Stephanie, I've been watching your vlogs for over a year now and I love how they have evolved over time from the no mic, no plan, portrait mode to the great quality they are today yet still retain their honest, true to life and humble roots. They just keep getting better and better. Thank you so much for always leaving me with a feeling of renewed positivity, motivation and happiness after each viewing. I've never been a "fan" of anything before and my friends tease me over all my talk about Chateau Dairies as it is so out of character for me but I truely am a fan of your vlogs and have nothing but love and admiration for your work, your personality and your kindness. You could never image the impact you and the Lalanders have had on my life. You, Mummy and Gerry have such amazing qualities and were destined to be shared with the world to help others through tough times, renew faith in humanity and spread joy. You have beautiful souls and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for just being you.
Charlie Eire. You have just expressed almost exactly how I feel about the Chateau Diaries. Who would have guessed that I would ever have experienced such joy and, in a sense, admiration for all the characters who come in and out of Stephanie's life and how she has maintained deep friendships over the years. There are, of course, some I am not so "into" but on the whole, I look to her diaries as a total escape from what I often consider a sad and twisted world. I even enjoy watching everyone open packages. I am amazed at the thoughtful gifts AND the careful wrapping and packaging.; something I never would have thought of doing - especially during these COVID-19 times. I think I value her enthusiasm for life the most.

Philip is my new man-crush, not only does he have a great visual eye but he can actually transform the items he finds. Stephanie needs to purchase him a glue gun & staple gun with his name on them and never let him go.

Philip the new volunteer is a great addition to the team - obviously quite the handy man and I like his relaxed demeanour and humourous attitude.
🤔 He was certainly very decisive about what the ⚜Chateau required (lamps, tables, etc.). ☄Impressive lampshade DIY too. All three turned out quite splendid. Luckily, Stephanie was able to tidy up her cranberry toile shade in the end. 🎊Yay❣ 🌟Phillip also looked smashing in his fancy dressing gown and riding boots. His humor is such a kick. He's proving to be excellent for the household. ✌😊🤙

So here I am eating brie with a cuppa, watching you shop at Emaus, and decapitate toile goats, when I had a blinding realisation. My problem is not that I buy too much stuff at the charity shops. The problem is I didn't buy a chateau to house it all! 🙄🤣

Wow, talk about trash to treasures! Those lampshade transformations are amazing. And who knew crafting could be so funny; loved the snorts, cackles, and giggles. Maybe the whiskey had just a little to do with it😂And with all my Dutch ancestry (my Rycker van Lent ancestors were in New Amsterdam/ New York by the mid 1600s), I really enjoy the expanding Dutch population of LeLande.

I never thought about redoing a lamp shade with fabric. It's so amazing to have a look around the brocante with you all and the come back a transform the project. It real feels like i'm just hanging out with you all for a while.

Lamps are fab. I did manage to get an Oil Lamp, its from the 1920's, solid brass. Restored it & its now Electric, LED Bulb. Had to get a New Wooden Base for stability. All lamps & light fittings now have LED Bulbs. 🍀

The dress is beautiful, well made and so very flattering!
i never covered a lamp shade before either but had to do one recently so i youtubed it. you use plain paer to make a template for the cutting of the fabric. to make it is easy and you use this spray on glue stuff that allows the fabric to stick to the whole of the lampshade beneath it and so when you get to trimming the top and bottm you can trim it close as the edges remain tacky for a short while so you can then press it onto the shade.
