Spider monkey Winston was in an illegal situation, after he was taken from his mother by poachers. Thankfully, he was rescued by Michael and primate sanctuary SPARTN ❤️

  • My dad rescued a spider monkey in the late 60s from a tiny local zoo that was going out of business, she was fully grown. My parents had 7 children and I was about 10. My mom said well what's another monkey, the monkey I think actually adopted us. Missy was a big part of our family for many years. We built her an outdoor structure like a jungle gym where she could swing, jump and run around. Many great stories and fond memories of a member of our family that we got to share with.

In the eyes of a baby, child, teen, adult...all the stages of life as we know it, these animals seldom reach more than a toddler without intense training and they are better off not being forced to perform for us. Let them be who they are but because Winston had no mother, he will forever be attached to his human as a young child.

They aren’t monkey’s because they don’t have tails. They are from the ape family. But they have the longest arms and legs and their babies look like little old men! 😂 I saw a compilation video of all different gibbons doing gibbon things and there was a male and a female walking upright side by side like a married couple.😂 The males have dark brown hair and the females are like a lighter brown sometimes cream color so you can tell them apart. But you have to look them up and see their babies if you haven’t. You won’t be disappointed!🤗🤗

    • Everyone on earth would agree that animals are a godsend. They've been with us and taken care of since civilization first emerged. There's statues of kings cuddling with cats, or walking with their dogs by their sides. Dogs have always partaken in hunts, and they protected their hunters from tigers and bears, since prehistoric times. Even in the mongal empire, hitting or killing a horse would result in a death sentence for the convicted. Mongols were raised essentially by and with their mares, and they developed bonds of trust and love with each other. Humanity will always care for our beloved animals.
