I love this fight scene, I love how the protagonist doesn't go unharmed from it and actually does get hit quite a lot, not like 90% of action movies where the hero takes down 20 guys with his bare fists and just goes out of the fight without any injury
I think you'd like the original Oldboy movie, brilliant action with lasting consequences and fatigue. The American version completely missed all that and made the main character invincible.
@@SMthegamer1 That hallway fight with the hammer is a brutal classic. In case you have not watched the shows. I'd suggest you watch the hallway fight scenes from Daredevil seasons one and two, as well as the prison fight from Punisher. All three are amazingly well choreographed, especially the scenes from Daredevil feature an amazing camera work and all are definitely heavily inspired by Old Boy. Sigh, and american remakes of asian or european movies usually are quite bad and usually completely miss the point. Also, the american audience seems to be somewhat different in what you can present to them and what not. I don't know if you have watched the french movie 'Le Grand Bleu' / 'The Big Blue', but they actually had to film a very different 'guy gets the woman and all are happy' ending, which completely changes tone and proposition of the whole movie. I admit it, I am a sucker for happy endings, but this was _bad._
90% Of action movies where the hero takes down 20 guys with his bare fists and gets away without injury? Other than Steven Seagall movies, that shit doesn't happen anymore. Well, maybe in feminist films. I haven't seen shit like that in male lead action movies in decades though. I actually didn't like how many punches to the face the protagonist took in this film. It's rather get fucked up ..than girl being harassed by such Evil men
This is an incredible movie. The fact that the main hero isn't invincible and is actually in danger makes it even better
At first ;) He becomes invincible during the movie.
@@notsureiL at first he was heating up
Making it real make a better film, problem with real life that hero with die on the spot
dude haha
This is a movie, huh thought I'd was a series
I can’t wait for the sequel!!!!!
This man started his career as a comedy writer.
The look they had on their faces when he came back on the bus after being thrown out, was pure joy. I mean from my view point.
Because nobody, even a winner would have walked away. These guys realized this isn't over.
I just saw fear in their eyes 💀
@@unearthly_sigma1289 Adding that Saul was also in bad shape, so the fact that he's making his comeback meaning he's willing to fight to the death. It's that kind of insanity that made them shitting their pants.
@@tomarnold7284 calling bob saul even when he's not playing saul just shows how iconic saul is of a character and how well bob is able to play him
I love the fact he actually smiles when they think "The old mans crazy"-then he drops them into a world of pain and probably months in hospital... Also, the "Stop Requested" sign flashing over and over when he's using the cord to strangle the thug.
Love how the hero of this scene is shown to have weakness like rustiness in his fighting skills and getting stabbed and thrown off the bus only to come back on again and really kick some ass. This was one of the most gratifying fight scenes I've seen in a long time. Even more gratifying than the John Wick fight scenes. This guy is a suburbanite veteran, ex special forces in dormancy.
tracheostomy 😂 ahaha
even normal people need a way to vent themselves
Well said! Ex-special forces in dormancy exactly.
After such hits he'd be in no state to fight: he is no superman or whatsoever. All he could possibly hope for -- laying "final" hits at beginning of the fighting. Taking them by surprise. So realistic outcome would be failing miserably, get beatten to pulp so girl escaped meanwhile. There is no comebacks for old men: rusty skills or not -- biology is bitter bitch.
@@4greaterevil it's not who's in the fight, it's the fight in the person, it's a hard call though, being out numbered is definitely going to test anyone...
This was a pretty cool fight scene. It is well choreographed and makes Saul look like a bad mudder
i love that bob odenkirk made it to this level from Mr. Show
I gotta say, this was one of the few fight scenes i physically recoiled. You just felt the massive amount of pain those moves caused them
Agreed. Not like other movies where everyone just gettinng sweep into another dimension with slight punch
did you saw Atomic blonde ? see that , it has good fights there
You should check the atomic blonde fight scene, it's... raw
Sick.
Some orthopedic surgeon just put his kids through grad school with this scene.
absolutely love how he starts smiling when they start harassing the woman. finally he has an excuse to let loose and absolutely destroy them
