I am an engineer borned and raised in Mexico, and I know the kind of things that we have to do in the third world in countries, due to the lack of budget, tools and specialy imported spare parts. I did some prety amazing jobs myself, But the level that these guys reach in solving problems, the quality of their job and the artwork is just out of this world. And you have to add the total lack of safety and other enviromental conditions under wich they have to work. I just have to say FREAKING AMAZING.

Excellent work guys, I have the luxury of living in Ireland where we can buy whatever we want including all the genuine spare parts from Germany to repair these things. But the way you straightened and reinforced the chassis rails is a credit to you all and the way you cut those rails with the torch was like a CNC plasma cutter. Utter respect!! It is amazing what skills can be found in so called third world countries. That frame repair was a joy to watch, from how they straightened out the damage, to how they fabricated and fitted the doubler plate. The result no doubt being just as strong, if not stronger than original. Here, in our so called first world countries we would have simply scrapped the whole thing and replace it with new. I cannot help but think about how little energy went into repairing that frame, compared to how much more energy would be used to make a complete new frame, plus of course, the energy we would use in recycling the old frame. We simply waste so much in our 'first world' countries.

New plastic but not the right steel. Frame strengthening is a closed profile now and it will soon start to rust. There is a reason why trucks got open profile frames.
exept for the dirty and rusted part they dont clean ....
@@michachmiel6210 That exactly how a double frame from the manufacturer is done.
@@buellb0y It just so happens that I worked on the production of such elements and it is not done. Just because something looks nice doesn't mean it's good. You can convert a Firebird to a Ferrari, but it's still a Firebird, just nicer. Such components are subjected to a corrosion protection bath. You should also remember about the fatigue of the material, which occurred in excess here. Heating and breaking with a hammer will not restore the old efficiency. Welded reinforcement improves performance, but until the steel begins to corrode. Weld spots always corrode first. The only protection used here is ordinary paint. It sparkles until rust comes out from underneath.
@@buellb0y Except a double frame from a manufacturer is built from high tensile structural steel and not the mild steel used here.
The reinforcement insert for that chassis was absolutely mind blowing. It probably works better then the factory chassis honestly and will allow for a greater load compared to its original spec.

Chassis strengthening is impressive. Overall, great end result!
Усиление рамы чем? Металлом, который гнется как пластилин? Сомнительное усиление
I don't believe repairing a chassis that's bent like this will ever be good again, but they did strengthen the shit out of it! I wouldn't be surprised the chassis is actually stronger than it was before! Only heavier. Truly very impressive!
Frame strengthening will rust. They made closed profile. That's not how to repair truck frame look. But they used that what they had to do the job. Anyway repair was wrong in longer term.
@@michachmiel6210 A lot of trucks have an inner rail just like they fitted, they’ve legitimately done a good job with this truck.
@@zeroyon4562 Yes thats true, but don't forget they didn't secure that from rusting. Paint used only on visible areas. First thing that is rusting is welding marks. Repair looks ok but in longer term it will break. Not only suspension is working but frame as well. This is not how to do such a repair.
Only with the piece of frame they build with that stange shape and perfectly fit inside old chassis, they deserve ALL my respect and admiración! After that rest is peanuts!
Excellent work by real professionals with hard work and good experience. In Europe usually these trucks go to scrap metal for melting, because repairing this truck is economically unprofitable..
That is a bad ass truck, it's so satisfying to see it come back to life from a pile of scrap. Having those extra frame pieces would make me feel very confident driving it.
They just not only repaired the frame, they improved it
Now it wont bend in the same place))).

They had to reinforce the frame, it bent in the middle. it was compromised, it wouldn't be the same.
