The emotional reaction of young people to the activism of the old lady is astonishing. She was able to capture and channel the feeling traped inside the hearts of people passing by. A true artist in that sense. The most respect for the courage and braveness of these women.
Like young people everywhere, they have no clue what they are talking about. There were children when Ukraine launched its assault on russian speakers.

Most Russians are against the war, I say that as a Russian citizen. Most just don't have hope anymore, we tried to overthrow the government in 2010, 2012, 2014, etc. But it didn't work out. But I will do everything I can to get us united again.

Easy to say, hard to do. Those women are heroes, but most of people are not, and despite being against this war they have to sacrifice their desire to stand against the government for their safety and “freedom” (being outside of prison is the best freedom you can have in Russia).

This reminds me of my teenage youth blocking the freeway through Seattle with protests against the Vietnam War. We knew the government was lying. We knew there was no justifiable reason for us to be there. All we could do was protest. These poor folks can’t even do that without risking arrest and prison.
My dad served in the Navy during Vietnam. My grandfather served during ww2. Freedom is not free. And hats of to all our service men & women.
