Here’s an exercise that helps improve your speed, stamina and overall match fitness.
1. Sprint the length of a full sided field at maximum intensity.
2. Once you reach the end perform a slow recovery jog across the width of the field.
3. After jogging across the width, sprint the length again.
4. Finally turn and walk the width of the field to our start point. This will equal one full repetition.
Once you reach the start point repeat the entire sequence again. Be sure to Keep track of how many reps you complete and aim to improve slightly each workout.

I’m an MMA fighter and this is my main source of cardio except I don’t walk after the second sprint I go back to a jog, it’s a great way to track your progress as if you can do 5 sets in your in good shape, 7-8 and your in excellent shape and are fit enough for a novice level fight and if you get up to 10 solid setts you have the cardio needed for a professional level 3 round fight

@@whocaresthanks 1 lap of the whole pitch is 1 set, Gabriel Varga has a video on it. I got it from him. I’ll link it below.
I remember they had us doing this in PE class back in HS. I loved doing this, since you get a moment to have complete explosive sprinting, then a moment to rest and repeat.

Done this, and one crucial note to bear in mind is that always stay in composure, dont throw your weight around mindlessly just to get the work done.. especially nearing the limit of your stamina, you'll almost definitely lose your form and this could cause improper stress placement on your knees and ankles which can cause long term injury
As someone who plays rb and b2b midfielder, this is absolutely gold for me
This is an interval type of training. Works with almost every sport. It increases your body’s ability to recover quickly as well
We did a drill just like this in High School. You get a partner and as one person is sprinting around the outside of the field behind the goal the other jogs width wise across the middle and you meet/alternate in a never ending drill the way our coach ran it.

I'm incorporating this into my weekly practice. I got game tomorrow :) To catch my breath and get rid of fatigue quickly during the match or practice, I take a big inhale until 90% of my lungs then take another inhale to fill my lungs to 100%. It helps to get rid of fatigue fairly quickly. It has become my favorite way of breathing instead of panting and bending over 😂 I learnt it from Dr Andrew Huberman :)
Ahh yes the classic 3 sets of 12 is an absolute must ‼️‼️
How many times per week?
@@Yung.prizlythis exercise type called (HIIT) it causes alot of fatigue to your nervous and muscular system so you need good rest to recover Don’t do it more than 3 time a week in consideration you do normal sport activity ( moderate to light ) within the week
thank you so much for posting these videos. It’s helped me so much with my game, speed, skill, confidence and much more! Thank you so much!
Happy to help!
This can also be done on a track. We do this in cross country. It’s called a light speed workout. If you wanna increase your distances, you can run a 200 hard and then jog a 100 and repeat. I personally love these kinds of workouts.
legit, this is precisely what I did to increase my stamina
As a box to box midfielder, i just love your routine❤️

I will try the excerise when I am coming home from vacation. I hope I can do at least 1-2 complete round.

This is just strides, works great on track just jog the curves sprint the straights
"At this point you'll start to get fatigued, so be sure to push yourself all the way to the end" proceeds to jog the last 25 yards
Man the nostalgia. Had a couch who was a little too into cardio and we would do these every Practice. Unfortunately he didn't let us do the walking stretch. So just jog to sprints.
dude has very good sprinting form.
have you ever seen sprinters ? i don't think you have
I just realized, the cameraman is faster 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Damn I remember doing this years ago when I played for my city. Started out like this video and ended up with full sprints around the entire field by the end of the season. Really improved my conditioning.
I had never done it like that, but I do it the other way around, sprint width wise 80% and job in length. It has helped me get fit in two weeks.
How many reps or sets atleast in your workouts?
try 5 reps for 3 sets 👍
@@afnanhisyamhussin2589 thank you man

Very simple, run until your heart gives out. That’s how you become better.
Bro was sculpted in magnificence.
Oooh, been training for a week for futsal rn, guess this is where our coach learnt it from, he made us do this. It's great !
Every like i get on this comment, i do 2 sit ups😤
You definitely don't improve speed without significant rest time between sprints.
With sprints no you want it to basically be a hit workout with just enough time to get your heart down into that comfortable 85-90% max is where I aim for
Best interval type of training, ultrarunner here.
Here's an exercise to improve your speed, stamina and fitness for football: stop pumping so much iron in the gym. That bulky physique is not ideal. Focus on mobility and speed over 5 yards, not 50
Running seems an ancient, amazing skill to me ..😮
Reminds me of pre-season where coach would make this our warm-ups, with an expectation of at least 8-9 reps in 90 degree summer heat.
Before I watched this i already did this before and it actually worked even though my coach didn't approved of it it was still very effective keep it up❤❤
That was so simple and easy to understand thank you for helping

Similar to how we train our cardio in boxing. A lot of high intensinity into low just like that, on and off so we can mimic the pace of a 3 minute round in a fight. Really builds you up well over time
Salute to the cameraman ❤❤ Who alao want to salute the cameraman 👇
Great,thank you
Circuit or interval training is good for building strength and endurance. One that I was taught as a youth had a square of about 25 metre sides. It began with a walk, then a light jog, followed by long strides or 'stepping' and ended in a full sprint. Most beginners could not go beyond 5 sets intially. It was really effective for footballers seeking an edge over their opponents.
This just sprint training! Solid
Yup ! I used to do this without a real rhyme or reason but I noticed my speed and endurance skyrocketed
You run like The T-1000 from 1991 sci-fi action film Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Great Style. Inspiring !
Damn I remember these I should start doing them again
thanks for advice will try it
This is called HIIT. I used to do it in my middle school days using a timer just running across my Neighborhood early in the morning. My fav kind of cardio because it’s intense and best of all, 5-10 minute is enough
Gonna chime in and say this is great fitness and field work for any field team sports like rugby, nfl, field hockey, lacrosse
Just watching that takes my breath away
The cameraman 🎉❤❤❤
Cameraman always ahead of everyone but never gets enough credit
Captain America: Dude that still a long way to go
Bro it's very helpful....🎉
The cameraman should be the one showing us how to do it
It reminds me the Gareth Bale's training, back in the days he started to get recognised by his speed and endurance in his matches. For me it's basics like the suicides in "Coach Carter" movie for basketball players. Or the Blue-Back-Red-Back-Blue-Back in the hockey training. It's essentialls for the every player in every sport including running.
You look like body builder, this is such an American way of training.
Camera man never dies
we did almost the same in the youth, only difference we sprintet diagonal across the field and jogged the width, our coach called it the roman ten X we started smaller and as we grew older we began to enlargen the marked zones until we reached the whole field
Wow! Bro looks like a bodybuilder! But he moves very quickly! Great physique and great speed!
I did the same few days ago now I will try doing it everyday
Man that is so good.
