The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

Apart from being a brilliant talent she says the right things too at this age Wow ! A new star is born 👏👏👏
Great acknowledgement of Virginia Wade, she flew the flag for women’s British tennis while I was growing up in the 70s, a true ambassador of the sport. Raducanu had her game face on today, long may it continue.
She’s so natural and lovable. Handles the after match speech like a veteran.
She makes us proud to be British: great talent, adorable, hugely likeable and a winning smile.
She isn't british tho
Very British.... I love her beautiful blue eyes and fat body
@@ejjsdhgxjdhhdhsh2339 She is British by nationality and grew up here, speaks with a British accent and is a UK permanent resident. Being born in a country doesn't make you of that nationality, it just gives you the right to a passport. I was born in India to UK parents but I'm no more Indian than Mr Bean. It's the culture that you are raised in and the country you choose to live in and identify with.
@@sugoidessho Yes, but she has also Romanian wisdom/education and smartness, her father being Romanian who moved to England when Emma was 2 years old (she comes many times each year to Bucharest, to visit her grandmother, to enjoy Romanian food, places etc.).

If she’s not going to be the next superstar of tennis then I’m trippin because she’s got a whole package! Talent, personality and looks! I normally don’t even watch tennis but I say this I’m a fan now! If she’s playing i’m watching!
I heard earlier that I think it was Tim Henman described Emma Raducanu as "Smiling Assassin" absolutely spot on!
She's got Henman's iron mentality, but also all the talent that he was just one notch short of.
Apropos. She is having fun!

What's scary is that she's winning-- but what's terrifying that she's absolutely steamrolling opponents. She's playing better than anyone right now.
To give her credit though it wasn’t easy. She was 2-0 down and 40-15 about to be broken twice so that was great stuff to come out of that and win the next 11 games.
Asked to compare herself to the two other 18 year olds that made the 2nd week, she said, "Everyone is on their own trajectory...."What a mature answer from an 18 year old - it would be from anyone really.
This is what I call humbling statements. She greatly acknowledge her apponent. For me you are already a.champ Emma. Hope you be d grand slam winner. Such an A class words😍
I hope she goes all the way. Young, energetic, excited about it, talented and cute to boot.
The big change she has made is that she is willing to follow her big shots to the net..she volleys very well..her power is without question but by coming forward she shuts down any defensive shots from the opponent.. Bencic is a smart player..it will be interesting to see how she defuses the power
It will be very interesting indeed. Bencic is a smart player as you say, but she can get rattled. Obviously she won Olympic Gold recently which might give her extra confidence or do the opposite - that is, put too much pressure on herself.
Wow, so happy for her, what a talent, can't wait to see how her career unfolds
It’s weird with Emma it’s like someone took some of the best bits of all the greats (apart from maybe Serena) and put them into one player. She has Ana and Li Na and Capriati like forehand, a Vika backhand, a Sharapova intensity, Simona’s athleticism and the charm of all of them put together when they were young. Apologies if I missed a few (Edit: and the mindset/doggedness of Murray)
Hingis tennis brain (not a fan of Hingis) but have to acknowledge that. Quick like Steffi G.
Emma's amazing smile is unique !
Whether she wins or not she is a crowd favourite and can wins the hearts of the tennis lovers.
This young lady is absolutely amazing to watch. The look on her face is just pure joy doing what she loves to do.
pure joy, totally agree.........
the winning smile! she is so talented. wish her to go all the way 👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
What an absolute champ!
A champion in the making on court but already a champion 👍👍during press interview with her eloquent replies 👏👏
What I can't believe is how hard she hits the ball for such a petite young woman the skies the limit for her
A Star is Born! A great tennis player and a lovely girl, knows exactly what to say and how to conduct herself, we are so proud of her.
She is So Adorable. Love Her Smile. 🥰
She is an absolute doll - and she's headed to the top of the women's charts.
she makes me smile the look of wonderment after winning the match , did I just win......
The delight is palpable and so engaging.
Not only she plays great and has a wonderful personality that smile is a real killer😍😍
The thing about her is she small in size but she knows exactly how to use her little frame to maximize her speed and power. Just look at how she hits some of her shots....she is naturally gifted.
She’s very athletic and strong and will probably keep getting stronger as she’s still 18 and she’s only just recently started playing at this level so that’s gonna make her fitter and stronger as well.
These 18 year olds are inspiration to a lot of teenager kids.
What a player, what a credit to her parents and to Britain.
Would love to see her give a champion’s speech at the exact spot in a few days time.
I think she would be smiling too much to give a speech........
U got your wish!
granted
Gosh she's a marketer's dream. Emma, Leylah and Carlos 😍
And no attitude, so far.
Radacanu has sharapova appeal. Could be the next ‘it’ girl for tennis. Or if not sharapova, Osaka minus the baggage. Sponsors will be lining up to sign this young woman.
Couldn’t agree more - she’s the @ full package “ - and that smile 😊
Hold on she does not win with drugs
I think she's more talented than Sharapova, minus that silly annoying squeal!
Osaka is overrated and waaaaay overpaid for who she is
@@nastya3678 Oh really? What evidence do you have for the British being cheats? Tim Henman? Are you serious? He never won a major, neither did the Brit/Canadian, Rusedski. Both were mediocre anyway so where exactly did their, according to you, "cheating" get them?
She is getting better every match, in the qualy she had closer matches than in the main draw!!! She lost 4 games in her last 2 matches!!!! That's crazy. She will now play the olympic champion and the hair of Suiss maestros Hingis and Federer. I think Belinda will win but I'm really exited for that match.

Both Emma and Leylah are natural speakers. She is not intimidated a bit in front of such a large crowd. Emma is not only a very talented player, but she is also humble and respectful with people. Unlike an ungrateful, selfish, and negative schizophrenia female player who just lost in an earlier round, both beautiful Emma and Leylah are the positive attractions for future tennis. Raducanu got the key! she will win over 4 grand slam single titles.
If she wasn’t a Brit I’d say without a doubt, but as a British tennis fan and sporadic player myself I must tell you that I’ve seen too many nearly men and women to be certain. She has definitely been media trained. In earlier interviews she seems much more relaxed and open, but it is almost like they are training the personality out of her during media interviews. She is probably taught to speak slowly and deliberately to avoid saying anything even slightly controversial, which is a shame, because she seems like a nice bubbly gal.
She was being a mix of professional and open. This is her first on court interview at the US Open talking to a whole stadium, she spoke very well.
Yeah, I thought the same.
