Impressive scenes!!! The great Serengeti migration is "the greatest show on Earth”. Wildebeest and zebras in the Serengeti are part of the largest migratory movement of wild animals anywhere in the world, about 2,000,000 ungulates constantly moving in search of pastures and water across the vast Serengeti ecosystem. Seeing the migration in the Serengeti is simply the best you can get from a Safari in Africa.

Serengeti National Park is certainly Tanzania’s most famous park and one of the most famous in the world. The Serengeti ecosystem is home to over 1.5 million wildebeest, 300,000, 500,000 Thompson gazelles, more than 2,700 lions, 1000 leopards, 500 cheetahs, huge herds of elephants, elands, impalas, waterbucks, giraffes, ostriches, and genets. The rivers offer the perfect habitat for crocodiles and hippos; there are more than four hundred species of birds. The 15,000 square kilometres (9320 sq miles) of the Serengeti National Park are only the major portion of a larger ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Plains (the flat region in the north east of the Ngorongoro Crater, which plays an important role in the famous migration and is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area) and the Maasai Mara (which is located further north, in Kenya). Here the orography, the soil composition and, consequently, the type of vegetation, allow unmatched animal sightings in Africa. The subsoil, made of volcanic rocks especially in the south, prevents the growth of tall trees and grasslands prevail, so the open environment fosters sightings. Wildebeest and zebras in the Serengeti are the actors of “the greatest show on Earth”, they are part of the largest migratory movement of wild animals anywhere in the world, about 2,000,000 ungulates constantly moving in search of pastures and water across the vast Serengeti ecosystem. We’ll try to summarize the stages here below while bearing in mind that migratory patterns cannot be predicted with precision because they are closely linked to the rain trends and the availability of water. I have said it myself, you get what you get with videos like this. It is however beyond me when a person holding a good camera is constantly sweeping back and forth and never staying focused on one place for more then a couple seconds. It is as though he rented a video camera for the trip and had used one before. I am a wildlife photographer and dream of doing a safari myself. Now having ranted on I'll say that was an amazing look at those 1000's of gnu's crossing the river. So the camera sweeps did make clear.
Of course the camera man was overwhelmed and he tried to get everything on the video.

After watching thousands of hours of Animals documentaries i concluded, this is the greatest scene to ever be recorded.
I'm afraid the government might have something to do to control the multiplication of that poor wildbeasts by killing at least half of them because its astounding multiplication is consider a major concern for the government and it's quite alarming if not given attention.
Too bad it was filmed by a wildebeest that didn't know how to use a camera.

At about 7:30 you can see that many of the wildebeasts are stuck going up the hill so they had enough sense to take a different route. People do the same thing when moving in a large crowd through a few narrow choke points.
Their Route is blocked by stupid ignorant people in Jeeps. Seen this scene and counted the Vehicles lining the Mara River - stopped at 65 ! Not joking.
