  • I'm not sure why, but I love watching these giant crocodiles hunt, kill & eat their prey. It's just fascinating to me; how HUGE they are, how their plan of attack works, how they wait for the precise moment, how they work as a team & share meals, etc. Crocodiles are literally an incredible present-day link to the ancient, prehistoric world.

    • To be fair I feel like the method of execution for our factory farms is more humane than getting eaten alive. That being said, I’d rather have wild animals live free but dangerously short lives, and the reduction of cruelty in factory farming. That may never happen however, too many people in the world to feed. Moralizing animals is a difficult subject, I’m sure Mr. Crocodile would have no problem eating me alive too.

  • The intelligence of crocodilians is not talked about enough. They can plan, and plot their attacks. Something interesting about Nile crocodiles in particular, as shown in the video, is the fact that they are social, and they will indeed work together (which is rare as most crocodilians are solitary); Nile crocodiles are among the most social of all reptiles.

  • "I hate crocodiles; they're so mean!" Uh, no, it's just doing what it takes to survive. Crocodiles don't have supermarkets with vast selections to choose from when they get hungry. "But they've had enough by now! They're full, so why don't they just leave them alone?" Crocodiles have survived for 80 million years for a reason: They're pretty damn smart, actually. Crocodiles will continue killing prey with every opportunity they get, even on full bellies. They're intelligent creatures who'll kill more prey, and then drag their bodies underwater for storage in the riverbank tunnels they dig out. This way, their next meals are already lined up and ready to go without needing to spend energy on seeking for prey.
