Palmer Johnson Rolls Out Largest Yacht Yet

Bob Dohr was on the scene early Friday morning as workers at Palmer Johnson Yachts in Sturgeon Bay transferred the largest yacht they've ever constructed (210 feet) just down the street to Bay Shipbuilding Company to be put in the water.

60,000 gallons of fuel. Imagine writing a check for a quarter million dollars to fill up your gas tank. Those gas stations must have a pipeline connection because filling this thing up would require 6 large tanker trucks worth of fuel.

While his entire country and pretty much that entire part of the world is in poverty and living in mud huts, the jackass owner of azzam is fithly stinking rich. Doesn't his like 3rd son live in a 1700 bedroom palace? We are not paying $4-$5 a gallon to help support there economy, but to help build the UAE's rich rulers "toys" and palaces. If they charged just 2 dollars a gallon they would still be Multi-billionaires... It's ridiculous that the nations of the world allow them to grossly overcharge them for crude oil... Anyway! that's my rant for the month lol. And I am proud to see this beaty was made in the USA!

Put it this way, the poorest Emaratis are waaaay better of than the poorest Americans. Say what you say about Saudia Arabia, for example, but not UAE. I wonder how long it takes to sail out of Sturgeon Bay. Having to go through all of those states and Canada just to get out into open sea.
PJ is know worldwide for its craftsmanship. This yacht was a boon to the city of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. With Palmer Johnson, Burger Boats and Cruisers, Wisconsin has some of the finest yacht builders in the world.

It’s not American anymore. The company moved to Europe. Americans can’t deliver what Europeans can. Company spokesman said that German and Dutch workers are more skilled in modern technologies like carbon composite materials. The company is located in Holland now and flourishes as never before. This was the last US yacht shipbuilder that closes it doors. Also Trinity Yachts closed it’s doors. America really need some skilled workers that can work with modern materials and technologies. Also Boeing gets hit because of that issue and Tesla schedules a new factories in Germany and China. So, America first? Nope, maybe 20 years ago. It’s running far behind now. The world is evolving and the US is at a standstill because they are blinded by governmental foolishness. When you want to protect your own market, you are actually selling your companies to the rest of the world. It’s a sad story

So sad that Palmer Johnson is closing. The result of higher regulation cost and taxes made if incredibly difficult for them to compete overseas. Wish them the best of luck and may someone else take up the supersport design. Love it

Actually they're relocating to the Netherlands, like so many other companies when liberals are in charge. Many yachts are not available for purchase here in the US. Because of extreme over regulations imposed by liberal Democrats. @ Brick Actually the US has only one Yacht builder for really big yachts, Christensen. And a lot of smaller outfits like Burger, Sunseeker, Friendship and Trinity. Who make big boats but not near as big. Most U.S. builders build smaller yachts, companies like Sea Ray, Mastercraft, Johnson and Starcraft. The really big yachts, and the best renown come from Europe, Feadship, Oceanco, Heesen, and Amels in the Netherlands, Blohm and Voss, and Lurssen in Germany, Benetti in Italy etc.
B.S.! They are closing because of a lack of quality subcontractors and suppliers(because these companies cannot find skilled workers). If a company has to import up to 90% of the parts they need to build a yacht from Europe, it’s a wise decision to move closer to your suppliers. All the big players are located in Europe. So are are the suppliers. Trump won’t change anything about that.

palmer johnson is famous for style and sleekness not efficiency and accommodation. for example, a yacht this size would usually have around 4 stories on top of the main deck, this only have 2.
