Nice of Jordan to finally refer to Chris as his spouse.
Does Evelyn like it? 😀
It's great to have choices. I think Canon, Nikon and Sony are all great brand choices nowadays for Mirrorless. Depends on the user which system they prefer.
100% agree, there's so much negativity about better this faster that, they are all amazing 😵 what a magical time to be alive
Totally agree. If you can’t crush it with any of these cameras, your problem is technique. Image quality and AF will be great on all (though worst on Canon b/c of the lower megapixel count). Consumers will pick which ever feels best in hand, has the glass they want/need and that they can afford. If you are lucky enough to own any of these three cameras, you win. Personally, I’d go for the Sony b/c I’m a wimp and place a high priority on weight. I need to hit the gym or something. :)
I just need lots of bokeh and super reliable eye tracking autofocus. Which system is best for that?
@@Seanonyoutube these have same bokeh, I think Sony has the edge with AF at lower budget like A7iv a7C
@@mirrorlessny but max aperture for Sony is 1.4? I heard Canon 85mm RF f/1.2 is sick. My budget for body + lens is about 6k USD.
Camera's aside I think Jordan deserves some recognition for his excellent video recording and editing skills, bravo.
Yes and the fact that he never blinks

Also for me as for a not native English speaker, Jordan speaks much more understandable. I always struggle listening to Chris.
Z6 shooter here. I love what Nikon has done with the Z9 but I'd love it in a smaller body. I'd upgrade if Nikon drops the rumored "Z8"
❤🙌
I think definetly they are coming with a smaller z8. I see the same sensor and expeed with just smaller buffer and some cutdown feature like no prores or even 8k 60p. It will be the perfect competitor to the R5. My only problem is when. The other brands have nowadays more or less a coherent line and for us, its z9 and then the rest. Its like a big gap in between, you just look in envy to those that can warrant the cost and just sit, because there is no R5.
I've got the a1 and I love the fact it's not too big. I like to shoot birds and wildlife but also go hiking with it clipped to my shoulder strap, the other 2 are just too big despite all 3 being great cameras
@@danielvilliers612 Z8 might be very high megapixel rather than a baby Z9, if it even exists and it's not just the Z7iii that folks are waiting for. I've got the Z6 too, and investing in lenses, but i'd love to see what the mark iii generation brings.
@@sarfaraz.hosseini Why should the Z8 has to be higher megapixel. Until now the D3-D6 have been lower megapixel, The Nikon D2x was the flagship high megapixel during the days. So Nikon always change model specification . Everyone was astonished by the high megapixel d800 which was supposed to be the successor of the D700. The Z8 will have to be a very high seller for Nikon, so a very broad camera spec and not a niche one. So I don't expect a high megapixel camera at all. At least not above 45 megapixel.
I think one of the most important aspects is missing: the lenses available.
Agreed, especially if you're on a budget I always recommend sony to people since there is so many great cheap 3rd party lens options
Yeah that is important. Fod me im happy Canon have all the rf lenses i need and the ef to rf adapter works really good altoug i would prefer not to use one, nikons old lenses doesnt work that good on their new mirrorlwss camera .
Yep agreed, you have a date with a camera but you marry the lenses 😉👋
@@fragu123 This is a very good metaphor! And the cost of a divorce with the lenses is probably very high.
@@YakAlmighty as if people on a budget buy such cameras - sit down, F.
Always great and fun video from you all. For me, there is not much chance of switching systems. With an extensive investment in Nikon lenses, I am very happy to see the Z9 being so competitive with the other two brands. Will have to get my order in! 😀
You’re all wrong: The puppy is the clear winner.
So TRUE....I found myself WAY more interested in the puppy than the debate about the cameras. Puppy wins...
I would take the Z9 hands down. Not just for the specs, Nikon Z Cameras are just so fun and nice to shoot with. It is hard to describe but I simply connect to Nikon cameras. The better screen, the menu, the shoulder display, the lcd display, all feels right.
I absolutely love watching you guys. Thanks for a great side by side comparison.
I'm so happy that I did not leave Nikon. I waited for this moment and picked up my Z9 last weekand. All I can say is WOW! I barely missed a shot while taking pictures of Eagles and they are soo sharp.
Great to see everyone having lots of fun and just showing off the quirks and strengths of each camera. Each on great and will fit into any ones tool belt quite nicely!
Didn't realize the Drakes are double dipping in the YT world... Good work
The Nikon Z9 is a clear winner for me, everything I would dream to have in a camera, and ... it's a Nikon. I cannot imagine any scenario where, at this point in my life (73-year-old enthusiast), I would consider changing brands. Can't be sure which one, but there's a new Nikon camera somewhere in my future, as I move away from DSLRs. If finances permit, my next camera will be a Nikon Z9.
So many of my favourite camera reviewer personalities all in one video! I have no budget for any of these, but I will watch just to see all of you :)
Just looking at the scenario a few months ago when everyone was criticising Nikon for its autofocus. The Z9 winning the autofocus defeating the sony A1 is an unbelievable feat. Edit : I do agree we need more thorough reviews. But do rememeber that in no situation involving action was Nikon close to Sony or Canon before. Let's wait for Steve Perry and Mark Smith to release their reviews for the wildlife and maybe Jared Polin for Sports comparison
Unbelievable is a perfect choice of words for this one...lol
Please wake me up when sport professionals or birders make a decent back to back comparison in which the Z9 has faster or more accurate AF than the A1. I haven't seen that even being tested in this video.
the big question is how much of Z9 autofocusing prowess will trickle down to future versions of Z5 Z6 Z7, I hope all of it 🎬📷Z9 is such a beast 😵
@@mirrorlessny Tracking software maybe. But focus speed mostly comes from the scanning speed of the fast stacked sensors. And those are too expensive to manufacture to be put in "cheaper" bodies.
@@daran0815 That will change.
So glad Nikon have got back into the game, my first proper camera was a Nikon and stuck with them for years but had to jump ship to Sony due to video requirements, can see me jumping back again!
Same here. I loved the D300, liked the D810. Waited and waited for video autofocus and 4K 60 but it took way too long. By the time it came out they were still behind Sony and Canon. Unfortunately I’m not overly thrilled with the Sony A1 I switched to last Spring. All these people drooling over image quality makes me want to catch that drool with a paper towel and clean their eyeballs with it. The video is good though, as long as autofocus is working.
How is the r3 the best with buffering? Has same fps and buffer as the a1 but at HALF the resolution. Any perceived loss due to the Sony compression is moot compared the loss of half the resolutions. Pretty dubious choice there guys
Probably payed shilling
Because more images can fit in the same sized buffer? That effectively means that buffering is better. For Sony to have equivelent buffering they'd need to double the size and they didn't.
@@GrantMcWilliams this makes no sense. A1 and R3 reportedly can buffer the same number of images (150) yet sony has twice the resolution. Effectively the Canon has a buffer memory of half the size. How is that better?

amazing debate, i like it. The three cameras display their respective advantages. now it depends on us, which one do we prefer, everything is good, depends on our preferences

YES - waiting for you to do this comparison
That’s why I love my Nikon Z9 !! I have the Sony A1 as well but once you see Nikon colors straight out of the box with no tweaking you will understand what’s so special about Nikon.
@Siddharth Sriram Both Nikon and Sony lenses are very sharp. There is no question about that. I typically use Zeiss Otus or Milvus lenses for shooting video which has amazing rendition and contrast. For run and gun situations I use native Sony or Nikon lenses which work perfectly . However if you are in a more controlled and slow pace scenario , i will advise you to look into manual Zeiss lenses. They are amazing !
Also the Nikon's overall experience and ergonomics are far superior! ❤🙌
So true! I tried the Sony once.. hated the Color’s among other things as well.. love my Z9! Awesome Color’s always

I am so happy about how Nikon catched up so well with Nikon Z9
If you weren't considering resolution while discussing the burst rate, why not give the Z9 more credit for the 120 fps?
Because they weren't discussing it withing reason haha.
Because they're jpegs
Well, they're pretty low res .jpg files. It's sort of a gimmick with only a few use cases - not something the average user would be considering as the main "burst rate".
@@logitech4873 I think photojournalists might use it when they need speed. It's likely their editors require JPEG images.
@@oneeyedphotographer Yeah that's a possible use case. But I'm sure you agree that it's a bit limiting for most shooters. My first digital camera (Casio EX-F1) had a similar 60fps burst rate. Rarely got much use out of it.
Great to see you guy together.
OMG that puppy. Showstopper and winner of this video. If I had to choose I'd go with the Z9. Price, af, video, winner winner camera.
ive used sony for 14 years and have no thoughts in moving to canon or nikon so for me the A1 is insane and perfect for my uses
Absolutely love this @Chris, @Evelyn & @Kyle. This was great fun watching … I barely paid attention to all the camera specs you guys were tossing at each other and was more interested in the way you made such a very nerdy thing like a mini-comic performance. This is how reviews should be !!
One of the major shooting hobbits I changed is to shoot with live view screen instead of looking through the at little hole. Nikon Z9 is the best in my option, it is flexible in viewing angles and it doesn’t flip to the side, to me having the camera align with the subject is very important.
Excellent review and very informative.

I'm sure we will run into you again! Seems to be a trend. I'd absolutely love to have you model for use in our videos. Careful what you wish for though Murray. 😀
Is there a full production review for the Z9?
Damn, I love your videos guys :). Nice to see, that the sony is such a great camera, even if its nearly one year older than the other two. As a nikon z9 shooter, I am so happy every day, that this camera does such a great job, I love it. And as said by many other before: It is nice to see, that every large brand has a camera, you can do almost everything with it ;). But there is one thing I did not understand in your comparison. It is the burst rate: Why is Sony on second place with lossy compressed raw? The Z9 has such a great format with the 14bit high efficiency * format, I can't see the difference. And with that format, it can do a lot lot more shots in a row. ;)
Sony's perfected the art of blowing smoke..... 30/20fps in raw but at what quality ? You're absolutely right about this observation
Please learn how to use commas.
How times have changed! Nikon's flagship gets the nod for best video options of all 3, (plus best hybrid camera perhaps)! This is the comeback story of the year! We will see what Canon does next to catch up. The R3 is not the flagship for Canon, that is still to come according to Canon.
Yet another wise and fun video, respect! It's great the way all three are so good and hard to separate overall. When any of these brands release their next offering, it's going to be tough to prove its any better than these 3, other than numbers on a spec sheet...
What does the A1 EVF drop down to that you are so worried about? I like the EVF and don't notice any issues on A1, it's awesome
@@jimmyqballs Yeah if the A1 drops down momentarily to the max res of R3 and I don't notice that it dropped at all, How is that a win for the R3? *I have never had an R3 in my hands so I don't know what it is like.
Best bang for your buck will always be the Nikon Z9 🙌🏻
I'm a Canon and Olympus shooter, but after viewing this, if I had to choose one of those three, I'd probably go with the Sony. Overall, I preferred what I was seeing with the Nikon, but they totally lost me at electronic shutter only. Too bad, really. As for Canon's controls, if I go by the EOS R, which I own, honestly, I generally prefer the control interface on my Olympus E-M1. Finally, the body is only part of the equation. From what I've seen, Canon and Nikon have pretty closed ecosystems when it comes to lenses for their new mounts. The availability of more reasonably priced third party lenses for the Sony mount makes that system so much more attractive to me. I kind of wish that I'd picked a different brand when I decided to add "full-frame" to my kit. As solid, and reliable as my Canon is, a couple of years in, I'm really not seeing enough advantages over my m43rds system to justify the investment, and there's no way I'm gonna pay for any more of that "L" glass. It's good, but waaay too much money. Please Sigma and Tamron, get some lenses out for RF and Z mounts.
Pretty soon there will be no such thing as mechanical shutter.
@@strongereveryday2302 Yep, I have no doubt but as long as they are available, I'll probably want one on my camera. Unless, of course, the readout speed and readout method from the sensor becomes so good that there is absolutely no need for a mechanical shutter. We aren't quite there yet as far as I can see.
This is a top notch review of three of the top FF mirrorless cameras plus I love the diverse personalities of the three photographers and the mostly unseen Jordan. I wish that you had a way to include an experienced OM-1/Olympus wildlife photographer in your line up during the puppy-in-the -open-field test. The OM-1 is not yet a giant killer, but it would have scored well in a number of categories. Now, OM Systems needs to redesign to M1X to match the best of the FF set ups in all but pixels. Cheers!
Good Job Guys ... Nice thorough review.. cheers
I wish it any of these were in my budget. I would go with z9 if I was getting one of these.
Looks like Sony is doing very well in the categories most important in a camera: image quality and autofocus:)
Im still debating between nikon and panasonic
Great video, thank you all :)
Super fun video! Oh man tuff having to mic three people! Did you drop a zoom recorder in someone's pocket or run a multitple receivers to a record with more channels?
Coming back to answer my own question. This must have been filmed on the GH6 with the XLR adapter for all the inputs. It just wasn't quite official yet. ;-)
Welcome back Nikon !!
A year ago when only the a1 was out it's be hard to believe it would come in 3rd in any ranking. Shows how far the industry has come in a short time.
But even without any lens from these systems, I would pick a1 just because of the smaller size, efficient codec, lens selection.
@@frankfeng2701 yea portability is the big winning factor for A1, but overall it's awesome to see capable & even superior alternatives
@@mirrorlessny Funny, for me it’s the opposite; I have always slapped a battery grip on my previous DSLR bodies just to get that full body handling that I need out in the field. Although I have the option to take it off I actually never do that because the vertical grip is so important to me. I also do a lot of hiking with it, always keeping it in my hand. Not tucked down in my backpack. That’s what I love about the Z9 and R3. Personally, I would never go mirrorless for the miniature body sizes only. That’s not what mirrorless is about, for me.
Yeah but it's DPRTV so you expect the Sony to lose.
@@freetibet1000 @mirrorlessNY I think you guys are hitting on the exact conclusion that the video is making - that uses can pick the system that fits for them without sacrificing anything. Want a small and compact body? Get the Sony. Want the full body handling you're used to with DSLRs? Pick Canon or Nikon. No matter what you choose you're getting the best the industry has to offer, and that's a great place to be from a customer standpoint.
Good informative video, thanks.
Thanks for the good video. Appreciated the content and enjoyed it :)
Although my baby the A1 only got 3rd place, it’s wonderful to see that all three companies have such strong showings in the market today. However I should point out that, in my opinion, Sony arguably has the best lens support out of the bunch. I get that this is a body comparison, but it’s such a crucial aspect of choosing a body that I think it deserves a mention.
A Canon shooter still has the range of EF lenses to draw on. I'd not switch brand unless I was confident my existing lenses will work wll enough.
They all have their lens line ups. Nikon has some excellent lens now that are decent price and great smaller size. Canon has amazing RF lenses which I’m in love with. No C/A, fringing, etc. Even the cheap 24-105 F4 is spectacular! Sony 24-105 F4 wasn’t anywhere near as superb as that. I was a Sony shooter recently too. They do have some affordable glass that’s great though. Tamron has some great ones too. A1 looks like an incredible camera! Sony has been killing of for years and they are the ones who started this whole mirrorless full frame fun!
It quite odd to think a sane person will splurge $6500 on a camera only to skimp on glass..when I see statements from fanboys like this it's obvious they ain't tried other systems. Canon && Nikon have a history of over 60 years of glass that will work on the mirrorless bodies ( sure some may not autofocus but you've got choices)..and these lenses have a character and not the clinical and digital look you get from recent lens (esp. Sony's glass)..
??? The Nikon at least has the FTZ adapter to use like 20 years worth of previous F lens. You’ve got well over 100 lenses right there.
One area, which wasn't mentioned was lenses and really that is just if not more important than the cameras themselves. Really you need to do a video on the lens situation for the different systems, with the new lenses available as well as the older lenses that can fit each system.
Sony will still come in the last place, these other guys have great lenses with their excellent adapters.
@@OkwyUgonweze I don't think so. The new lenses are way better than the old ones, this is especially important for mirrorless cameras where the subject can be anywhere in the frame, even at the edges where the new lenses are way sharper than the old ones. So adapting old lenses is only a temporary thing people do. Looking at the current lineup of new native lenses Sony has the edge because 3rd party lense makers like Sigma and Tamron have been adding excellent lenses at very affordable prices.
@@OkwyUgonweze sony will be in the first place for mirrorless lenses, even if you add the A mount lenses vs the f mount and ef(they had more prime lenses at the extreme telephoto focal lenghts)
Thanks for another blockbuster video but MOST enjoyed NEW mix of talent !!! Bravo !!!👋👌👍👏🙌🙏
No need to thank The Camera Store - This is literally The Camera Store !!
Is it me, or is Chris never shooting using the "DP Reviews Favourite" fully articulating screen? He always uses the OVF or EVF on cameras? Fully articulating for macro or birds makes finding a subject much harder, and slower to get the screen out initially.
He mentioned in another video that he does prefer to use the view finder if he can, "even on a tripod". I think the thing about the articulating screen is that maybe you don't use it a lot, but if you need it it's a lifesaver. My ancient camera only has an OVF, and if I can't get my face in the right spot then I just have to shoot blind and hope for the best.
@@aku343 The back screen makes it harder to hold the camera steady, and doesn't work well in strong light.
I think what I'm afraid of for the R3 and the R1 when it's announced is that it will go back to the days of the EOS 1D and 1Ds when you had a speed camera and a resolution camera. Will the R1 be a best of all worlds or will it let the R3 focus on sports and action while the R1 is a 100mp resolution monster?
Out of the the R3 is the only one I would not even consider. It is not a bad camera but the R5 is very close and has more resolution.
I shoot birds and I can tell you, next to no one has even mentioned the R3 for all these months. The main reason is it is way too low res for birding. If we are talking about Canon, the R5 is an excellent camera for the money. But, I am sure the R1 will be in a different league.
R3 is a let down any one who says otherwise is just a canon fanboy
I think the Canon R1 will be a combination of R5, R5c, and R3 the same way A1 is a combination of A7s3, A7r4, and A9ii. My prediction is $7999
@@Rascallucci People have been happy with the 1Dx series for a while.
As always, a brilliant video guys. You were very balanced and neutral throughout, showing the pluses and minuses of each system. I'm sure there is absolutely nothing in this video that fans of certain individual brands will be able to take issue with in the comments.
So is there a significant edge to the Canon for low light performance? I didn't hear that mentioned.
Nowadays all these top mirrorless cameras are awesome. It all depends on the photographer.
Great review. Thank you for making this comprehensive side by side comparison.
Great video. Many Thanks. Love to see a comparsion between the Nikon Z9 and the old Nikon DSLR D5 or D6 on the AF-C tracking front. Value for money is the key for me as an action photographer. 12fps is more than enough for me. 7,000 photos per event is already too much. Doubling it by treating the camera as a German MG2 machine gun is not the way forward. Accuracy is far more important to achieve an optimum workflow.
Super video and great format.
Nikon won for AF and Video!!! 🤯❤🙌 Whaaaaaaaaaaaa...
Just hope Nikon puts the swivel screen and expeed 7 in the Z8/Z6 III. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Not if the cost is a mini HDMI port or sacrificing some of their connections for it like Canon did.
What's the story behind shooting this video on the Sony FX3? Are you switching from the GH5 or just trying something different? Great video by the way.

I got it 10 years ago in Singapore when travelling in SE Asia. I use it in cities and crowds and don't worry about pickpocketing because it only opens in the back. Other uses are horseback riding, hiking, carry-on bag, it fits in my pelican air so works while boating and guiding from shore to sea. They don't make it anymore and moved to more compartments, larger backpacks and side/back access with that series.
No one mentions that Nikon shoots at 14bit raw at 20. And the viewfinder is way brighter on z9
Why would you mention 14bit at 20, when all three cameras can do that (fact for the A1, reasonably sure for the R3)? Regarding the EVF brightness, I shoot mostly on sunny days (keeps the shutter speed fast and ISO low) and have never wanted the A1 finder to be any brighter. Maybe you don't know it's brightness can be configured?
@@daran0815 I shoot with both my eye open and it's amazing for that kind of shooting when it's bright out. I'm saying if Nikon wwntied to they could just drop it down to 12bit and they would get 30fps

r3 is better for video than A1? I call bullshit on that. crop mode alone should tip the scale.
The A1 also gains a lot of video ground if you're willing to pair it with an Atomos Ninja.
the r3 not only better but much better, 4K with downsapling as well at 60fps the a1 only downsaples in apsc, then the a1 has an indecent bitrate, the r3 has the internal raw and there are a thousand other things, the a1 is not bad for having 50mpx, however, the r3 is much better
The r3 is much better for video what are you smoking
@@lorenzopreiti barely anyone cares about raw and those who do use monitors. also nobody cares about 1880mbs bit rates that eat your cards like there's no tomorrow only to be later compressed it down to 40mbps and published on youtube. Slog 3 is superior to clog3. Crop mode gives two focal lengths with not a huge difference in quality. 8k for fun and crop is available. FHD at 240 fps. Smaller, lighter, proper HDMI port. More lenses to choose from. overall the a1 is more balanced and complete, the R3 might be more powerful in fringe situations. thats ignoring the photography aspect.
Personally when it comes to video I actually prefer the a1, the smaller body makes it easier to rig, and it’s 4K recording while softer has a stop better dynamic range over its 8k option*. And it has insanely good rolling shutter performance. Both of the specs to me are far more important then the oversampled 4K. Especially if you trying to do some more ““cinematic”” since rolling shutter performance and dynamic are critical to trying to make it look less “like video”. Plus you can always shoot 8k and do the oversampling it post with even more options available as far as creating 4K deliverables in 4K. (though of course the z9 can do this as well.) The photo advantage from the a1 comes with the mechanical shutter and the anti flicker options, I really hope the z9 adds in more of these flicker functions in firmware updates, since I would really hate for people to get heavily banded shots. Still it’s extremely cool to see such highly speced out and similar cameras, each of them could be fairly labeled as a flagship model and true hybrid in my opinion. * this lab test shows that the z9 is not properly down sampling at 4K and thus does not get a large dynamic range boost, however you still are stuck with a rolling shutter of 14 ms versus the A1’s 8.5ms. It also had a quote from Nikon Japan regarding the prioritizing of resolution in that mode. www.cined.com/nikon-z-9-lab-test-rolling-shutter-dynamic-range-and-latitude-test/
Enjoyable and funny video. Thanks for making it!
One thing you missed which is important to me is shooting in low light with high ISO what does the noise look like with all three cameras at the same settings.
In their review, DPReview spends a good amount of time talking about how great the z9 viewfinder is in spite of the specs and how in use it was as good or better than anything else. I guess they forgot about this…
The person that was giving her perspective on the Z9 was from the camera store as a guest and not from DPReview.
Despite it not being as high resolution (even though it’s still way high resolution for such a small screen), the EVF is like three times brighter than any other EVF you can get. This will make it way nicer to use rather than a dimmer higher res screen.
Having been a fan of both DPR and TCS youtube channels for a long time, not once has it occured to me that Jordan and Evelyn are married.
Now that you've done the flagship comparison, what about a PT boat comparison? What camera in each brand would be the best entry point for a companion to these behemoths? Compare those guys?
Can someone with firmware 1.20 and an R3 do a photo burst test for me? I'd like to know what the bit-depth of the raw images are when shooting at 195fps? With the previous firmware the 30fps burst was 14-bit. Also the buffer was only able to handle 150 images. I wonder where the compromise is.
I didn't know the A1 didn't have oversampled 4K.. seems like a big miss for such an expensive camera.
Too many misses from Sony A1. I used to own everything Sony but then realize they cut a lot of corners. I mean what good is 240hz EVF when it drops to what 60hz when you are actually shooting?? To me that's BS. And the BS 30fps raw advertisement when its only lossy raw. I had a Sony smartphone that was the first 4k screen smartphone. Guess what, it only does 4K when viewing pictures. The rest of the time it's 1080p and there is no option to change it.
Not downsampling is how they managed to keep the camera from overheating.
@@mlai2546 What on earth are you shooting that lossy isn't good enough for bursts? The A1 has the fastest AF with the only high rez 30fps RAW. For birding (what I shoot) it is ahead of the other two. It may be matched when shooting cars, if that is your thing...
@@mlai2546 Sony philosophy that every camera should be small, is backfiring for them. I mean they could have done a little bit bigger without even being as big as the two others, so as to ensure proper cooling, result there flagship camera which should be flawless in the field overheats.
@@mlai2546 lossy raw and 12bit
As all the Canon fans kept pointing out, isn't the R3 technically not their flagship? The vaporware R1 is somewhere out on the horizon?
It looks like a flagship and is priced like a flagship. I almost get the feeling that Canon changed the name of it from R1 to R3 after Sony launched the A1.
@@thisisbenji90 Canon had an EOS 3 when the EOS 1 was king. I haven't seen any kind of announcement, but Canon people do talk about an R1.
@@oneeyedphotographer I just know the entire lead up to the R3 it was rumored as the R1 then it dropped as the R3 and people started talking about the R1 immediately like the R3 was some sort of prosumer camera…. But at $5,999 I’m not buying that it wasn’t aimed as a flagship.
@@thisisbenji90 To landscape photographers, the 5DsR was the flagship for a time. 50 megapixels when nobody else came close.
@@oneeyedphotographer idk why a landscape photographer would even bother over any of these against a R5, A7Riv, Z7ii , or GFX.
Z9 all day! Currently the best selling mirrorless cam!!
Great comparison you guys. Now if my store here in Victoria can get 3 more Nikon Z9's in stock I can finally get it in my hands. I'm third on the list.
After watching this, I realize that my Sony A7R3 is an absolutely fantastic camera and I don't need to update my camera. I've shot wildlife, sports, music festivals, etc with this camera, including full studio photography, etc. It is an all-around great camera. So glad I got it now.
Love my A7RIII as well, but I do want the newer autofocus of the Z9 or A1
@@RichardoBrit ana7 r4 has many improvements and costs way less. Not sure why you would spend the 6000dolars euros for the others give. Your current choice of camera
@@axelfiraxa 20/30 fps without lag worths 3k, needles to mention the video and autofocus advantage.
Just once try the Nikon camera and compare the Color’s coming out of the raw files straight off the camera… you will see the difference
@@axelfiraxa oh I wouldn’t get the A1 - the price is crazy. Next generation A9 or A7R would be the way to go for me
After listening to it I am really happy that I use moder DSLR (K-3 Mk III) with real OVF, enough GPS to shot what I need to shot and nice sensor giving me enough IQ for A2 sized prints. It is not that much bigger and heavier then A1 and with 55-300 PLM lens I dare you to find lighter setup for full frame. And on top I saved lots of money compared to those three :P Mirrorless suck. OK, it lacks video capability but if I wanted to make video I would buy video camera not photo camera with video function.
Hi, if you had to review these 3 flagship cameras today, how would the ratings be different?
You have to do more of these. Like the pseudo competition format. Always a fan of Evelyn.
