It doesn't really change anything the punch is still pretty fast, but that's why the glove just disappears for a frame and reappears much further. His arm also glitches out a little bit. It's really weird looking. Like I said before though it doesn't really change anything, probably just an issue during the editing process.

Also, the best options available are kinda logical in specific situations, and certain reactions are typical...so you can kinda anticipate in advance what's coming most of the time. And so can your opponent. E.g. In the video, where he evades a punch by leaning back, he starts blocking the low kick in advance. He didn't react, he anticipated the low kick in advance. Perhaps that combo is something typical in Muay Thai? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • WTF?! That play at 2:18! Absorbs the lazy hook which sends him off balance on his left foot, uses that momentum to land a right roundhouse right under his armpit which the other fighter tries to catch. Still using the momentum from his lost balance, he propels himself back towards the ropes where it's easier to maintain balance and which allows him to turn his foot vertical in order to pull it out from the other fighter's hold. Either through sheer monster-like reflexes or experience, he ducks low just in time to dodge the other fighter's roundhouse kick. He comes back foiling another follow-up attack by the other fighter to the head. This alone, shows his insane reflexes, the work that he's put in, and spacial awareness. Amazing!

    • I actually don't know a whole lot about Muay Thai, but I have heard that many of these guys will have hundreds of fights over the course of a career that often started in childhood. Can't imagine that they'd last so long wading in and trading blasts with someone. Sounds like you're doing something right👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  • This is natural talent. This was what made Samart so beloved; his amazing reflexes and good "eyes" in the ring. I think Giorgio Petrosyan represents the Mayweather of kick fighting sports. He has natural intuition and defensive genius mind and defensive responsibility. I think it's more accurate to say Lerdsila is the Pernell Whitaker of kick fighting (and in my opinion maybe better than Pernell in his respective western boxing trade). He can stay in the pocket and just evade everything based off of his natural reflexes.
