(Disclaimer: As mentioned, there are going to be some exceptions. But more often than not, eggs are pretty darn tough if external forces are evenly distributed around the entire surface area.)

Dang
I love you Ryan
You look like my uncle
Imagine just having a peaceful day and out of nowhere an egg drops on your head.
That would hurt so bad 💀
Oh sorry that was egg number #19019498716354936294 it was dropped from 1,000 ft. My best eggsperiment yet
If you had lots of hair it will be fine 😹
And it didnt crack

In third grade this happened to me (and the two other members of my team, it was in teams) in an egg drop competition, we had somehow swiftly won even though our design was very flawed and then the teacher told us to slowly remove parts of our contraption until the egg broke upon contact with the ground. Pretty soon it was at the point where people were chucking our egg into the sky and it would hit the ground and bounce slightly with no damage.
holy moly, incredibly fun, funny, and informative video, appreciate you putting this together, great job!
Ha, this is a blast, very enjoyable episode, crisp and funny editing, LOVE it! Keep up the great work and thanks for making these!
You R ❤️ to me :D
I don’t know why many people say these types of things in the comments of how good the video or editing is but, not gonna complain
Can you test if it still works when you wrap the egg with a grass patch and drop it on a hard surface like concrete instead?
i wonder if the earth under the grass has something to do with it too.
the concrete would shatter

Cant wait for pt 2
I just love your videos, how they are funny, and tell you how science works
dude you guys are comedians! hahahaha I hope you guys continue to make more videos
Another awesome video guys! Love the subway joke. Any chance you’ll elaborate on part 2 on the relationship between the arch-like structure of the egg and grass? What is it about grass specifically that prevents the egg from cracking? I would assume that the surface area of the egg in contact with a flat patch of grass would be similar to that of a flat piece of concrete. Perhaps it’s the elasticity of healthy soil that makes the difference?
No I think it's the same as throwing something in a hanging blanket
This was a ton of fun to work on with you guys! Can't wait for part 2 surprises ;)
@Lukeoplays I flew the drone :)
It’s been a year daddy I really really miss you
Haven't watched a video from this channel for a long time
Very cool video. I was extremely surprised just like you guys. It’s amazing what nature can do
Damn all humpty had to do was Land in the grass
Hahaa lmao😂😂😂😂
At this point you should make a competition where if you could break the egg by throwing on the grass you win.
3:56 The man walking on the right of the screen be like: Why are there 2 people dressed as chickens- and why is there a chicken, a mask, and a drone in the air!?
The Chicken Drown was so hilarious 😂 XD
i did knew about it but to see it in real was quite satisfying!!!
The harder you slam it the tighter the shell gets pushed together causing a Lichtenstein tap to break it easily but causing a hard slam to keep the egg in tact
Unreal and funny as ever. Curious about that Tesla egg project and how you rigged the drone with a drop mechanism.
Pretty curious about how they did that as well
When you said it crashed I was not expecting the drone to literally explode
Imagine looking out your window, seeing a couple men dressed in chicken costumes, a drone with a chicken head on it, dropping eggs from taller than you house and yelling.
Always ready to watch a video from Ian Kung's assistants xD
ok
Ok ok let me know when you get here ok 🙏
Fun fact: We had an egg drop in school and I somehow managed to make my egg survive with 2 boxes rubber bands and a grocery bag. (I procrastinated big time)
Same, we had one to! It was in yr 1 or 2 or maybe even reception- (I can’t remember what I made cuz it was like 3 years ago)

Guys try doing a video on height required to cook an egg in mid air (by heat generated due to air resistance acting on the egg) ❤️👍😁
It isn’t air resistance lighting the egg on anything on fire. It’s the air in front of the object being compressed really really fast, which sets it on fire
I love how he snaps his fingers and his friend was not dress and I love how he said “I thought we was doing it tomorrow !”😂😂😂😂
THERE BACK WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Part of me really wants to say its fake, but i feel like it isnt, even if it was fake, i love seeing them being so excited about dropping an egg
@averageuser120 ok but how could he not crush it in his hands
@@tentaplayz3691 Its because its a Dome shape. Dome Shaped Structures (which is clearly said in the video) Is very strong against forces that is squishing them, You would need the same certain amount of force to crush a (Dome Shaped structure) like this egg so it would be hard to do it in his hands and would need a lot of grip force for it. Try crushing an egg with you’re hands and see how hard it really is.
@@tentaplayz3691 Even a deadlifting Athlete or someone with a grip strength of 20-30kilos, they’re hands takes effort to crush an egg.
@@ashtonmalla3645 really cause I tried it and that shit broke so easy
@@hanakoikezawa8322 It could have a crack too you know, the tiniest of cracks can easily break an egg. Or the other hand, you are just very strong or you were putting pressure on a specific side.

Thanks, I tried squeezing an egg, you absolutely can… that was one huge mess to clean up, it seems if you manage to crack them they kinda explode. I also got a piece of eggshell stuck in my palm so thanks
😳 oh dang. Results may vary
Try crashing from the very ends That can't crash Sideways will definitely crash
@@RyanKung depends how you are holding it, the egg whilst using all four fingers and have them specifically curled around the egg, than it wont break, it has something to do with the weight distribution. For example if you try doing the same thing but with only 2 fingers and not curled up then it is a piece of cake.
Your so underrated you need to have more subscribers!

@@Billybradshaw738 ?
We tried this and it definitely didn't work! Eight out of eight eggs broke!!! :(
the problem isn't the egg then. your grass is likely patchy and not full like a golf course.
Grass is fantastic. I crash landed RC Planes on grass many times and didn't brake. While on hard surfaces you needed perfect landing.
Now we learnt that eggs are tanks in grass and like a glass on a concrete floor
Me at 1:20 of the video: B-but I thought ch-chick-chickens ca-can’t FLY...MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE (Also I put a rime there so yea but seriously I thought they can’t fly)
What if you have to drop it only on concrete
What do you think?
Please make part two
This thing is actually true! I tested it out and as long as it lands on grass the egg is fine
you are 6(i think) months late for april's fools
It's not breaking on grass because grass decreases the weight of the egg at the end so it mostly keeps the same shape.
WHAT??? Lmao what you smoking, mans said decrease the WEIGHT😂😂😂😂😂😂
If falling into grass after ejecting from airplane you don't need no parachute. Just egg-shape yourself and bounce around happily safe!
Can you break an egg on grass? If an egg is dropped on concrete, it usually breaks.
Yeah
Yeah, I had to test this myself so I threw it up into the air as high as I possible could and it fell back down and broke XD. It landed on the grass but maybe the soil composition plays a factor in it all. When I tossed the egg at the grass it wasn't breaking tho.
Subtle Subway dig earns you a like LOL
What?
?
What ?
What?
What?
THATS ALOT OF SUBWAY SANDWICHES
EGGS ARE POWERFUL
Does this mean you can win any egg drop challenge by just covering it in some grass and dirt you dug up?
No.... it has to land on grass. Completely different from covering it with grass
I would say yes, if you are dropping it with a wide and thick enough patch of grass/dirt so that the impact can get absorbed.
@@NoNsToPuH explain why. The only real difference is that when surrounding it in the material you might compress the grass more than if you drop the egg onto the grass. But considering how high they were able to drop it I'm gonna say that the compression of the grass isn't that important.
Probably what absorbs the energy is the soil more than the grass. so maybe if you wrap the egg up in a 1m thick layer of soil and grass it would work
This sounds so fake, i have to test this tomorrow. I will be so amazed!
how did it go?
i remember me and my buddy were doing an egg toss thing in out physics class, and when i tossed it to him, it hit the grass and bounced into his arms, the craziest thing that happened that day
That egg is unbreakable
your teacher: why do you have grass for your project? student:
THATS SO STRONG THE EGG BRO
not sure if canadian eggs are different but my eggs crack easily on grass
This video is hilarious 😂
From what I'm aware of, there's also an evolutionary aspect to the structure of an egg that doesn't necessarily apply to modern day chickens but instead their ancestors. It is inevitable when you make a small bowl-like structure at the top of a high tree that sometimes things inside of this tiny bowl will fall out, including bird eggs. So over time birds who laid eggs that could survive drops from such heights had more offspring on average than those that didn't, and natural selection did the rest.
Nah, it’s just good design
the height doesnt matter egg hits terminal velocity at some point so you can keep going higher and higher and it wont change anything
That grass JUST brakes the fall of the egg! I am so surprised!
2:23 110 subway foot long sandwiches because they're not 1 foot each 😂
I find it hilarious watching someone left handed throw something 😂😂😅
WHAT DRONE IS THAT! I have been trying to find a drone and this looks perfect and do you need the drone license
Imagine an egg casually drops like a meteor to the ground and does no impact at all
Hello how are you just a question do you guys use inventor 2020 or 2021 ?
If mars had grass on it, curiosity rover wouldn't need airbag/parachutes, just egg shape
This is perfect, I'm having an egg drop at my school soon, so I can tell my teacher about this
I thought it was fake but I saw the vid I was AMAZED!
Anger issues kicking in: *super saiyan mode enabled* The egg: your nothing
Awesome wow that is so awesome and I really appreciate all you do ❤
My favorite part is cutting the chicken crack me up get it 😂
Taking egg shape in a grass field will save you from lightening strike during a storm.
That is so cool that the egg doesn’t brake, I mean like how did it now even have a tiny crack??!!
Damn I wanted to see how high the drone could take it before it broke
Suddenly becoming stationary does the twick
hmmmm this really helped I now know how to win an egg drop challenge
Hey guys. I absolutely love your work and, to my knowledge, you are the only guys that ever proved that you cannot break an egg on video. I know I may be wrong so save all the other comments please from all the naysayers. Anyway, my high school son and I'm love trying out just about any experiment we see on youtube. He said we should start filming these trials. We would basically be average amateurs try and what they see on KZhead to see if it really works. I would love to use some of your footage to show how we learned what we did about eggs in our videos. I don't have a lot of followers right now but you never know. Would you guys mind? I'll give credit and Link to your channel always. Thanks.
This egg defies physics
I like how they are studying eggs
Make egg shell body armor its gonna work like ceramic against bullets 😂
Just went outside, and literally the first throw onto grass and the egg shattered.
Great content
You can see him put the cracked one away for a second in one
3:37 LMFAO love that
That is amazing 🤩
Imagine you are a yolk and this is what you have to deal with.
At my wedding my younger friends kept on throwing glasses on grass after drinking and none broke
Can you build a device to surpass its terminal velocity? Like a t-shirt cannon or something that will break the egg on impact with grass
I bet when that chicken hatches its brain is gonna hurt so bad
In this video you make it like it's a Mark Rober video
Guys the egg has creative mode on
The army should take notes for the egg dropper.
Inside the egg, the yellow part is also safe inside the white gelatin which will absorbe and redistribute energy due to viscosity!
