That loss in match 2 completely deflated Dake. His passivity when he went on the clock cost him.

Burroughs got a little handsy at the end there, surprised he didn’t get penalized for that, but he definitely shut Dake down other than that. Both great wrestlers 🤙🏼

Daytona Says What?! I’m going with Jordan Burroughs my friend, I think he’s got one last run in him for Olympic Gold although Dake appears to be in his prime and essentially unbeatable but I think that weight cut is going to affect him adversely.

Every match with Burroughs has him being extremely handsy. Most matches he should get called, but it rarely happens, unfortunately. He's an excellent wrestler, and shouldn't need to resort to slap boxing.
Burroughs did a technique which was productive, dake just did what jordan did to be petty and get revenge. When jordan had no degenerative intentions. That's why Jordan looked at the ref, he intuitively knew dake's intentions were poor.

I'm not sure how we can draw any conclusions when Drake had to work 6 matches on the same day while Burroughs had 3. Flo needs to figure out how to level the playing field for championship matches. I still don't understand how JB wound up with two points in the second match when Drake drove him off the mat and appeared to have control.
The two points were from the previous exchange, they were just slow to put it on the board.

From what I can tell, Dake didn't get the points because he didn't have a takedown, and Burroughs got the 2 because of a previous interaction.

Man reminds me of my own wrestling career. Much lower stakes of course. My senior year, I was varsity my whole year. Got challenged every week by another senior and always beat him. Week of regionals when he challenges me, I'm kinda passive but in control, but never aggressive, and I lose in double overtime. He had to beat me 2 out of 3 because of how long I had the spot. The next day I wrestled better, but narrowly beat him 5-2 in the second match. 3rd match, I came in way more aggressive and in control, and beat him 10-0. I felt so much like Jordan did after that 2nd victory. Hell of a come back for him.

Dam gave up after the headlock in the final seconds. Not too much you can do there but it seems like he just new it was hard and gave up. If I was Dake’s coach I’d be pissed that he stopped fighting. Even if it’s tough you still gotta keep going.

Dake won the first match up, and lost the second match up due to a terrible call. you can tell he seems to be caring more muscle than burroughs. In both the first two matches he catches his leads early and fades as the match goes on, definitely doesn't have as good as cardio, so im not surprised by the 3rd match of the day ( and other matches against other people) he wore down first.

Dake definitely doesn't look as crisp as he normally does. There is no doubt it would be a different match if they are both at 100%.

I saw an interview with Dake and he said he always thought he would beat Dake. Either he's lying or he's the ONLY one on the planet that ever thought it would happen. When he first wrestled Burroughs we all thought he had a chance because somehow he beat great wrestlers like Taylor. Then after a decade we all thought it would just never happen. Then suddenly this year after Burroughs shattered his ankle a Christmas miracle happened...

That's what I thought too. I have done it in jiu jitsu - pulled a guy in and hit myself in the face with his knee but 100% my fault. Also slapped myself in the face when my grip slipped. When you start complaining to the ref I think the ref stops sympathizing.

I'm 22 and want to start for the first time. I seen my local high school has and adult program once a week. I recommend looking at your local high school.also consider a catch wresling gym.

The rules need to be changed. I'm a fan of JB & Dake. The rules need to be squared up. Dake should NOT have to wrestle 3x before facing JB. That's simply not fair at all.

1 Fact that cant be argued father time will catch JB and Dake is a little younger he will win next series. JB relies on athleticism and that disappears. Takes defense is second to none and therefore will outlast JB.

Kyle Bell... Kyle didn’t work any offense at all, so that’s why he lost. Maybe next time they should give him a 4 point lead so Jordan can have more offense. You’re right though more offense needs to happen for the guy with more points
Not true. Jordan grabbed a single leg with about 30 seconds left in the first. He also got in deep on a shot early in the second.
The referee should be disqualified! After ist fourth points Burroughs was only passiv - but the referee was not interested in.
