Defending Top Fuel world champion Doug Kalitta enjoyed his second straight No. 1 qualifier, cementing the top spot on Saturday at zMAX Dragway at the 14th annual NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte.
John Force (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also qualified No. 1 at the fifth of 20 races during the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

No doubt there are forces at play here that most of us aren't aware of, but I have drag raced since 1962 and have observed many changes in NHRA drag racing. So, here I go. First, eliminate four wide. It's unwatchable live and even worse on fs1 .2. Pro stock cars don't even look like a hot rod. 3. As someone else mentioned, TF and FC have simply becoming a spec class. If there is anything new it so small and hidden that it can't be seen. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a fuel altered class at a US Nationals? As to the fs1 broadcast, instead of endless interviews or Pedregon saying for the tenth million time about slow reaction times or loosing traction, how about showing some comp classes or at least high lights of all the other classes? It's so bad I just record the show so I can fast forward thru the white noise. Oh well , a guy can but dream.

NHRA rules making TF and FC spec classes is ruining the innovation and engineering that created the classes. Crew chiefs can’t experiment or innovate anymore. God forbid if they clean up burrs or imperfections in manifold ports. Think of how stupid that sounds from an Association that still claims to be about Hot Rods. You know what Garlits would have told the tech guys if they confiscated his intake manifold because the anodize faded.

OK, I am going out on a limb here and I know I can't be the only one thinking this but has anyone noticed how Brittany's performances has gone down ever since she started dating her man? Not saying she should not date but maybe they need to see how to get focused again while dating this dude. Maybe that isn't it at all but the timing sure makes it look that way.
They must have watched Nascar ruin it's self and joined in!!!
