In a perfect world, Craig would still have a show and Norm would have a show right after.
Too true

To be honest, that was the first time I saw it happen. Kudos to Craig Ferguson: only a true comedic genius would manage to do that.
@@sergiosaunier I hear ya! The only other person I seen to throw Norm off is Super Dave.
@@bobdole7451 And Dennis Miller, but in a different way.
Was it an act though?
@@dpwellman Yeah, Dennis throws off Norm by keeping him focused on the joke, which is odd because most other interviewers get thrown off by Norm's weird jokes and that's exactly the reaction Norm looked for. Dennis was a weird case for Norm because he welcomed his odd humour and worked towards enhancing the joke at Norm's odd rhythm's expense.
“They don’t realize what a furnace of ambition you are” -norm to Craig. What a genuine nice guy. I understand why he’d never wanna concern anyone with his life.

Craig Ferguson is actually pretty funny
Had exactly the same thought.
Yeah it’s crazy, these 2 are comedy gold together

Norm had a discerning eye for comedy. It was the only thing he seemed to really care about other than his son.

Craig is one of the few people who can keep up with Norm, and it's beautiful to see them riff of each other.
Yep. Craig and Russell Brand also demonstrated this phenomenon. Craig + lightning = extra lightning
Its great to see norm laughing the way he is
Yeah, loved the mutual respect they obviously had for each other, two of the greats.

@@alexpollock6932 I can definitely see that he would be sick of the game. There had to be big pressure on him to shill the agenda, like we need yet another carbon copy of marxist agenda shills. All those shows are totally unwatchable at this point. Letterman always did it his way too, and he got out while the getting was good. I was about to surmise that Letterman has enough power w/ his popularity that he didn't have to shill their shit, but then I think of Rosanne. He’s the only person I didn’t know I’ve cried for when he died. As Conan once said “Norm might not have been the hardest working comedian ever, but he might have been the funniest ever” We are blessed we have hundreds and hundreds of hours of him. He lived and breathed comedy. Every moment of his life was about laughing and smiling. And when life ends in a catastrophe that might be the only way to overcome it.

I can’t explain it, but seeing Norm having so much fun made me really happy for a moment.
It's called empathy my dear boy! Haha. But seriously, it's so nice to see. So often you could tell he was having fun playing with people like he was a cat. Always scheming the next joke and setting you up. But here, he seems almost kid-like. It's so funny to me.
@@NoName-sv7pp True!!
one of my favorite things about norm are the lies- he lied about his age whenever he was asked, he lied about not doing drugs (heard several comedians share stories of smoking with norm before sets), not drinking, in one of his tom green appearances they’re casually having beers. twice he went on larry king’s youtube thing and twice he told the same story about johnny carson, one version where he meets carson and one where he was too scared to meet him. just lied all the time for no reason it kills me
He just made up whatever was funnier to him or the audience at the moment. He always said I don’t drink or do drugs probably just because it’s a funny thing to say
I gave you a Thumbs down vote, Not because i disagree with anything you said, because i actually do agree with everything you wrote, Verbatim . And dont get me wrong, im more than joyed that you are Starting to get it... but the reason for the downvote is because you have put into motion a very slow yet terminal virus that changes ART into Gimmick, Gimmick into Routine, Routine into Lifestlye, lifestyle to Bigotry & finally bigotry into Nothingness.... Sometimes when you explain to the folks at home you dont tell them how its done
this is the happiest i’ve seen norm during an interview. craig ferguson is perfect for his style-people always step all over norm when he’s working, but craig knows to let him talk.
nice observation :)))
Conan loves the sound of his own voice too much to let anyone talk for more than 4 seconds at a time.
The only reason that 2+2=1 in terms of comedic potential in this clip was that Craig was hyperactive. We seem to have watched different shows.
@@ramazanbora846 Yupp. But that's how it is with limited time though. Especially since Norm's a guy who mesmerises with long jokes/stories. This was simply too short a time for him to shine. (And yes, lots of interruptions.)

Not like it's needed, but this shows how fuckin good of a comedian Craig is. Norm is a comedian's comedian, and Craig made him laugh easily. It sucks dingo balls that they've only met once in this show. This may be the most perfect comedy combination I have ever seen.
This up there with Rickles and Carson.
I never watched a lot of Furgeson back in the day. More of a Conan guy. Clearly I missed out on a great late night show.
You really did. Watch his stuff online Craig Ferguson is the king of late night imo.
Not really, although Conan went to shit. Most late night was bad after Leno followed by Conan
Craig was on a whole other level. He was basically improvising every night for an 1hr for nearly a decade.

OMG......once I went CraigyFerg, I never went back to the Conan feller.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Norm so at ease. :) He looked to be having a blast! It truly saddens me that we won’t see any more genuine moments like this.
I am proud of the way Norm went out the same way he lived. He bucked the trend. Not one whimper or request for sympathy and he kept himself emotionally intact doing what he loved the entire time. Norm, you went out like a man. Thanks for all the laughs.
Norm and Craig could have ruled the world together.
You can tell how much Norm genuinely enjoyed this
This was the most normal interview I've seen with Norm.
Craig is one of the only people I've seen that genuinely made Norm laugh.
These guys seem like buddies who just didn't spend enough time together to become proper friends
Damn. I wish he visited Craig more often. This is the best!
you know, even though he's dead and he was making secretly extremely morbid jokes about his health and weight (mostly swelling) and mortality: it's even funnier. it just makes it like a little secret and he's loving making jokes about it
Craig's brilliant. He bides his time and forms a good comeback to respond to any perceived slight instead of addressing it right there like many comics who takes offense. It's meant to be biting and yet less embarrassing for the recepient. Norm realized his mistake right away when Craig pointed it out and was the first to laugh at himself for it instead of taking offense. It's being humbled Lettermanesque style and Norm loves that.
I get the sense Norm absolutely adore Craig 🙂
Mutual perhaps
Same. They have two totally different comedic styles but they're both absolutely hilarious.
@@waynepayne9875 Different styles, same tradition.
I have never seen anyone make Norm laugh as much as Craig, and in such a short amount of time
Two of the most under-rated comedic minds of all time, even as loved as they are. Love how Craig turns the tables and gets Norm to giggle and crack up so bad he can't speak at times. Usually, it's Norm cracking up the host. Norm seems to be enjoying this hugely, and doesn't even have time to get in one of his slow, old joke bits. Sad this was his only spot on here. Sad he's gone. Sad Craig and Geoff are no longer on air. But I'll watch this again, and laugh...
