    • I'd say they did the best job among other androids, but still the OS and delay needs to get better on the watch for example and the connection time on buds 2 pro isnt as fast as well. I'm a huge samsung fan and user, but I'll admit these flaws. But sound wise buds 2 pro blows apple earbuds out of the water!

    • I feel like the Apple has the better ecosystem. With that being said though, Samsung comes quite close and even excels in some areas. Impressive given the fractured nature of Android and that Samsung isn't the creator of Android.

    • No winner as such, they cater for different tastes and needs. After being an Apple consumer for a number of years, the Samsung ecosystem is now sort of where I have settled: Samsung phone*, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and the Buds2 Pro. *I've since switched to a Google Pixel phone and have lost some functionality on the watch, not a big deal but may influence my next phone upgrade early next year. As far as laptop elements, for me, pretty much irrelevant. I can share files easily enough between phone and Windows devices. As for Dex, tried it purely out of curiosity but could not see the value or use case. I have a lightweight laptop that meets all my needs home and away.

    • I don't, and won't touch iMessage (unless I'm forced to by apple when I'm trying to sms an iPhone user) and I haven't once used Facetime. iPhones are just perfect, they're the secure little box that I want from a phone. It does all the phone things I need, and it does them well. I only use my phone for KZhead streaming; messaging on Instagram, Viber, WhatsApp, Signal, SMS and Discord; calling using the built in phone app; taking videos and photographs; and rarely, VERY RARELY, play some small, non-intensive mobile game. iPhones (SE excluded) just do that for me, performance-per-dollar-wise they are the very best. The cameras obliterate anything else when entering the $250+ range, and the video-quality-per-dollar is the very best at any price point of used, new, or refurbished phones. The taptic engine is incredible, the UI is super streamlined (google lens on the lock screen is a life changer for me!) and I get industry leading software support. 10 years from the date of release, 7 of which are full iOS versions is bonkers. The thing that rubs me the wrong way is how emoji support gets dropped for Android users extremely fast. It's literally a font, that should be an app you update, not an operating system.

  • One big advantage of the Samsung ecosystem over Apple's is charging. Simply put, all the devices charge using the same cord. Apple can't say that yet. In addition, Samsung pushes that advantage even farther by being able to charge the Watch and Buds using Wireless Power Share on the back of many Galaxy phones.

That millisecond of time saving isn't going to justify buying a 1300 dollar ipad from apple vs. the 800 dollar samsung tablet, when in reality the tablet is much better than the ipad. So no id go with samsung for the tablet. The same thing goes for the laptop , mac for triple the price or a dell that can do just the same or a better job for half the price??

I just love the versatility that Samsung offers in their software and the premium hardware that just feels and looks amazing. OH AND DEX, I can easily go to my lectures with just my Tab S7+ and have no need for a laptop, except for Excel, but there's a workaround even for that on their tablets. It's also really helpful to mirror my screen to a larger screen during study sessions and control it with ease 😁Even though everyone around me uses iMessages and Facetime, I have no problems messaging friends through discord, snap, or if necessary, SMS/MMS. I'm actually seeing some people with androids in the wild instead of Apple, which is refreshing to see. Switching from the Note 20 Ultra to the S23 Ultra in 2 days!

It's what you like at that time and suits your lifestyle- work ethics, both have their pro's and cons. Dex, Microsoft are better to use than the Apple products and quicker, I would say the security is equal in my opinion but I do think Apple Pay seems better than the Google Pay I am using at present. Sometimes, the card machines are hit & miss and I need to get my card out, never had this with Apple products. Obviously, facetime is fantastic with iphone's or ipad's it's harder to get people who are in the apple system to use Google Duo but if they do, it works well. • I was all about that customisation and flexibility with Android/Samsung, but as I get older and busier I have come to appreciate what Apple offers. Stable and good looking devices/operating systems with good long term/enterprise support. Managing an Android/Linux or Android/Windows ecosystem started feeling like a side job because stuff kept breaking integrations because everybody is doing its own thing. Not that this is a bad thing, it fosters innovation and great things have spurred from that, but I don't feel like it is for me anymore. I now prefer the faster security software updates and tighter integration, specially considering that the iPhone gets better as more people around you gets one and my family started moving to Apple recently as well. Another point is that to have as good an experience with a phone or tablet you spend the same for a flagship android device in which the Hardware technically more powerful, but third party apps are not as well optimised and the OS runs on a virtualisation layer which makes the flagship experience feel inferior on Android. Also Samsung laptops need windows to have good integration with the rest of the ecosystem, but still not as well integrated as Macs are and Windows SUCKS for anything other than gaming. Powershell is a joke, installing apps is a uncontrolled mess riddled with malware and a very recent pitiful centralised repository that only has a command line interface. The default apps lack functionality and their obsession with backwards compatibility turns everything into a bloated mess.

In that time I used FaceTime maybe three times, Airdrop was extremely annoying and I had to turn it off, and Imessage was an interesting novelty, having blue messages and whatnot. I recently switched to the Samsung ecosystem, due to wanting to try the Z Fold, and I was immediately blown away by how much more you could do with the andriod operating system compared IOS. The addition of a consistent back button at the bottom of the screen, as well as better home screen customisation are just some of the features making andriod far superior. One of the biggest things for me is the additions made by the GoodLock application, giving nearly complete control and customisation to all of the features making andriod already great. Honestly, apple hardware tends to be slightly better on average for standard phones, smart watches, and headphones, but the andriod operating system is vastly superior to IOS. Also samsung has folding phones that are amazing and definitely my best mobile experience so far.

There are so many steps to do in a sync. You dont need to Do those things yourself but for example in ios it sync only with icloud. Thats it. And thats makes it a fast and seamless ecosystem. I told them that I use samsung pay from my samsung watch and it works when the employees told me that it does not work. I even dropped my gear s3 multiple times when I take it off my wrist to charge it and there is no damage on the screen and I have no screen protector on my samsung watch. I even bought the samsung refurbished from best buy years ago and I use it all the time. I was using the tic wris android watch before I used the samsung watch. The tic wris runs full android with full access to the google play store. The tic wris smart watch is basically like an android phone that you can wear on your wrist with it's 2.86 inch display. The tic wris can do everything an android can do. I saw a youtube video awhile ago with someone playing the call of duty mobile and watching youtube videos on there android smart watch. The android smart watch is similar to the tic wris android smart watch in the youtube video. Random strangers would ask me questions about the watch because they thought it looked interesting and it has a massive screen for a smart watch. The tic wris smart watch has 32gb of internal storage, 2880 mah battery, almost 3,000 mah battery on a smartwatch, 480 by 640 display, 8 mp camera, physical sim card slot, 4g lte support, android 7.1 but every android app that I tried from the google play store works even 3rd party launchers since you can download 3rd party launchers and you can even sideload android apps on the android watch itself. I even used to put my cricket wireless sim card on the tic wris and use it as an android phone. Everyone I know including my friends and family use facebook messenger since we already communicate thru facebook messenger, before facebook and facebook messenger existed, we would communicate by talking on the phone, text message or even thru myspace. I actually miss using myspace, I got so bored of facebook, I use Facebook to communicate with friends and family but I mainly use facebook marketplace to buy and sell stuff just like offerup. If myspace was a thing again and the option to go back to myspace would be an option, I would go back to myspace again and I used google plus alot before google discontinued google plus.

With recent experience, S23 Ultra was by far the best Galaxy I've ever used except... I did have some issues with my eyes, potentially coming from low PWM on Galaxy's display. Also, the watch 5 experience was the worst ever, felt like it was even worse than the Apple Watch Series 3 I used back then. (To provide more context, cannot believe how it performs considering its 2022 product, the connection doesn't seem to be stable, it's connected, still alive, and it's on my wrist, but phone notifications kept coming on my phone, not watch. Music controller, more than half the time didn't show up when the music played.) - Also, just like Apple Watch now,, Galaxy Watch from 5 no longer works with non-android, so that is also now isolated ;) Dex - I get the concept. But... I don't know, at least with me, I don't think I've ever seen any places that only have Monitor and Mouse/keyboard that my phone can be a PC box.... and if they have a laptop/desktop connected, I don't know when I would use mobile os over the dedicated/more powerful windows/mac operating system.

  • Important point that wasn't really mentioned in the video, mainly as just food for thought: The Apple system encompasses all ios/apple devices - meaning if you use ios, it's 100% an apple device which is part of the reason why the ecosystem feels so broad and seamless. For software programming, all iphones are running the same or similar versions of ios and a small group of known hardware/firmware, so it's easy to keep everything nicely programmed and integrated as well. Conversely, samsung is just ONE FACET of android phones. With android, there's nothing phones, pixels, oneplus, etc etc etc etc. Because of how much variety there is on the market, it's much more difficult to have a fully robust and seamless interface between all of them. Same with windows devices, when it comes to the laptops. If you like the variety that comes with choosing android but then handcuff yourself to samsung's ecosystem, it boils down to the same thing with iphone and the apple ecosystem. Yes that also makes the inverse true if you want to talk about an open source software/ui, but let's be real here....that has very little impact nowadays, anyways. Not voting for one or the other with this post, just pointing out another point of consideration!

  • This is a video that is sorely needed with so many people overhyping the Apple ecosystem. However, I would like to point out that Nearby Share has recently been released to Windows as a "beta" (I have had no issues with it so far though). Having nearby share on ANY Windows device is honestly a complete gamechanger. To me, there is no competition. Samsung has the better ecosystem any day of the week considering that a Samsung phone can Quick Share to other Galaxy devices AND Nearby Share to any Android/Windows device. And that's on top of Dex integration with Samsung TVs, reverse wireless charging for earbuds, etc. Samsung link sharing is also equally important as Nearby Share/Quick Share. It bypasses the file size limits of pretty much every 3rd party messaging app, including iMessage. As for messaging, RCS has the huge benefit of having reaction support when messaging iPhone users. I get the green bubble pestering a lot, but at the end of the day, my experience doesn't suffer. It's the iPhone user who has a bad messaging experience. Slight error in the video: Google Messages is default on all new Samsung phones, so you get complete chat functionality with all Android phones.

I also love samsung for the ui/ux customizability. You can use Good Lock to customize virtually everything on your phone to your liking. The ability to automatically download icon packs is another great reason why I use android/samsung. I dont, but rooting is a really great thing to have for more tech savvy users who are tired of the limitations that stock has.

    @adyyvhbgcfbjjggghbbcgg@adyyvhbgcfbjjggghbbcgg9 ай бұрын
    • Customization is good to a point. It's really cool when you're like 15 years old and you're testing different ROMs, kernels and launchers every week. I used to be like that when I got my first smartphone, the Galaxy S1 Plus, back in 2011. It's really fun to mess about with your device and learn how it works, especially when you're young. Once you mature a bit and start actually living your life, you won't bother with customization so much even if you're tech savvy. Especially if you're doing tech support as a job. You just want your own devices to JUST. WORK. when you pick them up. ALWAYS. It's as simple as that. And the devices that do always work are made by Apple. All Android phones crap out one way or another after a while and 'ain't nobody got time fo' dat'. People who claim they don't are just lying to people and to themselves. Yes, Apple devices aren't 100% reliable either, but they're miles better than Android devices and the issues that pop up are usually easier to solve. Technology is supposed to enhance your life and adapt to your needs, not the other way around. If you spend hours tinkering with your phone instead of spending time with family or going out, you're doing it wrong. The moment you need to tinker with something, that device has stolen time from you. Time that you won't ever get back. This is what people don't realize. And even if technology is your hobby and you're very passionate, one could argue that there are healthier hobbies out there. Nothing beats spending time with other people. Apple is the brand that's closest to achieving the ideal tech future, which looks like this: Your phone is broken. You go to the phone store to pick up a new one and just say: "I'll have a phone, please". Then they sell you the same phone that everyone else on the planet uses. It's just called 'phone'. There are no brands. You don't need to choose between 500 different options and worry about specs and shit. Everyone is connected in the same way, using the same devices, the same software and humanity's focus is on living their life, not on arguing on the internet about which technology is superior. There is no competition because all devices are able to tailor themselves to each individual's needs, like they should, so there's no reason for variety. Tech variety is just another way of dividing people when the goal should be to unify everyone. People will disagree with me on this, but they're wrong. They just don't realize it yet. That's the reason why Apple ads and events are less focused on specs and more focused on what you can actually do with the products and how they make your life better. It's because specs don't matter for shit. They're just numbers on a screen. Example: Yay, my phone charges 50% faster than yours. Congrats, so what? Are we all not charging our phones overnight anyway? They're all at 100% charge when we wake up. Who cares that yours only took 4 hours to get there and mine took 8? All that matters is the end product and how it improves your life. How it enables you to connect with other people. This is what technology is all about. There are Android phones with way better specs than iPhones, but they're not as user friendly and familiar to people. They would need to tinker with them and spend time to find workarounds for various issues or simply get used to the different software, which again is time that device is stealing from them.

    • @@Alex-hv3ir In my opinion the phones have good battery life, especially the 7 series, and their tablet is coming in 2 months. So may be with pixel watch 2 or 3 they would have a compelling ecosystem

    • @@Alex-hv3ir I've heard more people complain about Samsung and Apple watches having absolute terrible battery life so that's across the board for watches I never recommend watches for anyone it's the stupidest thing ever their battery life is anywhere from 3 to 4 hours and that's if you're stretching it I've heard multiple complaints about people just returning cuz they said this thing is absolutely stupid in terms of the budget Samsung has a ridiculous amount of budget phones so they are dominating that market Apple has that absolutely retarded iPhone SE and if you want to defend that thing I know your IQ is below two who the hell wants a 720 piece screen on a 4.8 in screen LCD panel and have enormous bezels and battery life is absolute trash or what it has the flagship chip inside of it it's still absolutely trash so that's apples budget line and it's garbage

    • @@Alex-hv3ir pixels a series is about the best value for dollar in terms of all budget phones for example The Pixel 6A goes on sale for $299 and valley $4 that is ridiculous value for dollar It hits everything You need in a phone unfortunately Samsung with the other out with the a53 and they put in a absolutely s***** processor but with a 120 Hz panel and everyone loves that but if the chip can't keep up with the damn panel it sucks it's laggy it's stutters it's terrible so they took the long one route on the chip but as I stated iPhone went the high end route on the chip but absolutely s***** for the the panel the resolution of it panel itself nobody has LCDs anymore it's all OLED and then such a tiny ass screen and a tiny ass battery so the pixel is like that Goldilocks very middle 60 Hz panel flagship chip OLED panel it's incredible hell it even one the blind test camera award out of all the flagships the Pixel 6A took the crown the 6A with a smaller camera capacity it won I'm talking about the s230 I'm talking about the iPhone 14 pro Max I'm talking about everything it won number one people chose their pictures It was ridiculous and that's a $2.99 phone versus $1,400 phones versus $1,200 phones versus $1,000 phones

    • @@Alex-hv3ir as for apples tablets I would say again it's mainly in the chip but they are the fastest everyone knows that that's great but in terms of the tablet you don't even need that much power In fact Apple is actually limiting the power that can be actually used by that bloody m1 chip which is honestly amazing because of the iOS and everybody complains about that and by everybody I mean iPad users otherwise they do that on purpose so the iPad sales don't eat into the MacBook sales so in terms of the MacBook if you want to talk about that even with the $1,000 MacBook and m1 chip that we got the speakers were great The screen was good The bill was good but yet they still managed to put a 720p camera in there that looks like it was from 2010 It is horrendous I would accept that from a $400 laptop $500 laptop but not from $1,000 MacBook this even wanted to I think that the MacBook pro was and the way they fixed it which is not even fixing it they made a app so that you could use your iPhone it's camera as a webcam so that's hilarious so in order for me to actually have a good video call I would have to buy an iPhone plus my MacBook so we're talking about around $2,000 low end so if you want to bring up all the weaknesses of everyone else apples are really dropping the ball here and they're laughing too they're like oh they're still going to buy their idiots

  • so glad you brought up MST. By far the coolest thing samsung has done aside from DeX. MST enabled using tap to pay with card readers that retailers hadn't upgraded to accept NFC. Sad thing is Walmart was so against tap to pay that they even went out of their way to block samsungs MST, it would freeze the checkout terminal and walmart would have to reboot it. There are 2 reasons I would use a samsung phone over any other androiud and MST was one of them until they removed it. DeX is the other but sadly its not a need for me, its just really cool to have.
