You need to have a video of using all of these inventions in like a showcase. See how far you guys have come though out the years.
so true
They need an actual Stark Expo
say less
Throughout
pretty sure that had one couple years back b4 they moved out of the garage, obviously need a new one tho
"Any sufficiently expensive technology is indistinguishable from magic" What a way to turn that quote around holy heck
I think at this point you have the core hardware, you now might want to look into some kind of throttle controller that maintains the hydrofoil at a certain speed so you dont have to pulse the motor to keep it at the right height.
This! Would be rad to see a fallow up with this implemented
I think a motherboard to automatically accelerate every second or so would be better. I don't think it's the speed that kept him upright, but rather the periodic accelerations (and now I'm repeating myself). It's like a rally car upshifting midair to keep the nose up during a jump
Came here to suggest putting Ardupilot on it. The control loop would be a cinch.
That's where PID controllers are made for
Throttle control is what makes foiling possible. You start at a slower motor speed and get the feeling for the angle you have to set the board/broom according to the speed of the motor. With just full throttle this will not work straight away. Nevertheless, it looks really nice and fun 🎉 Good work!
I could almost see this as becoming a new sport. Highly entertaining.
WATER QUIDDITCH (I probably misspelled that but still)
Seriously yes. Imagine having a flight controller on it that controls the stabilization vs having to jiggle the switch, with more freedom this could be super fun
We’d all love you to play real life quidditch!
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
people will die ahah its blade are sharp and i dont even talking about the spining blade@@dragonwolf3072
The Real magic in this video is Darryl pulling off that quidditch robe so well.
I could definitely see that efoil broom getting refined and turned into quidditch in real life
It would make those larp Quidditch cooler
Sounds dangerous a.f In other words: Quidditch in real life
I wish but e- foils are ridiculously dangerous for multiple people driving around each other
Yah 😅😅 let them turn this into a real product someone can buy some of us are already hooked
I'm not even surprised at this point, just in awe. You guys are insane. This is madness.
FINALLY. A HARRY POTTER VIDEO
Madness? No. THIS! IS!! SPARTA!!!!
In awe of what? Strapping a broom to an e-foil? Boring.
Madness and genius often comes along.
whats madness? this isnt ground breaking tech
As someone who’s been a massive Harry Potter fan since childhood, not only do these guys know their Harry Potter, seeing riding a broom become real blows my mind.
You also make hateful anti-trans sexist violent racist remarks on social media? Because jk rowling does.
@@conm9891 who cares i didn't even know who is jk rowling until now ... i am just a harry potter fan ... since my childhood ... ... l even don't want to know either ..... its like being a fan of john wick and don't know keanu reves is.... so yeah ...
@@conm9891She doesn't bro
@@ro0t115 you're gonna tell me you've been a Harry Potter fan your whole life but don't know who JK Rowling is? Cap.
@@StefanCreates why... I hv only watched Movies ... and don't even know who the f that director is... Is that wrong ? I don't know man 😅 It's crazy that people don't know that there are people in this world good at focus on their own intrest and not in others personal life.... Like you assumed for me that I know jk Rowling and whos that person is... It's just because I started reading books when I read her name as author then I got to know that jk Rowling wrote this amazing world that's it ... Just the name is enough.... I don't care and want to know who she is and if she used drugs while writing these stories... Lol...Fact that I am enjoying these stories are enough for me ...And I am thankful to her and I will read these stories to my future kid👍
Can't wait to see you guys all get lots of practice on this thing and 6 months from now be riding those like they're nothing!
Seeing how he kept having to pulse the throttle to keep at the right height, I think the next step would be to fine-tune the speed control to find the sweet spot and have that be the default speed.
I've gotten a taste and I want more. I just wanna see this concept get pushed as far a possible! Get to the point where it doesn't dip unless the rider wants it. Get to the point where you can maintain a steady speed, accelerate/decelerate, and turn easily. Get off without having to crash. Can you make it taller and is there a way to move up and down?
Oooo nice run at the end! Having to modulate the throttle to maintain level travel did give me an idea though; what if you incorporated a sensor that can increase/decrese throttle based on pitch. Once engaged, that might be able to automate throttle modulation and keep it above the water.
This was so sick! Well done, team! You've probs thought of it, but adding sensors and a controller to maintain the ideal 'lift' would be sick; Assisted riding - then you can safely smash some Quidditch! Love your content! Rad stuff, well produced.
This would actually be really neat - you could actually do things while flying on a broom 😃
I was highly suprised this wasnt done. A simply gyro sensor setup that adjusts throttle to maintain the broom being level fore/aft, with a cutoff switch with a wrist band key to prevent it running away like waverunners use.
First lightsabers, now flying brooms. Hacksmith is doing a revolution to technology. And yes, while this broom is on the same level of technicality as first lightsaber prototypes that Hacksmith did, there's still a room to improve.
And the coolest part is how these aren't scientists exposed to radiation or bitten by a spider but just a couple of very smart people
@@phoenixlewis I aspire to be like them, these people are actual geniuses
First thing they should do imo, is some kind of controller that modulates the power for the user, ensuring a reasonable angle of attack instead of an unstable wobbly mess doomed to fail. Or, I guess, simply adding ailerons to the fins would work too. Depends on whether they want to solve their issues through hardware or software. Hardware (ailerons) would definitely be the simplest, but also needs doing hardware instead of software - which I guess is right up the hacksmith's alley,
@@feha92 Honestly, I'm not a tech guy, I have no idea about mechanical stuff. All i can say is that they need to improve the controller. On the last attempt you could see that to make it go stable, the controller needed to be switched back and forth. They need to make a controller that would need to be turned on once and would give enough power to make it stable.
@@inspector_beyond Yeah that is what I were talking about. Either solve it in software (+ sensors) to make it so you can pick a speed/height (I assume those correlates) with the lever-input, or solve it in hardware by giving it ailerons (+sensors) that control the pitch (to get a consistent height, no matter speed - well, assuming it's fast enough to not just sink, of course).
Just needed an analog throttle, poor Darryl! Pleassse make a part 2!
Analog throttle please. 🙏💀
Watching the jerking hurts the soul 😢
or throttle with speed you want to go but gyroscope gives throttle to keep this thing level
I've always loved science lol. Keep up the good work 💪💪💪
Thank you! This keeps us creating!
This is great. The only suggestion I could have is to put the electronics inside of the broom tail and the controller built into the broom for a sleeker no backpack look
Would love to see a version 2 that’s easier to control and get some distance going. Where you can pass by some boats and get some reactions. Kind of like the Star Wars series you’ve done in the past; I would love to see more Harry Potter stuff
I'd absolutely love to fly around on a Broom, great job!!
It’s not just a broom. It’s the Hacksmith 3000!
This has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE style of videos you guys have ever done. Engineering, movie references, story telling, humor. I loooooove the restyling of these videos you guys are doing
The project isn't only impressive, the video is just really well done
I love the energy haha and cut. As well as the testing process. NIce work all!
Water quidditch could become a legit sport in the near future…
One man sailing boat foiling has a device at the bow, that has a float or ski with linkages to a hinged foil. The float would be set at the required altitude of the vessel while the foil is set at neutral flying the vessel. If the boat is too low, the float lifts, pulls the linkages, increases the angle of attack, boat rises. Opposite for too high. It is an automatic attitude finder. You could set the power and the device would do the adjustments to fly.
A bit surprised that you couldn't get the ESC to be regulated better instead of full power or no power.
Can’t wait to see you guys play a world’s first real life Quidditch game! All you need to do is mass produce these brooms and set the course up and use a drone as the snitch and presto!
"Any sufficiently expensive technology is indistinguishable from magic." One of the best quotes I heard this year.
Arthur C. Clarke knew what was up.
Definitely can't wait to see V2 of this with a smoother throttle controller! We need some of the magic that Bogdan put into the power loader 🤖🤖

I have an idea to make a more realistic Thores hammer. It'll work on any ground
How about you create real life Twisted Metal vehicles?!
What do you think of Sana, the world's best, bulletproof Batman suit?
hacksmith i challange you to make the cow mangler 5000 from team fortres 2.
Would you like to know how?
“Any sufficiently advanced technology, is indistinguishable from Magic.” Carl Sagan
It's an electric surfboard... It's not advanced and it's not complicated.
"Any sufficiently expensive technology, is indistinguishable from Magic'." The Hacksmith
Close! That is a quote from Arthur C Clarke. 😊
Ian just going in circles in the water killed me lol
A wise man once said :"Any sufficiently expensive technology is indistinguishable from magic"
Please keep doing projects like this that are entertaining. I always find motivation from these projects to keep moving forward.
That was amazing! I thought he was going to do a water jet pack style but this foil design is a great way to make it more viable or at least learn to balance
Next HP project: some way to play 2D quidditch. Meaining: - No flying, so bicicles or scooters should act as brooms. - Quaffle and goal marks work the same. - Snitch needs to have the magic worked out by tech. Maybe some small drone that can be hand-catched? - Bludgers need to have the magic worked out by tech. Maybe also some drones that can be bludged around and would chase players? 3D would required actually flying, which seems a bit off the table for now... :(
I'd love to see this project in full motion after good practice. Perhaps 10 minutes of flying and playing around with it. Additionally covering the yellow chargerbox in a nice texture, something that blends in better with the quidditch clothing.
Awesome! I love Harry Potter and creations and you combined those both! If your not already working on it I think a functional wand would be a great addition to the broom, anyways thanks for all that you are doing in the community and I can’t wait to see what crazy thing you build next!
How bloody cool is this!! Well done every involved - also, the editting and sound is top notch ✌️
"Hacksmith where we make the impossible, possible " *Buys something made by someone else and just swaps the seat*
Would love to see you guys make more of these... And then play a full on quidditch game against other creators and their takes on flying brooms.
What a great idea! Looks incredible! I'm sure you guys could automate the controls a bit to make it easier for anyone to ride, just imagine 🤩
Today's Fact: The first Overwatch character to be designed was Tracer, and her design was used to create the game's signature visual style.

Today’s fact: I want these guys to make Shadow the Hedgehog’s shoes!!!!
or it was inspiration from team fortress 2
Hacksmith is bringing the whole of Disney into real life
Your stamina and determination produced a fantastic result, congratulations to all of the team. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
One thing I wonder most is how long it takes these guys to get all these stuff together, from the idea formation to the video publishing
Would love to see more potter stuff!
So much fun watching the design and refinement process.
Bros boutta make the whole avengers💀
I’m always so excited when the Hacksmith drops a video- inspires me every time.
legit one on of the coolest things you've built. would love to see you after 200 hours of practace.
Definitely the best use of our boards we've seen! ⚡
What I learned from this is, there were probably a lot of major injuries from people learning to fly broomsticks in the air.
Now they built a flying broom from harry potter? They've upgraded from tech to magic (using tech)! I'm proud of them! 👏👏👏
This is very cool! Always love the really cool and unique gadgets you all make! Always waiting for the next video!
You guys need to make an episode of all of you playing quiditch, it would be fantastic!
The magic of high tech tool and credit card 😂
The struggle is real for us muggles 😩 But excellent work as always.
Very impressive accomplishment! And all those face plants into the water were highly entertaining!
“Your ancestors called it magic, but you call it science. I come from a land where they are one and the same.”
I really want to see a full game of quidditch on e-foils now. They don't have to be broomstick e-foils, just normal will do, I just really want to see them in a proper sport
You know how the lightsabers are slowly evolving from protosabers to handheld, cordless sabers? Well... I just have a feeling that inevitably, the great Hacksmiths will make it fly... out of water. Don't get me wrong - it might take a while. but aw man would that be amazing. PS: IAmAHarryPotterFanAndIAmSoExcitedThatThisVideoCameOutTodayThankYou!
Flies only on water 😢 But still an Iconic Design❤ Good Job and Kudos🎉
Now you’ll get to be a wizard and take a bath in a lake simultaneously.
This was my fave vid for a while, I know it was less creative from scratch but fun and I'm a massive harry potter fan, it looks cool and defo closest yo flying a broom I've seen to date. Well done the hacksmith team 👏
Im not a fan of harry potter but the Hacksmith always amazes me in how he makes projects that i thought were impossible irl
Same thing with me, hacksmith always amazes me
Well, I am because I remembered almost every line of the original Harry Potter movie series, especially "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!"
Ok now hear me out, What if you guys strap the jet engine to the back of the broom?
At 9:20 it looks like real freaking magic. As soon as the wood sled falls off, and that broom wants to take flight. It almost looked 'too good'. Almost got goose bumps there.
Broom? Yeah...Speeder bike from Return of the Jedi? Definitely.
Fantastic job as always y'all! The one problem I see is the motor controller - It's no wonder it was so hard to ride properly with only an on-off switch for speed control... If the motor can support variable speed, something like a paramotor throttle (hand grip with a lever) would make fine control *much* easier, and most likely make takeoff & riding much easier. I'd love to see this revisited with a whole water-based Quidditch match!
You have to make a leviathan axe with a compartment to hold liquid nitrogen so the blade freezes by its self
love the editing on this one, amazing work yall
Duuuuude you can totally do a whole Quiddich match but on water.
When the artificer competes with the wizard
The Harry Potter crew should’ve used this to film Quidditch matches
You should make a invisibility cloak next. That would be so cool.
Hacksmith industries in a year "We made a working magic wand that can levitate a house! The want is madd out of magnets and chewing gum"
I like how theres a whole other team working on this. They have grown so big now
I ride my unicycle to work every day, it isn't hard 😂
Definitely a favorite when it come to you guys' projects
The documentation of this project was on point!
Truly riding that broom with the swagger of an underaged wizard.
With this being possible, I believe with enough time and practice, this could become a legit sport. Water Quidditch
broom on foil board = "look I'm flying" 🤦🏻♂️
It looks like Buddy has zero confidence, looks terrified of that machine.
That’s cool! Now we need a tournament of quidditch on the water!
Interesting bit of historical context for the broomstick: some sources indicate that it was a euphemism for riding the Devil's joystick, as witches were said to trade sexual favors for their magic.
You should be able to make the stabilisation automatic with a sensor to control the throttle.
So instead of showing the process of making something like the normal videos, they went "Here's something already difficult to use and we made it even harder to use, here's us struggling to use it." I enjoyed it lol
This new style of video editing and story telling is really nice
Pretty sure that with a bit of software you could make this thing keep the right altitude for longer, like it's done in drones. Probably not that easy to do, but would be awesome to just hit full power and stay up in the air all the way.
I can't wait to see 14 of these trying to go around each other in a pond!
This seems like the type of thing Universal Studios Florida would buy off of you and have someone periodically fly about across a lake in the Harry Potter World.
Loved this idea! I hope to see more Harry Potter projects in the future
i could see squeeze trigger being useable in the handle of the broom, that would get some of the bulk from the switch out of the way and allow for more fine tuning of the speed
Yall literally need to do a Stark Expo, this is insane
If you used the space in the broom's head to store the power supply, and automated the manual throttling, would that improve the design?
Bro the old vine reference at the start took me back man
All they did was try to attach a broom to a already functioning E surfboard..and they still had a hard time at tht lol
What a fun project! I would have liked to see more of the design and build process, but it was still super entertaining. Thanks for sharing and well done! 🧡
At this point I have no words to say... beautiful work!😮
