That's the whole performance, simmering under the surface, is someone who is desperately addicted to cocaine and barely eats. Her dissatisfaction with Frank and then Tony is all tied to that-- she's actually miserable and on the verge of panic more or less the whole time she's on screen. Masterclass in acting.
