  • I used to watch Ben all the time. But there are two points I cannot get past. 1) He calls Ron Paul racist. And it seems he thinks that because Ron doesn't want to go to war and send endless foreign aide across the world. 2) He seems to say/suggest that it's anti-semitic to not send money to Israel. Those two points of his make no sense to me.

    • Because those are the old GOP positions that Ben Shapiro is hanging onto. He's trying to make it that again. The Israel lobby is behind this while at the same time paying people like Tom McClintock and other GOP in both chambers of Congress to sandbag efforts to hold Alejandro Mayorkas accountable. Because Mayorkas is one of them. Or don't you find it odd that "joos" on the right and left are doing completely opposite things yet never seem to truly condemn each other? The ones on the left want open borders welfare states while the ones on the right want us dumping money abroad and fighting foreign wars which we increasingly cannot win. Almost like it's to tear us apart economically, by design.

    • How would you get the Japanese to surrender? There were a minority of civilian ministers that wanted to surrender but the military did not. The latter would simply ignore whatever decision the ministers would reach, as they had been since the 1930s. Aside from the nuclear bombs you have two options. Blockade Japan until they surrender. This would last for a year, maybe a few months less, and result in millions of people starving to death. Option 2 is a land invasion of the Japanese home islands. The allies conservative estimates put the number of casualties at 8 million Japanese and 500k allied, mostly American and British. The U.S. made so many purple hearts in preparation for an invasion that they are still being issued to this day. Germany fought until most of their cities were heaps of rubble and only surrendered after their capitol was destroyed and Hitler killed himself. The Japanese military was training high schoolers to fight with spears, swords, bows and arrows and even freaking muskets. Children were being trained to hide grenades under their clothes and detonate them when they got close to allied soldiers. Kamikaze planes and boats were expected to sink or badly dozens of ships in suicide attacks. One Japanese general stated he would rather see Japan sink in to the than surrender. The Soviet invasion of Manchuria did not cause the Japanese to want to surrender. It caused the generals to move most of the remaining units still able to fight to the west and and south of the country, not that the Soviets could even launch an amphibious operation on the scale needed in the first place. The bombs AND the Soviet Invasion convinced the Emperor to finally step in. And even after he made clear he planned to surrender several Army commanders launched a coup to prevent the Emperor from reading out the call to surrender.

This is the same reason why terrorist organizations call for the death of America and all American citizens. They use the same reasoning you do. example: Everyone is forgetting what America did to the middle east and their neighbors. War is evil. And America showed that first..... (all i did was use America and the middle east in an example with the exact sentence you used and that's what those terrorist organizations use as their reasoning). It doesn't justify it if you think it does then you now have a never ending cycle of revenge both sides thinking they are 100% justified in their actions.

No one is cheering the dropping of the nuclear bombs in Japan or saying it was good(except maybe the countries Japan terrorized before and during WWII). It was the option between a swift stroke or a long, bloody campaign that would have cost many, many more lives on both sides. Comparing it to the Hamas attack on Israel was just grotesque. Saying America has always been corrupt and is the most corrupt country in the world now is just eye rolling. Yes, there have always been and will always be corrupt people here. You're comparing us to North Korea, China, Cuba, the DPRC, Ukraine, Russia, the absolute crap fest that's going on in Europe where people are arrested for mean posts on social media? 🙄 Also, regarding slavery, there have been people in the US from the beginning that wanted to do away with it. Unfortunately, to get rid of it, there would have had to be unanimous consent from all states, which was obviously not going to happen. It was either get rid of slavery, or have a country that 90 years into its history got rid of slavery. Name one other country that has done that so quickly. Every country has problems and horrible things in its past. Focusing on them gets us nowhere. Let's focus on fixing the issues we have now.

When a person / country is wronged, acting in the same manner indefinitely... is not justified either. Its one thing to 'defend oneself' or to 'defend one's country' as required. However when revenge and brutality becomes adopted to no end... it just turns those who were once victims into hateful hypocrites themselves. At this point, Ben has lost all maturity, self-honestly, introspection and self-reflection. • The total population of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, before the bombs were dropped was about 450 thousand, with 300 thousand killed that's 2 3rds of the population. So that 300 ,000 number would have to be pretty close. If it was much higher the cities could have never recovered. Population. Now 1.2 million 500,000 and by the time they dropped the bombs 450,000 Americans were sent home in body bags, so mercy wasn't on their minds.

  • Tucker is wrong about this one…the other option to the end the war was landfall followed by a slow, brutal and long march up to Tokyo that would’ve taken many months (maybe even a couple of years) and cost tens of thousands of lives on the Allied side (not to mention off all of the ones on the Japanese side). The Japanese were not going to surrender and the consensus was that they needed to be forced into submission. I also think in the background that although they were allies in defeating Germany the west (US and UK) were aware of the potential threat of the USSR and didn’t want to get further sidetracked Also I don’t like the way he’s saying all of this…it’s almost as if he’s absolving the Japanese of all their horrific war crimes (you can google those). They weren’t good guys by any stretch… One of the things that annoys me is when the left go back and try to rewrite history…so I’m not going to entertain any bit of this from the right.

    • @@jamesmason1347Found the Russian bot conservative without any rebuttal. How would you get the Japanese to surrender?

  • Tucker is wrong on this one. In a time of war you take the other guy out before he takes you out. Japan would have fought to the last man if we would have invaded. That would have cost Millions of American lives. Japan was warned multiple times but chose to ignore those warnings. The blood of their people is on their hands. War is inherently horrible and evil, WWII was brought out by the Elitism of Britain and France in the Treaty of Versailles, which basically ignored Japan and Italy as allies in WWI, thus alienating them and turning them into future allies of Nazi Germany.

    • thats not what he was saying ....sure i believe you are right and agree with you on what you said about japan fighting till the last man causing a lot more American deaths however i think what he was trying to say maybe could have done a better job is that no matter what the reason is dropping that bomb on civilians or really on anyone has to be a evil act because how can you justify that . A moral person is not going to resort to evil acts just to fight a evil because then what are you fighting for if your no better than your enemy. Evil is evil there is no degree even when it is for the better good doesn't make it ultimately good. Nobody should want to drop nukes on anyone. Think of it like this ..would God agree with doing such a act? Of course not at least not the one that i believe in..so if he is all thats good and wouldn't see that as equally as good then by definition its evil
