  • Contrary to many people's romantic idea of living in a château, you both show the simple truth: it isn't. There mountain ranges of maintenance, doing the place up, making hard choices in priorities, constant care for the estate, caring for guests, constant repairs. And still you create family time and keep enjoying the life and having fun. Truly exemplary!

  • The image of Anna picking up chestnuts looked like a painting. The lighting, softness and her natural beauty was a light in this evening setting. I have a feeling Phillip, that is how you see her most of the time, despite your teasing.

  • Although I’m a female, I worked in the Steel making business for almost 30 years. Everyday was fireworks for me. When you work around fire and intense heat you should ALWAYS wear clothing made of natural fiber like cotton or wool. Clothing made of nylon or any synthetic material will pit, melt or burn. A nice nylon goose down coat that costs good money can instantly be ruined no matter how careful you think you are. When you’re building campfires I’d suggest a cotton hoodie or a flannel shirt. You can be seriously burned from synthetics. They can burn and stick to your skin. I just thought I’d pass this on. It would be a shame if your children wear the wrong clothing around a campfire. Live your videos.

      @janohare916@janohare9162 жыл бұрын
    • Yes indeed! It is not only instant ruin for the synthetic clothing, but also a danger to you… natural fibers one can repair and they don’t catch like synthetics. I know from experience… and don’t have your sleeping bag anywhere near a fire’s sparking reach… that’s even more expensive and difficult to fix. I hope Phillip and Anna have seen your wise comment.

  • There is a wonderful children's book in German: 'Mein Urgrossvater und ich' by James Krüss. It contains stories that the Great grandpa tells his grandson, one is about a thousand year old chestnut tree, maybe Phillip could read it to the girls! There are many other wonderful short stories and poems in that book, really worth the buy! Enjoy your chestnut harvest!

  • Wie schön, das Oma Hildegard wieder da ist! And how lovely that the girls grow up tri-lingual it will be so valuable throughout their lives! Our family is also tri-lingual, German, Dutch and English. Since we were in each country for long times and kept up the dialogue we speak each language fully. I also read to them in each language. Knowing all the nuances, analogies, word games is such a wealth on our personal level. My French is a little rusty but comes back every time with the help of champagne 🥂 As does my lesser Italian: pro secco, and Spanish: cava :) I call that “Menu language” = I know the basics greetings, thank you and can read the menus. I hope to be going back to Europe in 2022 and hope to stay with you then.

It may not seem like it now, but in the blink of an eye they'll be off to university. You'll be left with an empty home asking yourself where did all those years go. At the moment your so busy you look forward to crawling into bed each night. Thankfully, the two of you have show us you're mastering a well balanced life. There is time for work and time for the family to enjoy life together. I respect and applaud the need to keep your private lives off camera.. well you try to at least minimizewhat you share with us. But when they say or do something funny or clever it is difficult to not share those amazing moments with anyone will to watch and listen. Sharing the precious time you all had as a family around the "bonfire" with us, was a real treat. Thank you. Your family is so wonderful and special. Bravo you two.. bravo.
