When she ties his shoe for him at the end, that was a such a beautiful moment in a film full of so many beautiful moments.
Carrywater oh shit it was. And when Charlie was reading the note (therapist note) with Henry it broke my heart. Charlie could’ve compromised. She already did... it would’ve been a great love story ending but seriously the scene where they didn’t end up together was way more better. This film portrayed the rawness of a divorce.

The argument scene close to the end was so intense i felt like i was watching my parents argue I was literally like "should I leave"
That's got to be the worst part. Poor Henry having to reconcile that eventually. This film was kinda the otherside of the coin with regards to The Squid and the Whale.

people keep forgeting her voice work in Her. it was a beatiful role that she played really good. her voice fit perfectly.
This movie was so heart wrenching and felt so realistic as if I was their child being an audience to their marriage ending.

The fact that she refused to share the letter she wrote about him from the first part of this movie, just because she said she hated what she wrote. Turns out, it's the opposite of what's really in the letter. She's expressing and telling how she really feels about him, and what's he like, and why she fell in love with him. And how He found out and read the letter at the last part of the movie, is just heartwarming yet most heartbreaking part of this movie. I'm 22 yrs old, and I love this movie. It's just real.
For me personally, that scene with Nicole presenting herself to Nora was the best (the argument scene is a very close second). That intro scene absolutely blew me away. The range of emotions that Scarlett presents and the way she starts slowly but increasingly gains confidence in letting out what's on her mind while trying to be polite and mindful and taking pauses to comment on the tea and cookies was just absolutely brilliant!

Wasn’t sure about this movie, then about half way in it really grabbed me. It crept up on me in a quiet way, I really enjoyed it.

This was my favorite ScarJo film because it felt like the least sexualized role she'd ever been in. The way the film was directed allowed her pure emotional range and skills to come through the most.

Worst place to say this. My parents never got married; they still argued a lot. Mostly verbal abuse. This movie brought me back to the days. Those days are part of what made me what and who I am. Amazing performance from the both of them. Can’t wait to never get married over the fear of hurting my significant other. (Also that “invisible man” costume was awesome)

I really liked this movie, but I didn't like the swearing especially to the child. It made me feel things and it definitely made me cry and be reflective considering it has been over a year since my own divorce.

Ehh, I think her voice over in Her was a much better role she played but she still was excellent in this movie.
Everyone saying that both characters were very honest and transparent. But wasn't Scarlett's character more dishonest. They decide to do it without getting lawyers involved, but she hires a lawyer. She visits many other lawyer's offices so that the husband could not hire them. Has casual sex herself despite hating husband for him having sex once.
But whatever the script, Scarlet played her part very very well.
@@Clouddancer44 Charlie had his faults - he cheated on Nicole, and was kind of blind to her complaints and requests. But Nicole was manipulative and a bit of a hypocrite when it came to some stuff. A lot of the shitty stuff she did was at the recommendation of her lawyer, though, who sucked. At the end, they both had faults, and both Adam and Scarlett gave AWESOME performances. We can agree on that 😉
