No skills required. Even a blind one eyed lion can catch something to eat at this wildebeest ambush spot.

    • @@spaceembassy365 how small minded. That was already her intent to catch smaller ones. She doesn't need to eat as much and she doesn't have to share. Lion Males have more bruth strenght size and power and can take more hits, that's why the most hunts are by lionesses because females are better suited for it, but if they attack a big animal (buffolo,hippo,elephant,rhino) then the males also have to participate since females alone won't make it.

  • What a mess! I'm so glad I was able to go on a camera safari back in the late 60's. We were 4 young women with a guide in a Range Rover out on the Serengeti and never once saw another vehicle! Can't imagine having to experience it like this. But . . . things change. We came across the birth of a zebra. A herd of wildebeest had formed a wide circle around the mother to protect her from predators. The guide said it was not uncommon for the two species to hang out together for protection. We managed to drive through the circle slowly and get close-up photos from a respectable distance. Watched the new born take it's first wobbly steps.

    @davidrlindsay@davidrlindsay4 жыл бұрын
    • I think these tourists are doing a favor by keeping the revenue flowing and generating money that goes into paying salaries for the park staff and conservation efforts. Getting them close is part of the excitement and fun. The animal don't seem bothered too. If they weren't there, then their would be no incentive to save these animals and a regular joe whose working in the park would instead become a poacher. This is much much better than seeing these big cats in the hands of some cheap ass jerk like Tiger King or the guest room of a Chinese millionaire or maybe a circus stage.

      @aashiv93@aashiv934 жыл бұрын
    • @@aashiv93 To quote "Getting them close is part of the excitement and fun." This highlights that your thoughts are not in line with acceptable practices in animal conservation. Fortunately, the idea of "excitement and fun" for tourists first is outdated in places like South Africa and Canada and even Zimbabwe .... Tourists can still observe and appreciate the wildlife and the interaction of species without being in the middle of them. Kenya is just behind the times.

      @davidrlindsay@davidrlindsay4 жыл бұрын
    • @@davidrlindsay Being in the middle is not a problem. Especially when the entire park isn't open for tourist access anyway. The core areas are and should always be off limits. If animals are coming out to the peripheries during season then what's the harm in watching them up close. Provoking animals or forcing them to show themselves should not be done. Also, Safari vehicles are being modernized and some now have silent Tesla engines to not disturb animals. Number of tourist vehicles going out at a time should also be regulated. Of course, I am not suggesting that it is all fine but getting too close to animals while making sure to not interfere in their routine is okay. Nothing in the video suggests that any of the animals were disturbed by the crowd of vehicles around them. By your logic, zoos around the world should be closed down cause receiving crowds of people day in, day out should be much more stressful than just a bunch of cars that lounge around and might as well be another animal in the ecosystem, from the lion's perspective.
