In this video I install the 1.5" lift from @Ironman4x4America on my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero also know as the Pajero everywhere else in the world. This is the first step in this project, getting a lift, wheels and tires. Than we can move on to the fun stuff!! I am using Mamba Offroad M27 17x9 +12mm offset wheel wrapped with the @NittoChannel Ridge Grappler tires in a 285/70/17. I cant wait to start taking it offroad!!

  • Had a 2003 Montero Limited that my ex-wife still has. About 240,000 miles. Did an Old Man Emu lift on it about 15 years ago. It's been the most reliable vehicle I've had in 40 years. Can you believe they came with a carbon fiber driveshaft back then? They really were engineered well and with heavy-duty components. I look forward to seeing what else you do with it. My ex is about ready to trade it in for something and I'm considering buying it from her to play with.

  • I just installed this lift on my gen 3 using your vid, what a difference! I also just ordered the same size tires and style of aftermarket wheels that you put on. Couple of questions.. Did you have any issue mounting the 5th wheel on the back? Also, what did you use to trim the front bumper, and how much did you have to cut off? There’s almost a line where the bumper folds under, and that looks to me like a pretty good template to follow

    @andrewabogado@andrewabogado Жыл бұрын
  • It's such a great suspension design. I'm not sure the ironman stuff does it justice. I've got 12kg/mm front and 15kg/mm rear springs on Dobinson's MRR shocks and it's like a cheap trophy truck off-road. You need to check that cv at full droop + steering lock.

  • Hello Muddy Beards.. I Installed new struts with my already lifted (LOVELL Springs) MIT MONTY GEN 3. Now when I tried to install 1/2 inch spacers to give it a slight nose up look. I could not get the bottom strut bolt in .I tried every thing . If there is a trick I don't know about could you let me know. • Great job with the videos on the Montero. I have 3. of these. Are you having any issues with the CV axles and or boots been ripped? I have the exact same setup on my 03 20th Anniversary Edition Montero, Ironman 2 inch lift kit plus half of the Ukranian made 70 inch lift kit ( had to cut in half to give me an extra inch on each side ) I have to get all my numbers again since it seems my lift keeps losing altitude but its probably just me.. Anyway, great job at describing everything I had to do plus more because I did it twice but I am happier once I added the Ironman coil over set except for my axles been at angle that keeps me looking for a better way to align them closer to straight line with a transfer case drop kit or something. I have seen some for sale for the Jeep Cherokee with IFS but I have not found anything for our Monteros. If you have any suggestions please let us all know as Im sure there is more than just me looking for a solution to this problem so we can rub less and also buy less CV boots as those are also important. Thanks in advance and great to hear you have a Montero.

    @2XXEquiz@2XXEquiz Жыл бұрын
    • Hey bro, if the cv boot is rubbing through on itself then what you need to do is re-clamp it but stretch it out and clamp it further up the shaft to eliminate the rubbing. If you want to change the angle of the CV you need a Front Diff drop.

So I put the spring with the writing D/S on the passenger side and the one with the writing N/S on the driver's side. by doing this I have the right side 6 mm higher. but it is definitely more acceptable than the 2 centimeters before. @jvh22a@jvh22a Жыл бұрын
    • When I bought the Montero it was between a xterra and the Montero. It came down to what you get for the money. The xterra was cheap plastic, cloth interior with limited options. The Montero limited has a very nice, well build, comfortable interior. It was made to compete with land cruisers of the time. And the 4wd system is far superior in the Montero. The comfort of independent suspension on all 4 corners as well. I could go on for a while, you just get way more for the $ with the Montero.
