@@Serreski because they were quiet between jokes, nobody tried to heckle, and when he asked them to participate in the accents, just about the whole audience chimed in. You can tell even he was impressed by it. Pretty much the exact opposite of Bill Burr and the Philadelphia crowd LOL

I've lived in 5/7 of Australia's beautiful states and I've never heard the use of the word "slimed" like that before. Some of our woman can certainly be rough and gross though...

I love how he interacts with his audience. Most comedians shun that kind of interaction. It's probably a result of his repoir with his panel show casts.
I think it's down to a lot of comedians these days have a script they stick to instead of working ad lib. With the right crowd though all comedians can involve the audience. Peace

The clever bit is he does script his jokes (anyone who thinks he doesn't is an idiot) he just saves them up so that when an opportunity comes he jumps on it. When your timing is that good and free in conversation a good joke becomes a great joke
Not to be the spoilsport but having seen his show several times, night after night during the fringe a few years back, he does have scripted responses that he uses again and again and again. What’s so special about Jimmy is that he baits the crowd into heckling him in a certain way and then has an immediate response on hand to fire back with. It’s not all off the top, of course

I think he's immensely funnier than Gervais. Gervais is pretty detailed in his assaults on the Bible etc., which is fine with me, but his cringe humour can be almost painful wo. any humour. I can thank Gervais for Creating the Office. The only case I can think of, however, when I vastly preferred the US version to the orginal UK version. In every other case I can think of, the US versions of UK originals are dreadful.

I've always thought that great comics could switch to the stage or movie set easily and become an actor... Not so the other way around... Most actors are lost without a script and live in a rarefied bubble. Jimmy loves to ad-lib and bounce off his audience... It's a pleasure to watch.
