I shot this video (©Michael Finn Photography) on Saturday, October 31st., 2015 while staying at Entim Camp in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. Having survived a massive heart attack almost a year earlier, this trip was a "Bucket List" promise to myself. Thankfully I made it and this crossing of the Mara River during the annual migration was one of the many highlights of my trip. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed being there.

This is Natural Africa. Still intact as God created it and no one will ever destroy it however hard they try because they never get tired of trying. So proud to be an African. Thank You Lord.
Thanks for watching, Paulinus and for your comment. Take care, stay safe.
Wait, Paulinus, do not thank Lord. Nobody tries to destroy Africa. And being African is not reason for pride. Non-Africans are not inferior or subhuman, they are the same people like you. When you realize this, thank Lord.
Hope youre still around...fabulous video.....
Thanks for watching, Dave and particularly for your kind wishes. I'm still here (it's hard to get rid of a bad thing, ha ha). Take care.
Congrats. Impressive, but I absolutely enjoy watching birds. Wish you a pleasant evening. Kind regards, Knut.
Thanks, Knut. I understand. Take care, stay safe.
Thank you. ◕‿◕
Looks like they have a strong urge to get to their destination. Amazing.
Truly astounding! Another one of natures masterpieces! The natural world never ceases to amaze, we are privileged as humans to share this planet with such superior life.
Thanks for watching, Alice. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. Take care, stay safe.
@@michaelfinnwildlifephotogr5768 Thank you for sharing Michael, it must have been a very moving and overwhelming experience to witness such natural wonder in real life. Amazing creatures. You have done them justice!
Unbelievable sight Michael, Sir Richard Attenborough would be proud of that video, well done.
Thanks, Gordon. It was one of the most incredible sights I've ever witnessed and being a photographer rather than a videographer I'm really pleased the way it turned out, considering it was handheld. I only filmed this short piece as I wanted to concentrate on stills and the whole crossing took about an hour. Thanks again for the kind words. Keep in touch.

Thanks for watching and for your kind words. It truly was an amazing sight, a memory to last a lifetime. Take care, stay safe.
Nice work! You really have to see it in person to truly appreciate the scope of it as pictures and video can't do it justice, but you did a good job capturing an amazing crossing...really got the viewer up close to the action!

Wonderful capture! Thank you! Wow!!! This seems to be a rather safe spot to cross - did not see the dreaded alligators!!
Thanks for watching, Rulian. There was only one crocodile in the river that day because it was almost the end of the season and they had eaten their fill. Take care, stay safe.
@@michaelfinnwildlifephotogr5768 thank you Michael! I feel very happy for the wildebeests!!😋 Hope to go witness the migration one day after the pandemic is over!!

Take care, stay safe.
@@michaelfinnwildlifephotogr5768 I really loved reading it. It was a well narrated wild life personal story. Felt like visiting Maasai mara, i have never seen the massive animal river crossing. I always loved wildlife and forest from my childhood, but somehow i kept all the plans for future. But after reading your story i felt like its the time to do it.
I hope you get to go, Christin. Be careful, though, you may not want to come back. Take care, stay safe.

The reason you see no crocodile is that it was the end of the season and most would have had their fill. There was actually one in the water and it did catch a wildebeest. Thanks for watching. Take care, stay safe.

Lindo esse vídeo
stunning video - have seen this in person so yes I know what a spectacular sight this is
Thank you, Beverley. It was very late in the year and because of this I didn't expect to see even one crossing but in fact, I saw three, this being the most spectacular. As a photographer I was more interested in still images but I'm delighted that I did actually capture this short piece of video.
absolutely stunning well done and thank you so much for sharing. More videos like this should be on the net as opposed to gore and blood of animals being mutilated. Al I can say is wow and thank you that I had the opportunity of seeing this once again - gives me goose flesh as I am very passionate about the animals and the earth. Bless you a million fold
Thanks again Beverley. For being so kind (and giving me a big head!!!) I'd like to give you a little present, which I know from the tone of your message you'll appreciate. Just drop me an email at michaelfinnwildlifephoto@gmail.com and wait for the magic. Take care.

How many Thousend are their?30-40?
I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer, Giuseppe but my guess is about 100K because it took almost an hour and a half for all to cross. Thanks for watching. Take care.
Omg! Is this for real? Unbelievable.
Yes, Patricia, it truly is remarkable. It was such a privelage to have been there to capture it and although I filmed only a couple of minutes, it actually lasted for more than an hour. Take care, stay safe and thanks for watching.

My question to you is do you not think that these wilderbeast and the zebras would have less problem if you had your car's not in the way I mean every time I see you guys filming your vehicles are right in the way of them trying to get out of the river
Hi Lizzy. Thanks for the question which I think is an excellent one. To answer you I can only speak for myself: I in no way interfered with the passage of the animals. I was not in a vehicle. I was standing between the ruts which the animals themselves create in the river banks which allows them free and safe passage when travelling in both directions. I hope this answers your question.
