  • Adam Driver can carry an entire movie by himself. The guy is an incredible talent. Just his presence on screen is already powerful. He can be terrifying one moment, and then switch into song and dance, and then have an incredibly realistic emotional breakdown, and then dive into intense dramatic dialogue and break your heart with his delivery and nuance. He's also fantastic at performing "still scenes" and acting without words. He can pull off the brave heroic protagonist role, or be a suave intelligent character. The range in him as an actor is completely ridiculous. Spike lee was even saying how great Adam Driver was after they worked together. I'll watch anything he's in at this point. He was absolutely incredible in this role. The guy was pouring his heart out in some of those scenes and he knows how to turn the dial up gradually and do the "high wire act"

They decided against lawyers (like what was the plan in the beginning for this movie) which made things easier for them. They broke up, but weren't in a hurry to get away from each other as they arranged what would be best. I didn't want to ask too much, as it did feel weird asking about it, but I'm glad they did it this way instead of how the characters in the movie dealt with it.

  • Brilliant movie. So detailed. The scene with the big tile hallway where the their lawyers meet is the real Family Court hallway in LA at the Stanley Mosk Court In Downtown LA. This movie is special to so many people who understand the nuances of divorce. Especially if you are a out of state parent doing everything you can to make sure the child’s best interests are priority. It’s the first time I’ve seen the Archetype of a broken family portrayed correctly. The discussion is no longer an island, which is exciting because this kind of subject matter assumes a shared experience. The pressure takes people out but nobody until now has delivered performances that convey the autonomy between the viewer and the production. This happens when a personal truth becomes a universal truth. Can’t argue your way back to fully personal. The best part is the honest experience with a hidden in plain sight archetype, is the way It changes our perception. It made you feel connected and not isolated. So thank you for starting a new conversation and perception to the consequences and actions of divorce or separation with a child in the middle. That the beauty and celebration of love cannot be destroyed in court and ultimately we can reform the courts to a healthier outcome for the child. Literally this movie did that. Watch it. It’s the best movie in years honestly. P.S all while celebrating the beauty of marriage. Every base covered.

    • Andrew Deliganis This movie cut me. I acted during my divorce just like Scarlet’s character did and even got a lawyer without telling him while he thought we would do anything ourselves and that lawyer ended but being brutal and ratcheting everything up and during the court hearing I felt so much shame. I saw this movie from Charlie’s point of view and by extension from my still-friendly ex-husband’s point of view. I barely deserve Mark’s friendship even. I felt so much for Charlie. There were 3 kids involved. I and my high priced lawyer got the custody I wanted. I ‘WON’’. I will regret my decisions till the day that I die.

    • The Real Deal that is so rough and you can always change things but yeah this movie was a wake up call and scary real how parallel this is to my life not to be narcissistic. It just said so many things nobody has said so clearly from a Father’s point of view

  • The acting was superb and so was the writing. It's not a movie I'm keen on seeing again, however. I really liked how Noah portrayed the way a man and woman think about their dissolution. Adam's character felt very real to me and how he justified his actions to his wife is something straight out of reality. I think the time spent honing the script and getting feedback from key players, including Greta Gerwig paid off big time.

  • ALRIGHTTT!!! I love Adams performance in this movie he is so natural, he always fits so good in his characters, I probably would be able to appreciate his permanence better but I really can't tell much about the story of a divorce...🤷🏻‍♀️ kudos to him for one more amazing performance!!!! love him

If you are bringing other movies from different channels over, please do your best to expand your library so you can fit more t.v. shows and movies in for us to watch. :)

  • "physical" "madcap" Is theatre dead? Because it's all theatre baby! Almost all of the classics have this energy in the scenes because actors don't forget to use their entire body and directors don't navel gaze into the singularity of the protagonist. Man I love Baumbach. And Driver's performance was soul crushing. Bravo!
