"I wish the two of them would kiss, I want them to kiss." Shane is basically a wattapad girl shipping two people who show basic human decency towards each other.
A hot commodity there in this world.

Um no, wattpad girls ship two ppl who absolutely hate each other
In fanfic writer’s defense sometimes basic human decency is a lot in rl

Shane's description of a burglar having to pretend to be a dog was exactly what I needed to defuse the tension of this incredibly terrifying situation

Dude yes I was so scared and then I just started laughing so much
You know.. that was probably the real situation.. What rando guy just breaks into a house INTENTIONALLY pretending to be a dog? They were probably like "ohhhhhh shit.. uh.. uhh... woof?"
I wrote this! In the original, there's no hand licking. I guess the editors thought my version was too subtle. Anyway, what an honour to be chosen, but simultaneously I'm not sure I can forgive the boys for doing Bear dirty with the PB, lmao. Thanks, Watcher team!

Hey, Cujo was not bad, he was sick!! Vaccinate your dogs against rabies! RIP Cujo.
@@tobleroonie5043 you obviously did not read the book. It's kind of explicitly said that the killer possessed Cujo through the madness brought by rabies.
I'm confused by the comments here because I read Cujo fairly recently and I don't remember seeing any mention of him being possessed. I just remember his inner monologue and it turning from being so sweet and innocent, to desperate and panicked as he tried to understand the pain in his head and started attacking people he thought were the cause. Maybe I just missed it. Stephen King straight up admits that he was at his pinnacle of alcoholism and doesn't remember writing it, but I think the idea that he was a good dog that didn't know what was happening is a much more powerful story then him being possessed so maybe I just subconsciously decide to ignore that plot device
Ah....a rabid dog....also possessed by the spirit of a maniac..... the kind of shit only a coked up King could write lol
He was a lil boy!! He didn't know any better!!
My puppies name is Cujo and the first thing we did was get him his rabies shot just to be safe
This is a good cautionary tale that lab safety is no joke, if you’re working with harsh chemicals ALWAYS wear the appropriate PPE! No exceptions!!
Right??? As a safety auditor I cringed.. we are big on ppe at my job.. for good reason
Why do I feel like this was a message from the spirit of my safety manager father... And he's not even dead...
and contacts??? in a chem lab??? absolutely not
Well considering I have the humor of a 10 yr old I read your comment as when working with harsh chemicals ALWAYS PEE! No exceptions! XD
Reading this while wearing my PPE lol!
Oh man the last pages of "Cujo" are actually so heartbreaking. "He had always tried to be a good dog. He would have died for them, if that had been required. He had never wanted to kill anybody. He had been struck by something, possibly destiny, or fate, or only a degenerative nerve disease called rabies. Free will was not a factor"
cujo always makes me so sad 😭😭
Thats why i could never read it, I'm a big softie despite my love of blood and guts and I'd cry reading it from the dogs perspective
That book is so upsetting, I hate it when it's from Cujo's pov. My cold little heart shatters and breaks every time I read those lines about how confused and in pain that poor dog was in. He never wanted to do anything wrong, he was the goodest of boys :(
@@originalusername3049 it is genuinely heartbreaking
aw, why you gotta do that to me. Now my heart is broken. I've only seen the movie once years ago, I had no idea the book was from cujo's perspective.

It's like that one supernatural episode...
This story has some of the worst aftermath out of any that we've heard so far I think for the sheer number of separate bad things that happen to this one guy in very short order. First he loses his eyesight in a work accident that he may be found liable for, then he learns that his beloved dog was killed, and then he finds out that something was in his home last night that was not his dog. I would immediately need to go on a grippy socks vacation.

Man, I STILL think about the “humans can lick too” story. It was passed off to me as some “it happened to a friend of a friend” thing. But as I got older, I realized that if someone broke into my house and hurt my animals, it would be Over for them. So this one just made me incredibly sad :(
Same that story just scared me so much.
I remember my Australian cousins came to the UK once and when we stayed in a tent they told me about that story. scared af
I remember reading it from a magazine when I was a kid and it's been haunting me ever since. As soon as I clicked this video and started to hide in the comments I was like "Oh No is this the same story??" specially since I'm Brazilian and I never imagined it would be a universal experience. In the version I read, a young girl was spending the weekend alone at her familys farm with only her dog to keep her company, and whenever she felt anxious or scared she would reach her hand down under the bed and the dog would lick it. She kept waking up during the night hearing a dripping noise from the bathroom, like smth was leaking. Well animal death tw but when she finally got up to look she sees her dog hanged from the shower head, his blood dripping on the floor, and just before she runs out of the house she can see the phrase written on the mirror with the dogs blood. Needless to say I didn't sleep for weeks after that one
@@hibiscuspetals02 I'm Dutch and I've heard of the story too. I think that I heard a variant with a serial killer where the number of licks would signify if the danger was far away, close or in the house.

The moment the hand licking was mentioned I instantly knew where the story was going. The premise of a dog licking a hand being replaced by a human has been done to death, but this story actually made the idea original. I like how you can not actually tell when Bear gets replaced, as technically it could have been the human from the moment the guy got home, as the care worker didn’t see the dog.
As soon as Bear did his initial lick I knew this was gonna be a nice retelling of that classic urban legend. The forced blindness was a nice upgrade

well they were VERY HIGH on drugs. painkillers fuck you up man. thats why they couldnt tell the difference between a skinwalker and their actual dog.
As a person that lives alone, I have a lot of precautions I take to make sure I’m safe. One of my biggest fears is someone hiding in my closet, so I leave my big, heavy travel suitcase in front of my closet door in a way that would be impossible to recreate from the inside. That way I know if someone’s in there or not.
As a kid these kinds of stories used to TERRIFY me. I remember hearing a variation of this story in the playground one day, and the person telling it prefaced it by saying it happened in a disused house that was on the grounds. At the very second I knew it wasn't true, because my dad used to live there as a kid. I remember listening to the whole thing while all the other kids around me got more and more scared, and waited for the storyteller to reach the very end before I blew the whole thing wide open with a casual "oh, when was that? Just because my family has lived in that house for years and nothing like that ever happened to them..." The rush I got from the looks of confusion followed by realisation & relief on all the other kid's faces was something else. I was a quiet kid, so it was one of the few times I think people even noticed me. I still relish that moment!
Ryan being afraid of another human hiding in the closet or basement makes sense considering all of the true crime cases Ryan researched on Unsolved.
As an adult the scariest part of this story was the vet bill
Yassss 😂😂🙌🏼👏🏼
115 likes and only 1 reply Fine I’ll do it my self
I’m an adult and the scariest part was the thought of my dog getting hurt in that way 😢
For anyone in the U.S. reading who's wondering about the whole footing-the-emergency-vet-bill situation, generally if you take an animal that you found in bad shape to a vet ER, you will have the option to surrender that animal over to the ownership of Animal Care & Control or whatever other animal rescue is operating in the area, and they will pay all the medical expenses instead. The tradeoff is that you will be shut out of the animal's treatment process because you agreed that the animal is not legally yours. (You may still be able to find out if the animal survived if the rescue agrees to release that information to you.) The guy in this story chose to take on Bear as his financial responsibility, but it's likely that you would not have to do that if you found an animal in distress IRL. I've surrendered a cat off the street to an ER through this process, didn't cost me anything but my time. Use caution when dealing with unfamiliar animals and don't handle wildlife, but also don't be afraid to help an animal because of bills that won't be yours to pay.

The flashing as the dog is replaced by a person in the drawings is unimaginably terrifying

I knew as soon as the licking the hand was set in place that the dog was going to be replaced. I remember reading a scary story when I was younger which had similar elements. In this one the dog was cowardly and constantly hid under the bed, but if the protagonist put her hand down the dog would lick it. At some point she had left the house and come back and gone to bed. She felt a lick on her hand and tried to go to sleep but noticed a dripping sound like a leaky faucet. When she couldn't stand it anymore she went to investigate. She found her dog nailed to the ceiling, blood dripping down. Written in blood on the wall was "humans can lick too." I know this story probably isn't uncommon, but if you happen to know which one I'm talking about I would love to read it again!

It could just as easily have been the ghost of Bear hanging out with his person, wanting to wait until Andy was healed up before passing on.

So this is just a variation on the "humans can lick too" urban legend
I think the guys introduced that angle - the story itself seemed far more strongly to suggest some sort of otherworldly creature, with its scratching and clicking nails. Ghost Bear?

This is pretty good except that one of the number one rules in a lab is to NEVER wear eye contacts for that exact same reason. Like you’re not allowed to so that’s like really fictional. It would never happen in a lab with someone that has the knowledge of working in one.
I was not scared until those drawing of the man at the basement door and licking his hand came up good god those are terrifying
Reminds me of the “humans can lick too” campfire story about the serial killer who murders a girl’s whole family but she feels safe because her dog was in the room with her licking her hand, and when she wakes up the next morning “humans can lick too” is written in blood on the wall.
Yep the moment I heard that part I immediately thought of that story it has always freaked me out and why NONE of my dogs have ever been allowed to sleep under my bed !
I used to have a dog that slept in bed with me and she bit my cousin because he was hitting me, I used to sleep on like those bunk beds that you pull out from a regular bed so it was barley an inch off the ground but I think about that a lot now that I have a normal bed and remembering that story
Jeez that's scary

I wasn’t scared. But I went from being super sad about the dogs death, to laughing so hard because of the humor these guys have. 🤣🤣 gotta love ‘em.
"Are you scared?" is hands down one of the best series on KZhead
Its buzzfeed unsolved supernatural for me.
Honestly surprised there aren’t more series based on this premise of scary stories w comedic commentary - none I’ve been able to find, anyway
Oh! If you like this, you'd probably like the channel Bedtime Stories. It has creepy stories and terrifying art, the commentary is more thoughtful than funny but still usually very good!

no goggles?? contacts IN?! what a careless chemist. completely got distracted after the accident part of the story because all i can think about is the horrible lab safety lmao
ikr tf?? no safety goggles?? it's basically waiting for an accident to happen
@@blepblep7245 and it did! And now he'll be a cautionary tale told to other lab techs about why they should get the prescription safety goggles.
im always like “oh my gosh this is so scary” but then im like “oh wait shane and ryan are here”
the glitching part between dog and human actually gave me shivers, that was terrifiying
The graphics and editing at the end of the story gave me GOOSEBUMPS
those fucking illustrations of the dog turning into the man scared the shit out of me. honestly the scariest part of this entire series
@@ains1307 PRECISELY!!!! the artist and editor outsold honestly
Carol never wore her safety goggles. Now she doesn't need them.
My bird flew away so when Shane talked about resurrecting Poco I felt that 🥺😞
i’m so glad you covered this! my friend told me this story around a campfire and that night, i had a hard nights sleep because we were camping, a person could easily open our tents and just watch/harm us
Talking about how they like ironic pet names, my boyfriend had a pet duck named Goose. Loved that duck so much
Was there also a chicken?
@@deadinside8781 his parents have the chickens lol we only have ducks currently!
I had a cat named Puppy
@@johanvajse8410 I love that!
@@johanvajse8410 Blasphemy.
The way I read the title and said ''no'' really confidently to myself, meanwhile not even owning a dog.
These 2 have the best chemistry I've ever experienced and I love it so much!
"Do you ever have that time where you sit there and eventually say it's nothing then go back to bed?" Nah fam, i usually get up, bare fists, and walk around cussing at them and threatening them to kick their ass. Yeah i now have an aggressive demon who is no longer aggressive
Ryan: (introduces Shane) Shane: “Let me try my classic demon impression.”
I got this notification and thought it said "Are You Scared of Up Dog?" lmao
what's up dog
There are so many channels that do these types of readings but you two are the best. Your personalities and banter are amazing.
I've heard this story multiple times n I still get chills from it every single time
The only thing that I am scared of is that this season is ending 🥲
As an owner of a chihuahua named Bear, I can confirm it's very funny; especially when people think he's gonna be this huge dog and then I bring out a tiny chihuahua
i feel like the idea of a blind main character in a book would be really cool. instead of visuals, you could go in so much more depth describing sounds and feelings!
Wow the illustrations on this really sent the creepiness home... The dog picture turning to human legitimately made me skin crawl holy hell 😬😬😬😬
"Your sack!" I don't know why but Shane yelling that out killed me 😂🤣😭
Cry-laughing at the impressions of the dude licking the hand lmfao, you guys are awesome lol
"Lick it. LICK IT. You're Bear right?" had me dying of laughter
This was the best part of this episode. Their laughter was infectious!
I was dying hahahahaha
the intruder-licking-the-blind-guy bit was hilarious, holy shit
