    • @@darlenechandler2403As to them all celebrating the US Thanksgiving and not the Canadian one, might that be because Thanksgiving was an original US holiday that the Canadians decided was a good tradition and then took it on for their own country? Personally, I think it's a great holiday to have in any country, at some point during the year.

As it is, my friends and I sometimes do a ‘Friendsgiving’ on Canadian Thanksgiving so it’s not so close to all the other holiday activities and we can really enjoy it.

    • @@elizabethheatley22That’s what I think too, American one is too close to the Christmas festivities. Canadian Thanksgiving is done in October, not so close to Christmas. We don’t do the American one or acknowledge it. I see also a lot of hotels in the UK are doing Thanksgiving for American visitors but not Canadian visitors in October also.

  • The decoration is lovely Anna 😍Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Europe but we do it differently. In Austria/South Tyrol we have „Thanksgiving“( „Erntedankfest“) or „St. Martin celebration“ („Martini“). There is a „harvest crown“ and you celebrate in church. And „Martini“ you celebrate with your family or in restaurant. And the typical dish is goose „St. Martin‘s goose“ („Martinigansl“). So celebrating a good harvest and say thank you is a very traditional celebration here too.

  • Just hosted “Friendsgiving” with a group of close friends from all over (we’re all based in geneva). I was the only American and this was their first “thanksgiving” experience. I asked guests to bring a dish from their cultural origins and we had Indian curry, Brazilan salad, Belgian pie, Ivorian fried plantains, and a very American turkey with stuffing. All said they loved the spirit to give thanks, enjoy food from all over, and share good times with friends. To each their own whether they want to partake / host, but I love the idea to celebrate small things like the fall harvest in a big way with people you care about. Happy fall 🍁🍂

  • Can't tell you how happy I was to see you hosting a Thanksgiving. I had moved to Lyon France in October 1991; and to thank all those that helped me that first mouth. I hosted my first Thanksgiving in France for about 8 people. The last Thanksgiving I had in 1999 was up to 39 people. Quite a large affair. With kid from the universities in and around Lyon and friends. I had learned many things over all those year's like having to order my turkey/ dinner a month in advance. Also to take the head and feathers of it. And one year moving to a much larger flat and purchasing a much larger . It is wonderful to see that you are doing a Thanksgiving this year. I found that everyone loved the idea of a dinner just to give thanks to one another and for the bounty we've had during the year. Love you guy's! ❤

  • I agree gratitude is a human expression.....and must be passed on.

  • I agree with Anna about the wall. It would feel very cramped to walk into an area which rubs your shoulders. I also agree that you don't need a huge shower. Seeing the layout of a project, even with tape, is very important and negates having to undo framing or walls.

  • My geometric obsession is very bothered by the fact the two gates don’t open and close at the same speed and alignment 😂. But I’m happy you guys have seen the problem solved 🙏

  • Another awesome video. And a thought, I love your red dining room! I think though it needs a beautiful BIG dramatic artwork behind where Anna was standing to narrate her creative project. Maybe even some I’ve traditional landscape in a aged, traditional, decorative gilt frame, to contrast with the fabulous, modern, bold red. I think it could look so big, and bold and fantastic in your amazing room!
