Masai Mara reserve in Kenya is a place where wildebeests and zebras cross river Mara. They are in great danger from crocodiles, which are waiting for this moment whole year. Crocodile attacked a zebra and our hearts were beating fast! The crossing is a true natural drama. One of the biggest Nile crocodiles in Africa live in this river. Another danger could be drowning and hippos. Also the river bank is slippery. The great migration consists of about 1.8 million wildebeests and several hundreds of zebras and gazelles. Wildebeests are always on the move, they follow rains and go to areas with fresh grass.

  • It's quite odd that they don't cross where the opposing river banks are the closest or the width of the river at it's narrowest, either way many will perish in the jaws of enormous hungry crocodiles! Wildebeests and Zebras are not very bright, it's a good thing that there's tens of thousands !

    @jayhouse3149@jayhouse31492 жыл бұрын
    • Sometimes they cross at very difficult places. Wildebeests are not as intelligent as zebras. It was visible here that zebras hesitated. In this case, they almost payed a high price for it. In general, you rarely see crocodiles kill a zebra, but wildebeests get killed often.

    • Its probably got to do with how deep the water is. Its probably less deep where they go so it poses less of a threat
