/8" apart, that ran around the exterior walls of the house. Hot water ran through the pipe and gave off heat. The radiators had covers over them, but these were flimsy and many, if not most, of the fins were pushed flat on the sides facing inwards. My mother and I spent days, using pairs of putty knives, straightening fins. Good times, but you couldn't pay me enough to do it for someone else!

Unfortunately its the exact opposite, aluminum radiators cool way better and can be much smaller than copper radiators doing the same job, the difference in performance only comes from the length of time they last to failure, copper radiators can last for decades while most aluminum radiators only last years.
Such incredible work given the conditions and tools available, very good to see so much raw materials being reused unlike with todays throw away society.

Great skill. Funny thing is there used to be a radiator repair shop in every town. All but gone now.
Yes! I was thinking about this a couple of days ago. When I was a teenager I remember taking the radiator of my old car to a shop that did repairs and leak testing. I haven’t seen one of those shops in over twenty years.
Planned obsolescence with plastic end caps.
I was a student in south east asia and I remember taking my old pickup truck to a radiator "shop" like this on the side of the road. I just saw a wooden painted sign that said radiator repair. and that was that. I never had to top off the water after that it was leak free. Now the radiators are all plastic and aluminium. We act like we're moving forward with all our technological advances but we're just creating Tons of waste with products that last a couple years and end up in landfills.
Yeah, my town once had 7 radiator shops , now I own the only radiator shop around for over hundred miles around. I'm always busy getting work from all over the state, but only cause I don't have any competition anymore. Lol.

Fantástico!!!! Belíssimo trabalho, parabéns. Chapada dos Guimarães - Mato Grosso - Brasil

Props to them for actually learning a skill that helps their society function instead of phone scamming like many of their peers.
They are Pakistanis not Indians
Excelente travajo saludos desde panamá👏🇵🇦🙋♂️
WOW... I love watching these type of videos... showing how things are done.
Talk about doing a thorough job, well done.
On today's episode of heavy metal exposure...
Whatever is put in front of these young men, they will do it very well, with little resources. Great job! I thought wow that radiator looks brand new except for the fins that were pushed in… until they went through each one and fixed it..🤯. The man standing behind them across the street at 1:35 must be the owner…. 😳
no he is just someone standing there. mostly here owners don't spend time standing there to see what they are doing rather they just leave the thing and go away to do something else. and repair shops here are small and not enough space to let people sit. so all of them are either mechanics or repairman working there.

Its better when they dont add music over the videos. Listening to them work is perfect.
Marvelous craftsman.
The fact that that radiator is copper and soldered is even more amazing. It's probably way way better performance than any of the Aluminium stuff we use now. If you wanna buy a copper version to slim down for performance reasons you gotta shell out the big bucks
I believe it's brass. Brass is hardly used anymore these days because it's much heavier than aluminum.
Unfortunately its the exact opposite, aluminum radiators cool way better and can be much smaller than copper radiators doing the same job, the difference in performance only comes from the length of time they last to failure, copper radiators can last for decades while most aluminum radiators only last years. I've been working on radiators for nearly 25 years now. 😎👍
@@jinpingthebear110 it's copper and aluminum
I had a lot more failures with copper than the new aluminum ones
I never thought of pulling the fins like that - I just pressed them from the middle using a small screwdriver, and my results weren't as clean.
Same here.
We used ice picks
Yes, ice picks are better at fin straightening then picking ice. Lol.
i love the restaurations , its better with the world
Well done job.
Great craftsmanship 🙏
