The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

Preference is given to diversity. I’m not make excuses. When I was at school in the z80 and 90s boys were ahead of the girls in exams. But they changed the system to more course work content. The Uk is social engineering on a huge scale. The disadvantaged white working class have been disadvantaged for too long yet there was no positive discrimination for this disadvantaged group. Ever. But now we have positive discrimination for everyone else. As for being patriots, us white brits are pillared for our pro Britishness. It’s seen as a negative. There are many fantastic brits. Interesting is her racial heritage and even more interesting is how she has grown prodigiously. On the other side of the Atlantic, another young prodigy, Miss Leylah Fernandez, even bears semblance to Miss Raducanu. What a wonderful treat it would be ...to see them battle it out in this 2021 ladies singles final. I wish BOTH of them the very best in this wondrous game of tennis. • This beautiful babe is a real speaker. Politically correct for all of her answers to the press. Emma looks 18 but her demeanor is so mature. Hopefully, we will have a 2021 dream final between Emma and Leylah. But I think neither one of them will get past the next round. Obviously, they are very talented but being new to international competition, they caught the older ladies off-guard. Even if they can proceed deeper into this US Open, it doesn't mean they will do well in the future. This is because they are now exposed.

    • Emma doesn't "need" tennis, it's just what she's focused on right now. You can see it in her demeanour. This is a lady who knows how to focus her attention. She proved that by her recent A Level exam results. I suspect that her Chinese mother is a major influence in her development to date, but maybe her Romanian father or her English education are equally responsible. Maybe she was just born old :-) But she is very British in the way she portrays herself. I love her. Who or whatever may claim responsibility, the end result is the Emma we see today, a glorious woman who plays beautiful, "grunt free", tennis, and maturely deals with the press attention that her on court success attracts. She came to top flight tennis at the right time in her life. I care little if she progresses further in the US Open, but I look forward to watching her play again. Her glorious smile brightens my life :-)
