BOAT SINKING AT HAULOVER INLET!! | MAYDAY MAYDAY 8 PASSENGERS!!
Crazy day at Haulover Inlet. A bowrider with 8 passengers started taking on water near the end of the south jetty. I had to call it in myself on my radio and thankfully help was right around the corner. The towboat guys flew to the scene and salvaged what could have ended in a tragedy. Great job to all the first responders!

In other words tide wants to pull you under while waves want to drown you at the surface. I don't care how good you can swim, any little problem becomes huge without flotation in that environment. I just purchased my first boat and would never overload it like that. Plus the captain should have stayed in neutral instead of gunning it in full forward. Also should have had his passengers move as far aft as possible. The bilge system probably would have corrected it. The lesson here is always pay attention to the capacities of your boat
