MegaRaptor 6x6 vs Mercedes-Benz BRABUS 6x6 // $400,000 Meets $2 Million

2022 ж. 29 Шіл.
5 403 611 Рет қаралды

The Brabus G700 AMG 6X6 (2$million) and this Homemade MegaRaptor 6x6 (~$400,000 CAD build, slightly less USD), are two of the most absurd examples of automotive excess we could find. What better way to stroll through sleepy small town Ontario during gas hikes, than in two 6x6 custom mega trucks? Thomas is championing opulent wealth, luxury and lavishness with the Brabus. And the F350 converted MegaRaptor James brought along has military grade wheels that weigh as much as a Tesla Model Y. Which of these two 6x6 behemoths is more unusable in daily life? Which is faster in a drag race? We hope you enjoy the episode! Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE!
Massive thank you to the legendary owner @Canadian_Car_Nut, who made all of this possible!

  • The power cord dangling underneath brings back memories. When I moved to BC from Alberta, I took my ‘95 Mustang into the shop for a tune up. When I got it back, the service manager says “Umm. Do you know you’ve got an extension cord wrapped up in your engine? We tried to pull it out, but it’s in there good!” 🤷‍♂️ None of them had ever heard of a block heater. Explaining what it’s for was like explaining dark magic to a Muggle.

  • The differential lock switches from left to right are: 1. front differential. This locks only the front axle differential. 2. Interaxle differential(s). This one locks the transfer case differential (splits power between the front and rear axles) and might also lock the rear interaxle diff (splits power between the middle and rear axles). 3. Rear axles. This one locks both rear axle differentials, and may also lock the rear interaxle differential if that isn't already controlled by the middle switch. Imagine that the truck is held completely off the ground, but with some friction on all 6 tires, so that when you hit the gas, the wheels spin. Having the vehicle in 6x6 with all the lockers unlocked means that only one wheel out of six will spin, specifically whichever one has the least traction (actually, depending on how the transfer case is set up, you might get one front and one rear, but anyway) Locking the center interaxle diff means one of the four rear wheels and one front wheel will spin (again, whichever ones have the least resistance). Lock the rear interaxle differential and one wheel on each of the three axles will spin, and then lock the three axle differentials to get all six wheels turning at once.

  • I remember driving a dually f-350 and f-550 and I was always told if the mirrors fit the rear will need to be straight when you go through. If the mirrors fit the ass end will if it’s inline with the fence posts. With the wider tires you should extend the mirrors all the way out to make sure the read fits properly.

    @roberttotoe9615@roberttotoe9615 Жыл бұрын
    • Yes, with the “standard” 6x6 wheels, but these wheels are aftermarket from Brabus and it seems that Brabus has not routed a air pressure line through the wheel hub to the tire bed. At 19:06 you can see that there is a normal “valve” sticking out of the tire. So James was right that the switches don’t actually work at the moment

Button 1 is for the transfer case, like the normal G-wagon, splitting the power 50% to the front and 50% to the rear except the rear in the 6x6 has 2 axles, meaning that the mid and rear axles share 50% of the power. • 5 diff locks is easy: -The left button's drawing shows you it controls the front diff lock, and it has number 3 on it because that's the last one you should lock up after all else fails -Middle button's graphic shows you it's the centre lock, it has number 1 on it because that's the first one you should engage when the going gets rough -Right button shows you the rear locks, all 3 of them (one for each rear axle and one for the diff between the two rear axles), and it has number 2 on the button because that's the second diff lock you should engage if only the centre lock is not enough to keep you going

  • 4:11 Of course Button1 is for the center diffs, one in the transfer case splits 30-70, and one for the rear axles, actually located on the middle axle that splits 40-30. The power split is for the unlocked state, if locked the split can be from almost 0 to almost 100%. Button 2 is for the rear axles, locks both diffs Button 3 for the front axle. This order is fixed, they cannot be locked in other ways than 1,2,3

    @G55STEYR@G55STEYR Жыл бұрын

  • On the standard G wagon the differential locks from left to right are: FRONT CENTRE REAR. They're numbered in the way that you're supposed to lock them in (center first...then rear....then front). Pretty sure there's something else about how you need to put it in neutral, then engage the low range gear box and then you can lock them. No idea how it works in the 6X6 though but my guess would be the center two lock together and rear two lock together?
