There's a fist pump that amounts to self-encouragement, and there's the chest-thumping variety. I don't mind the first kind.
Yes, I also find the fist pumping and the screams on every point over the top. But more irritating than that is players asking the public for applause (for instance pointing the ears, or waving the arms). Why these players don't let the public decide when and how much to applause, if it is deserving the public will applaud and cheer, end of the story.

@Bowl849 Let him first win it. He has to improve especially on his serve. With this opponent he won, but with the same service he will lose to stronger opponents like tsitsipas or zverev.
Meddys mental strength was the key. Other guy was actually playing well but unusally medvedev was in control and handled it very well😮He is seriously working on his mental strengths and on court actions.
Nothing unusual about a Grand Slam champion who reached #1 in the world & won the year-end Finals being mentally tough & refusing to lose to an opponent ranked outside the Top 100.
Spot on. I am seriously impressed at how well he has been able to avoid the distractions and dramas that have plagued his matches in the past.

He's a super smart guy. Loathe his game but probably the brightest guy on the ATP
It was fine. He basically said he wasn't fully pleased with his level, but was glad that he won & will try to do better against Paulina. He's been working on various things off court which basically all got thrown out the window the moment Hammy started taking it to him & there wasn't much he could do in the 2nd set when H&M was redlining. Per usual, when it was crunch time in the third, he cut out the unforced errors & made sure to hold serve & stay ahead.

Ever since the Next Gen Finals i have been a been a fan of Medjedovic, what an eye candy of a game he has and he is growing into a fearless and gritty competitor as well, loved this match up against Danil, another (if akward) player i love to see.

I think it needs to be mentioned that Medjedovic could only play so well because Medvedev was so strong in defense. Defense is equally as difficult as offence & he is very good at it!

Looks wide, yes. And it actually made not much sense to go for the harder down the line shot when the court was beautifully open for an easier cross court strike, most probably a winner if he hit it with the same pace. He still has a lot to learn.
