it's miracle stuff, but comes at that cost to. 😅 if you wanted to fully protect a car it costs $10k+ if you do trouble spots like front of hoods/ grills & fender wells it's $1k-$3k.

Consider putting some replaceable kevlar protectors on the side skirts behind the mud flapps. There is no paint protective film or anything that can withstand being blasted by thousands of sharp rocks during a rally stage, usually all pro drivers have the kevlar to not ruin the paint.
I know that Kevlar is probably the best but for mountain bikes we use kydex plastic that’s could also be an option as it’s so easy to form into shape

Man, I have watched a LOT of PPF installation videos, and this dude explained it so much better than I have ever heard! Hell of a job too, I couldn't see it anywhere in the beauty shots at the end.
I’ve been a window tint and ppf installer for just under 15 years. Speaking from experience, the stek ppf is a very good material with nice clarity as well and it’s easier to stretch than some other films on the market. I have seen a video comparing ppf and after about a year the self healing properties and clarity will start to fade. That guys has his work cut out with the 10 mil film on the bumpers and wing though 😂 I don’t envy him right now. Stek also has what’s they call a cosmetic ppf. It’s basically a Viynl wrap combined with a ppf. So it will last a lot longer and prevent scratches and chips but also gives you the options to change the color of the car like a Viynl. It’s super rad stuff

Should’ve explained the PPF self healing the same way a pin for a tag on a t-shirt will self heal the “hole” when removed. The fibres of the shirt don’t get pierced they get pushed aside, when the PPF gets a small scratch it slightly displaces the PPF and pushes it either side so when it heats up it gets malleable and “self heals” fills the gap/scratch left

I totally relate to Adams madness with having even the most abused and used cars looking as mint as possible. It carries over from the biggest things to the smallest, my vehicles all the way down to my rc cars that i bash have to be looking as clean as possible between bash seasons, its def OCD!

They sell carbon kevlar underbody gaurds that comes up around the side skirt . And then they sell shaped carbon panels for high traffic impact areas 🤙👌 I'd say that new ppf would be great for protecting the rollcage paint too and stopping stone chips on the bonnet 💯

Learn to do it yourself...compared to 20 years ago its soooo cheap to get all the gear, (half decent gun and compressor) even a double bay gazebo( mask the sides off, some cheap leds and you have a spray booth) Theres enough tutorials on youtube to do a good finish for no money...Really. Remember its all in the prep. Great prep=Great paint. Good Luck

the darker ford color looks almost exactly like subarus garnet red, which was a pretty are color option for the gd chassis wrx! my favorite color by far

The PPF is awesome and all. Definitely sold on buying in some of that!! but... as a vehicle wrapper and signwriter I'm scratching my head how you're planning to put a livery on it as the PPF has a nano coat that doesn't let anything stick to it - and if it does it won't last very long! You need to put the livery on first then PPF overtop!!!

im a ppf guy wetting the table is to keep the film fixed to the table when peeling the back sheet off. without wetting the table, the film would curl back on itself if not stuck to the table. Now ya know, we do the same thing with tint aswell.
Gotta drill 1/8" holes at the ends of the crack to keep it from splitting. Also, 3m panel bond would be better. Squirt some in the crack then a bead on 2" tape and put it over the crack until it cures then sand. 36 on a DA is great.
