  • Continuation in FS means if wrestler A initiates a move inbounds, but completes the move out of bounds then it is still scored. This is because the action started inbounds, the reason the 4 point move was given to B instead of R was because when B was being pushed back, he changed the direction of R's movement and initiates the front headlock lift in bounds, taking him off his feet and to his back. R was pushing him forward, B lifted him upwards, this is a change in direction; ie: it became B's move when changed the direction of attack with counter-attack

    @aksandcoffee42069@aksandcoffee4206911 ай бұрын
    • Freestyle confuses me. So changing the direction of a takedown is a 4-point move? Or are throws in general, even if you don't establish control like a takedown, a 4-point move?

  • Jordan made some vital mistakes by not finishing that single leg in match 2 and not posting his right hand on the mat and bracing out or sagging hips down when he was driving Chance out of bounds on the 4 point swing in third match. Burroughs definitely lost his intensity on the edge of the match and just went with the roll exposing his back. Chance getting those far outside single leg shots when Burroughs was out of position standing straight up instead of in being in his stance and down blocking them and spinning around were confusing. I am thinking Burroughs was stunned that someone would even attempt such a shot. Chance definitely capitalized on Burroughs mistakes.

    @Ur2ez4me81@Ur2ez4me8111 ай бұрын
    • I also agree that it is 4 for chance. However, the reason why I think it is 4 for chance is because Chance actually STOPPED Jordan's momentum from the first attack. You can see Chance stop Jordan's leg attack and then hit the throw. If Chance used JBs momentum entirely, it would actually be 4 for Jordan

I actually believed JB would dominate Chance and even lost $1K after betting that Jordan would take match 3. It was hard paying that with the call at the end but the rules are the rules and they got it right. I tell you what, Marstellers strength and style is gonna cause big problems throughout the international scene. I know he’s beaten top guys before but this is a different version that I don’t think most of us could’ve never imagined. Big props to Chance and knowing his story makes him really easy to root for. No reason to stop the match. Unless it is dangerous, keep them wrestling. I wish they would make this change for international style. Would make the matches more gritty and exciting, and reduce the impact of frequent stops on the pace and momentum.

Using footwork requires going out of range then into range repeatedly. Its not stalling or backing up. This over officiating needs to stop. They want these athletes headbudding each others like mountain goats Normalize using footwork from the outside. Its a legit skill set and strategy.

  • Looks to me like the better wrestler won this series. JB has serious problems with making the 2024 Olympic team. If he bumps up to 86kg, he'll have to beat Marsteller, Zahid, Brooks, and Taylor, which seems almost impossible. The last time he sucked down to 74kg during the 2021 Olympic trials, he looked drawn, lethargic, and obviously felt miserable. Now, three years later, three years older, and three years bigger, he'll have to suck back down and beat Dake, Nolf and Dieringer. Chances seem very, very slim. He reminds me of Muhammad Ali. An all-time great who stuck around for a few fights too many fights. Father Time waits for no man.

    • @RVONL Lol then why would he have a chance against Dake?? Dake is far more dominant right now at 74kg than Taylor at 74k than Taylor at 86kg. Taylor actually had a tough close match against Brooks, edging him out by 1 (rejected challenge point) Dake cake walked a more accomplished Nolf.

    • @RVONL Lol they're from the same country, we are talking nationally. I won't really go into how David after winning gold, only won a silver in 2021, where as Dake went on to win Gold in 2021 Taylor also has more losses on the world stage than Dake. Never the less, Dake was more dominant in his nation team qualifier than Taylor, against a more accomplished opponent, what Taylor did 3 years ago doesn't change that, and it's pretty ridiculous, to try and discredit Dake's current performance on a single loss from 2020, while ignoring Dave's loss in 2021.

    • @RVONL Except the only guy to actually beat Dake has retired and gone into MMA ya goof. Also Dake has been far more dominant on the world stage than sidikov since 2020, I don't know why you're obsessed with 2020 Olympics in 2023...

    • @@richterbelmont5506 yeah, I’ve heard that before! Celebrating a singlet grab that hard with 15 seconds left after the period ended that had zero bearing to defending a takedown or scoring is a joke lol. If it’s like a cage grab in mma to prevent a takedown I get it. If it’s blatant and deliberately chippy I get it to. In the heat of battle 15 seconds later after requested feels like I didn’t score so I’m gonna try to get a free be. Easy way out and opposite of what wrestlings about. I heard Gumby was the man!
