The horses prepare for winter by growing their winter coats. To stay warm during cold weather, the horses also need a good diet for additional energy. They get good hay, warm water, special supplements, and sometimes tasty treats...rolled oats. I get those rolled oats from a vending machine in a town nearby.

The mouse didn't seem scared of you at all...I bet you could get it to live safely with you and your cats indoors if you wanted to!

I believe the animals can sense people whose minds/souls are unburdened, not "conflicted"... ,(If you understand what I just said, please explain it to me.. lol!)

Mice chewing wires TOTALLED one of my cars (gloomy), I'd tried everything, finally, bought a device that gives off high freqency sounds; that seems to be working, my current 2006 Jeep hasn't been touched. Downer. Loved the video though. (And yes, I have 2 cats that hunt but they're well fed. Won't put out poison peanuts or anything else for many reasons. Mice are cute, but ... (sigh)

:) they do have "pecking order" or hierarchy, it is part of their nature.
Elaine Adair ... I was thinking the same thing! If I did that in my pasture somebody would end up with some hide missing. They do have a pecking order but a couple of the young ones are always trying to climb up the social ladder and getting in trouble for it! 🐎🐴

Now that's an expensive way to buy rolled oats. Very glad you demonstrated what a driver should do when deer (or any animal herd) is roadside. If you see one you can be sure there are many more that will seemingly come out of nowhere. BE ANIMAL AWARE ALWAYS

I have a cat like your horses. We called her Magpie because a) she's black & white, b) she's very nosey, c) she's a terrible thief! If you don't secure the cat food pouches, she will drag them out of the box, disappear like a lightning strike straight out of the backdoor before you can catch her and, eventually when you do find the pouches she stole and stashed somewhere in the garden, they've been (neatly) opened at one end and (carefully) had the contents squeezed out until (perfectly) empty. 🤣🤣🤣

Looks like my dad's pasture growing up! Blue and red roans, sorrels and blaze faced grulla dunn's! Wyoming was a wonderland back in the 50's and 60's. I miss it at times.

I found a mouse in a bucket in an unheated room at my brothers off his house, this one had frozen, poor baby, but nothing could of been weirder than when I was working at a tool and die and this guy kept saying something was in his shoe, so he finally takes it off and here was a baby mouse, half conscience. as I would be too after spending hours in the toe of a stinky boot, they were steel toed so I guess that gave him just enough room. It lived but that was something I won't forget. As for your videos, they are the new version of "It's a Wonderful Life"

Anyone who lives near, or in, a big city is nuts. This is living. If I ever where to win the lottery I’d buy a cabin with a lot of acreage and spend the rest of my life doing this. The hell with traveling to Europe or sailing the Caribbean, give me those mountains and horses and other wildlife. Doesn’t get any better than that.

I have always loved horses, they are so animated with there own personalities. I used to give ours a sorghum mix of different grains as a treat a couple of times a week. My uncle told me to stop it, but I didn't, lol I also used to buy them carrots and they loved them. They didn't eat the leaves off the peach trees, but the deer sure would. I guess the mouse liked the oats too.
Sorghum is generally not safe to feed to horses. Best to use a feed formulated specifically for horses.
