  • I'm often reminded of what Bruce Lee said, to: "Research your own experience. Absorb what is useful. Discard what is useless. And add what is uniquely your own." Keep on rockin'! 🤘

  • I agree with you 100%. I was in law enforcement for 30 years and had both good and bad supervisors. As I became a supervisor, I used what I learned from good leaders. Avoided most things that the egotistical leaders represented. I learned from officers senior to me and on occasion from the newer guy. When I became a Lt. the administration wanted a separation from your officers and created a us and them mentality. I never fit in with them and continued to go with my Sgts and my men werewatched over and protected from administration nonsense. I found if they trusted me, they would complete any task given to them. I've been retired a year now, and I do miss those guys.

  • Jocko, are you going to address any of the new information given about TF bruiser? I saw a video of a guy who’s was supposibly a team guy who said some pretty harsh stuff about you and TF bruiser. I take it with a grain of salt as there are 3 sides to every story but just was wondering if you were going to address any of it?

  • Absolutely love that you guys bring this topic up. In my years of teaching Yoga, I regularly would attend beginner classes of teachers I didn't know for many reasons. 1) I like to see how others instruct & how beginner students translate what they hear/see. 2)How new students bodies move & identify how to take them through whatever has got them caught up. 3)Talk to the students & the teacher after class. I absorbed a wealth of knowledge by being open to to learning from others no matter their level. Thank you guys for having sharing this content.

  • these things could be true 1. the willingness to submit, listen, or learn is required to master oneself, it's also courtesy, and one has to take lessons from the saints to learn that, or also civics, or important culture 2. as to specifically being able to learn something from everyone the answer is an iffy yes, or usually to most, or that there are negative lessons, good, or casual, or one can learn what to do, what not do, or the consequences of this, or that looking at people, or listening 3. the choice, or social skill to listen, admire, or respect other people is an important side of character, or also wisdom, or for that reason it's worth knowing, to add to spiritual personality 4. having a network, friends, or the succes of marriage, or work often depends on that skill, or being willing to assume, or support other people to their wants, ideas, or traditions, or that one could say it's a four way - win to be able to listen, or learn, and a zero loss to character, or also courtesy to not

  • humility is a virtue, however to ensure learning 1. character 2. humility 3. fortitude 4. prayer those four are what anchors one to truth, or ensures that's one learning correctly, or that it serves the saints, however humility is a wonderful virtue, and if one added wisdom and one could have the answer to everything humble people don't necessarily have succes, or power, however they tend to have ' succes ' at life, marriage, or their personal lives, or it's a weird virtue that gives rewards in places people don't think, or tend to see as what they want

Their knowledge may or may not be useful to you such as the fastest way to remove copper from a microwave or how to survive on the streets, etc but most people know at least a few things that you don't know.

  • I see this issue very complicated Jock, the thing is is prepfered to analyses the thread and sometimes comprehensive, its value worthy to make agressive or attack if you have the instruction to a drunk man that bodders you or your girlfrined i mean is seek person alchoolic or drugaddicted. so its better just to advice her from the heart or faith and ignored the disrectfull and just leave with you girlfriend instead like hit him, maybe not to act deffensively tough... just to empsthasize and keep ego away just a point of view as seal man can be this solve this way or cause fear and be painfull with other that are not in their same frequency, i mean this agressor is all ready suffering... just a question, ovbiously dependes on the enviroment i mean war zones or extreme violents places, but in a daily situation in the town on bar o supemermaket, just a reflection thanks for yoir podcast amazing philosophical thoughs... what would the best path ... thanks your podcast truly amazing

  • Yes, it's just hard to find someone worth learning from in the modern progressive bubble. Y'know that one scene from Good Will Hunting where Robin Williams explains to Matt Damon that he's just a kid repeating things he read in books, and has no idea what he's actually talking about? Replace books for vlogs, and kid with middle-aged adult... and that's the average modern person. There ain't a whole lot of much you can learn from most of them that you couldn't pick up within 5 minutes of their favorite livestream.

But am disappointed by the fact that I click on a channel, subscribe and find myself needing to re-subscribe to another platform to continue the same subject topic. Well, no thanks.
